Very impressive woodworking skill. I would still caution that it's a good idea to get closer to standard Staunton pieces as it's much easier to play with them. These are not as abstract as some which I would never play with, however, when you're playing a game you don't want to have to remind yourself constantly which piece is which. the heights of the pieces are important, and although this set has height differences consistent with standard pieces, they aren't very differentiated. I don't want to go into a lot of details, but the pieces are also a little chunky for picking up and moving around the board. If you play with this set all the time you'll get used to it and it will be.a lovely family set, just food for thought on a job well done.
No issues at all thankfully. I built a board in a similar way over two years ago, with no issues either. I’d imagine doing thinner pieces with maybe a plywood bottom might give you a little piece of mind, if your worried about movement though!
Right.. anyone else thinking this guy is lucky to still have thumbs? I mean.. even as careful and steady as you might be.. YOU CANNOT REACT fast enough!!! USE PUSH STICKS ;-)

Please make a 72 x 72 centimeters bord + pieces
0:23, ⚠️ - you clearly don’t care about your fingers being cut off with that saw 😬 = use wooden push-bars for safety when feeding a saw. ⚠️-🤬
how is the board holding up? any issues due to wood movement?
