    I have the OX super. It’s a really REALLY nice riding scooter. Extremely smooth and comfortable. The fastest I’ve gotten it up to is 29. I can’t imagine it with the speed of the OXO. 40 MPH on NYC streets seems like a death wish.

    • @TuesThruFri
      @TuesThruFri Год назад

      The Oxo is basically the Ox, just with the dual motors. I have an Oxo and it reaches 40mph easily, but it’s super creaky and cheap feeling. The throttle sticks constantly which is super dangerous.

  • @MrWilliam.Stewart
    @MrWilliam.Stewart 2 года назад +3

    So basically it needs a headlight in the correct position, high up, and the speed control fixed, or at least user adjustable so experienced riders can better regulate their speed above jogging pace, and somthing better than cheap plastic on the deck, then it would be a winner?

  • @rickparkinmoto

    Great review! The OXO is a beauty and hopefully my next escooter. Surprised to learn about the lack of grip on the deck - a fairly basic omission for such a premium scooter. A layer of embedded silicon like the Unagi would add both safety and class.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 года назад +3

      Totally agree with you. Luckily an easy fix. And actually after a couple days you still see the Inokim logo raised up through the grip tape which doesn't look bad at all.

    • @ihuliige6776
      @ihuliige6776 2 года назад +1

      What the test doesn't take into account is that nobody's feet are clinically clean when it's wet outside. You will have mud and sand sticking to the soles of your shoes, which is quite enough to give you plenty of grip when riding the scooter in wet conditions. I've never felt the need to add grip tape to my Ox even when riding in rain, because there's always some sand stuck between my shoes and the deck. The all plastic deck is also very easy to clean.

      We have just purchased an OXO, current model, seems factory as tried to fit an anternative brake caliper to the rear, using multiple spacers between the bracket and caliper to keep it from touching rear motor. Problem the rear brakes are eating out by only half the pads touching half the disc. TBH im a bit pissed that this Inokim is supposed to be a premium product when this type of fitment is extremely poorly thought and amateur. Be aware if you buy an inokim that the specs and parts are actually what you expect. Oh and the nut on the rear axle / motor mount was loose ex factory. This is poor quality control. We have an oxo & a kaabo mantis. Oxo awesome handling, mantis beats it on components and throttle control. OXO is too touchy on instant take off. Ride everything before

    Great review!
    I´ve only owned one e-scooter so far and it´s the Inokim OxO. In my experience it´s also the best scooter out there right now ;)
    However it´s good to get an overview of where it stands next to it´s competitors.
    You´ve brought out all the quirks and features of this beastly machine :D Strange though that the top speed for the OxO was noted down as less than 37mph.
    The top speed is actually 40mph or 65km/h. That´s also the max speed that you can set it to in the hidden settings options. It might not be the quickest to top speed, but 65mh/h is definitely achievable. In good conditions I´ve reached 68km/h (43mph) on mine and I´m no skinny guy at about 100kg (220lbs).
    Thanks for an in-depth review!

    • @S0fasurf3r
      @S0fasurf3r 3 года назад +1

      @@advaitdolas9304 Strange results you have there.
      Are you sure that you have yours running in 2 wheel drive instead of the 1 wheel? Because I could swear I can get about 45kmh on mine in 1 wheel drive. And that´s also around the top speed of the Inokim Ox (1wd) which gets around 45kmh max. With the OxO in 2wd it should not have any issues getting above 50kmh... even with a strong headwind.
      Maybe it´s worth to take it into the shop for inspection, because a 50kmh max OxO is underperforming compared to their factory specs.
      I hope you get your OxO into the proper beast mode that it should be delivering! :)

    Amazing content, thank you. I just upgraded my scooter from an Inokim Ox Super to an Oxo, it is a beast! Could you please advise me how it will be the best way to lock it when I leave it on a bike parking spot? • @AdrianButler86
    @AdrianButler86 3 года назад +1

    I have a suggestion and i beg u to make it a serious staple criteria and list it as the first 2 on the list. WARRANTY! As number 1 pleez. State the length of the manufacturer warranty and what it covers AND if an extended warranty / protection plan is offered. With the way the industry is goin these scooters being recognized as a very useful/practical means of commuting to work and for recreation. These things r the future my brother and they r gettin better very fast and that means prices go up for better quality(which is not bad). Its not bad to pay more for better build quality but the potential customers really value a company which backs a product that is costing them a few hundred if not a few grand. We need peace of mind. We fear spending our hard earned money on something and then having a defective part give out only after a few months use. :( then we find out that it is either past its disappointing sub 1 yr warranty and or it is very hard to find and buy a replacement part due to a non existent or poor replacement product support system/inventory by the manufacturer. Number 2 priority would be listing a safety lighting criteria. With so many scoots n e bikes on the streets across the US and many accidents due to poor visibility in day n night we should put that at the top of importance. Many people n law enforcement use these crash stats to help abolish and or make riding these things harder by putting laws n regs in place. Criteria should test if the scoot has lighting from front, rear, and both sides of deck aswell as rear brake light and frnt n rear turn signals. Maybe make a criteria called safety which includes what i just mentioned as well as the braking system and a horn.

    Good review. I have the OX Hero. It can go up to 51kmh and 23-25km range (with speed 45-50 in really cold weather 3-10C, 65kg, hopefully atleast 35-40 when it's warmer ). This is why it's interesting to see the Oxo is doing just 8kmh more top speed.
    Is the range of the Oxo tested with near constant top speed? I know your other OX review is of the Hero and you managed to get around 35km range in the same conditions as the Oxo here?

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 года назад +1

      Yes the top speed is not dramatically different, but to be honest, I personally don't ride scooters much above 60 kmh. Regarding range, we always test scooters in the highest performance mode. However, we use a consistent test loop with has long straightaways, 5-6 stops, as well as a 4% grade for about 1/3 of the the loop so that it closely resembles semi-urban commuting. The OX was tested on the same exact loop by a rider the same exact weight.

      I looked up the numbers, 0-25 in 6.8. My Wolf King GT Pro can do 0-50 in 4.8. I think the OXO would be a ton of fun to ride. I have my WK in a much lower mode so it's probably close to your 6.8 and it feels quick to me. In max mode though I find it pretty terrifying. And the top speed of 38 is still plenty fast for normal people.
      Have you ridden it much? What's your opinion on the throttle thing people usually bring up? I'm really looking for a 2nd scooter and this one looks almost perfect but the stories of the throttle sticking and jumping have me a little concerned.

  • @DaDouganator
    @DaDouganator 3 года назад +3

    You talk about reliability but how can you say the OXO is reliable unless you have tested this scooter over a decent time period? I’ve had an OXO for 19 months and had nothing but issues. This folding mechanism you talk about is very weak and is under engineered for this scooter. I have had many many failures in the folding mechanism. I have also had the stem crack due to the fact that Inokim decided to grind down the weld on the stem. The plastic deck is prone to cracking. The Zoom brakes are a nightmare to maintain and I my opinion are another weak point of this scooter. A scooter of this quality should be fitted with a premium brake system like a Magura MT5e.
    Maybe look out there in the real world before stating this scooter is reliable.

    So I just got this scooter and I would advise against buying it. It is FAST, but the build quality is so horrendously bad. The deck is made of cheap plastic and the whole unit creaks with every move. The brakes are noisy and squeal so loud. The suspension is clunky and the tires are way too slick to be on a scooter of this speed. It’s a fun ride, but far from what it should be for the price. My commuter Segway which cost well under $800 blows this scooter away in terms of quality and build. As an update, mine is a 2023. Maybe they dropped the ball on these new model years.

      I agree. I am happy that I have one, and I enjoy it, but it’s NOT worth the price they are asking, even when it’s on sale. It’s so creaky and cheap feeling. The suspension is so clunky and the scooter sounds like breaking plastic with every move. Also, the throttle sticks constantly. My Segway that is a fraction of the price has a drastically better build quality than this. Great video tho!

    Way too expensive. I would never pay more than $2000 for a scooter. For that price, it should have been water proof and had an electric horn. The nanrobot D6+ is a lot cheaper and basically the same base model.

      For range, nothing, but nothing beats Voro motors' EMOVE cruiser, with 50.3 miles of ESG certified real-world range. The OXO has the second highest range of any scooter we have tested with 36.6 miles of real-world range. If that's enough range for you, then the OXO is a great choice, because it's going to have a smoother ride and better braking in an emergency. At 8.6ft stopping distance from 15 to 0 mph, the OXO has the best brakes of any scooter we have ever tested. So for comfort + good range go OXO, for flat out amazing range (and a large comfy deck) go EMOVE cruiser. -Paul

    WARNING: This scooter has it's downsides, though I would say it's pretty amazing. The brakes will probably rub on the disk as soon as you get on and will continue to do so until you align it. (unfortunately there's no way to completely have it not rub off and on, but would rather have it rub while not on it.)
    The throttle needs to be kicked off first before it'll go, so going up hill if steep can be really, really challenging as you can't kick off going straight up a steep hill.
    The scooter is mildly water resistance. There's a vent right near the front tire that water can go in straight to the electronics board.
    The brake lines may be leaking. (mine was leaking upon receiving it and still don't know how to fix it without a bike shop doing the repair.)
    The acceleration is very jerky, I have let friends try it and fall off immediately from it accelerating too fast. (personally I learned to get used to it and love it because I can just immediately go.)
    The tubes may become deflated because they can get pinched in the wheels. They don't offer tires that are solid without tubes (mind blowing because they would be perfect for something this powerful.)
    the back guard will not last. For anybody. It comes off very easily and will come off when you go over a strong bump.
    Apart from all that, it's an amazing scooter though.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 года назад +1

      Happy to send you the data. Our top speed runs are done on flat ground, measured via Racelogic Vbox Sport, and then we take the median value of three top speed runs. (for high speed scooters we do a two direction average to account for headwinds and tailwinds).
      All of our range tests are done on the same course, with the scooter in it's top speed mode, but average speeds tend to be around 17 mph during the test. At 36.6 miles, the OXO has the second longest range of any scooter we have ever tested. It's one of very few scooters we've ever tested which beats the range specified by the reseller (see link below), in this case the claimed range was 36 miles. -Paul
