As weird as it sounds, I've been watching this channel since I was a child. Now being an adult going through a mini crisis, it's nice you're still on the platform after all these years. It brings a little comfort knowing certain aspects of life are still there to look forward to.
Fun Fact: In the original japanese version, Kine wasn't actually a giraffe, instead he was an okapi, but they changed it for the western release to be more recognizable.

Huge respect to the devs for expanding the scope of this game so much with the same limitations they had with the first entry. Kirby just keeps on winning no matter what.
this video honestly gave me a much better view on KDL2, i was never too much of a fan of it, but honestly it really is such a massive improvement over the original game and it's incredible how many features from adventure on top of the new animal buddies managed to fit into this tiny game boy cartridge
I bought this game when it came out to play IN COLOR on my Super Gameboy on my TV (which was an amazing thing in the mid 90's), and it was very impressive for the time. It's easy to view it as a mediocre game if you don't take into consideration the game landscape of the time and that it was a Gameboy game. Unfortunately that's a curse that will always happen to old games. I always thought of it right up there with Donkey Kong 94, Mario Land 2, and Wario Land as one of the best Gameboy games.
I like how in the thumbnail Rick is unhappy about Kirby being knocked out and the Goomba riding him. Also I think its amusing how Dreamland 2 has more worlds than Dreamland 3 even if the latter is longer
Ah yes, the game that introduced Dark Matter: One of the best antagonists in the Kirby series. Also, have you played Kirby and the Forgotten Land Goomba? And if so, what do you think of it?
@@poetryflynn3712 I mean, I believe that the Nintendo Universe is a thing that exists since we do see Samus in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and there are Mario portraits in Hyrule Castle in Ocarina of Time
I haven’t played a Kirby game in years until I was impressed enough with Forgotten Land’s demo to pre-order it. I certainly enjoyed it far more than any previous Kirby game, and the post-game content is genuinely challenging, but…I don’t know, the movement and general game loop in Kirby games have never clicked with me. Not even Mario games outside of Super Mario Odyssey. Don’t get me wrong, the game was still a 9/10 for me and I played until I got my completion counter to about 78% before moving on to something else, but momentum-based platformers like Sonic or Rayman Origins have always been better at making my lizard brain giddy, even if they’re obviously not anywhere near the polish of the average Nintendo game most of the time…
@@carty7681 I guess it was interesting playing a game that seems to avoid overstaying its welcome in an age of 125+-hour RPGs, open worlds, and ever-updating "live service" games like Fortnite. I don't know if I would necessarily call it a good thing, since Forgotten Lands is not only the first game in over a decade that made me break my "never pre-order" rule (if only because the free demo gave me confidence that it would be good), but the first time in a while that I played full-price ($60) for the game. But after watching the Internet discourse on Elden Ring go from "GOTY 2022!!!" to "They STILL haven't fixed the stuttering in the PC version?" and "This open world is actually boring, like all the other ones...", I think I made the right choice this one time going with Kirby as my one and only game to get earlier this year, even if it's obviously completely different from Elden Ring.
@@JeffreyThrash In my opinion, so far, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is GOTI for me, but I'm REALLY looking forward to Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope since it looks like they're going to fix all the problems the first game had. As a child, and even today, I LOVE the Rabbids, so seeing it with my favourite franchise of all time made a certain 10-year old really hyped for the game when it came out. Last year, in E3, I remember seeing Nintendo leak the sequel to this game, and I was really excited. Then I watched the Ubisoft showcase that night, and words cannot describe how happy I was to see a trailer to this game, I probably broke a window when I saw the start of the trailer. I'm really hyped for this game, as it's likely that it'll be GOTI for me. But as for Elden Ring, so many people are looking over many amazing games this year in favour of this one, and while it looks like a genuine masterpiece, I think I like the simplicity of KatFG over Elden Ring.
The editing is still top notch and I enjoyed it. Seven years of being a patron support and he finally became patron of the week? That is some dedication he has.
yeah that super final boss is tough. the bright side is that the first form is easy enough to dodge his attacks AND you do big damage if you deflect the orb back at him. so that makes it easier to get past on repeat tries. and if im not remembering incorrectly there is a general time limit for the overall battle as you are slowly descending the entire time. and after long enough you fall and lose. which is a weird choice as Kirby can fly and the sword was clearly magical since it allowed Kirby to even fly that high for the final battle, but i guess its only actually got one good jump in it then it hovers?
