The Mah-Chete is a versatile blade, it can thrust, slice, hack, and split. It hits harder than a light machete, but it is not so heavy that it will tire you out. This machete has been around for a while, so the price is pretty reasonable at around $50. In the text box is a link for the Mah-Chete, as well as other machetes in the same medium-heavy category, enjoy! :]
Yep it's made by "you know who", El Salvador origin with walnut grip scales and that faux hammered finish with 1075, who else could it be? That's good though as nobody does 1075 better and I'm familiar it.
I love how you implicitly talk everything about the weapon potential of the blade without explicitly talking about the tactical potential of the blade. The friggin thing is total FMA.
Hey WeAllJuggleKnives - thanks for the review! Really enjoyed your demonstration. PS your Woods Chogan™ T-hawk wrapping looks really nice. Again thanks for the detailed review! Appreciate the feedback.
long mah, is my favourite designer at crkt. those wee slip joint folders, with the stop pin? the style reminds me of james williams... i love them. carry one in each pocket, you just feel like carrying them over other knives.
That blade is a path clearer for sure and I like that it can take the place of an axe or hatchet. Looks like it can do anything from clearing brush, chopping fire wood, or preparing food for the cook fire.
Let me just say this thing is a beast and i paid 90 for it about a year or so ago. Get this thing at 50 dollars its awesome. That rough finish is not as rough as it looks, very beautiful blade, love the handle scales. Love it so much i don't want to use it on wood
i would love to see a chopping video comparing the village parang, the lochnessmuk, the engineer bolo, the mini duku parang, and other short, heavy choppers, im currently in the market for a 12" or shorter heavy chopper, i also wish i could find one of kabars discontinued short heavy bowies.
Excellent vid! Heck of chopper for a Mah-Chete. I would like to see that thing open a pathway in a rain forest, looks like it would slice through some thick stuff!
I have this, and i like it. But i consider it to be a big-ass knife. If i needed to use a machete for clearing brush, there are a number of other options i'd reach for before this.
I like the blade, especially for the cost. And it's great for cutting pizza!!! A serious note, however... I know you're making a demo here but it's good to mention that the method you used when "hammering" the firewood through the tough spots is actually very dangerous and can result in shards driven into your hands or wrist and spinners in the face and eyes. Trust me on this, I had to learn the hard way in my youth. If you're using this tool to split through a knot, please do use a baton. This has been a public service announcement. :D
I had one of these. I picked it up at Kittery trading post in Maine. It was lovely. Brutally cool looking. but it just DID NOT feel good in my hand. It would twist or turn with every shot. Ended up selling it.
I bought this as a knife . I have this addiction for big knives , ever since I saw a Bigfoot ,it's got to be a big knife. I usually carry a kukri or bowie made in India .
@@WeAllJuggleKnives I got an India Bowie off Amazon for $16.00 or less ? But it keeps an edge for ever. And It is a car spring re-born as a 12 inch blade , Bowie . I had a new sheath made for it. And it's Beastly. It took me a little while to get it scary sharp , it never cuts anything . I carry it for a last chance knife. I have a pocket and hunting knife for everything else. I used a RaDa sharpener on it finally to get the deadly edge then honed it and then , let it alone .And it will not ever break. So I feel safe with it. It' a winner for the money .Stainless ,and alloy's used in chinese steel , and Japan are notorious for knives breaking just doing regular stuff. And the last thing you need is your last chance at life , breaking ,when you need it most. So I make sure it's a made in India knife for woods carry. If it gets by the Glock 20 , I'll be surprised ,but a knife does twice the damage a bullet does. And since it's a cheap knife I could care less losing a little steel , to get it scary sharp ,so I used the rada ,if it were a nice knife , no way. Peace.
Who did you order it from? Sounds like a seller issue to me, and afaik, Condor doesn't sell directly, you have to order them from Amazon or BladeHQ or something.
no this was an obvious heat treat warp.. i know condor doesnt sell direct.. my issue isnt the bowed blade its that i jave tried numerous times to call them to email them go to their website and none work. ive always praised them till this issue.
Say Heah Is, What's up Bro, Are you angry at me because I told you I won't will my knives to you, I have family Is, and besides you have alit of knives, mine are more for survival as tool's, I take very good care of mine, But if I trust my lifevti them, yeah, I pick good ones. , .. sorry, If I gave you just sime if mine, You would need a larger apartment, so see I look after you, now be be Kewl BeanZ OK. ,, .Thats what happens when you get use to free. ,, .

When I first saw one of these my first thought was "Is Condor becoming that popular that CRKT had to make a machete that looks like one?"
Excellent vid! Heck of chopper for a Mah-Chete. I would like to see that thing open a pathway in a rain forest, looks like it would slice through some thick stuff!
Looks like a nice machete.. Like you said Condor... what do you think of the Condor Tapanga...

great videos. thoughts on the 1075 steel? seems to have held up well enough. thanks!
Well done, THX!
Awesome, I wish they sharpened all the way back though
without a guard they probably did it to protect your hand, incase you slipped you have a little more time to react.
I'd like a kydex horizontal sheathe for this (large)knife
traderjoes I was thinking the same but my man above me is right.
That punches far above it weight, good blade for the woods yard and whatever else pops up.
Love it, great review as usual ;)
What are your thoughts on this compared to the ChanceInHell machete?
I would do a two point paracord knuckle guard type shape.
I like the blade, especially for the cost. And it's great for cutting pizza!!!

Thanks for the tip, I don't think I'm hitting it hard enough to make deadly projectiles, but I will definitely be careful.
Is the wendigo any good?
How does it cut rope/paracord?

I like this mah-chete I think I'm getting one of these.
I've been thinking about one of these for some time just never pulled the trigger
You need to ship that to Tac!
Good blade for a decent price , reminded me of the knife Aragorn used in LOTR
they should make one with a clipped point.
nice machete, also you are lucky with the price, here in hungary these one costs 120 USD
I bought this as a knife . I have this addiction for big knives , ever since I saw a Bigfoot ,it's got to be a big knife. I usually carry a kukri or bowie made in India .
Big knives are awesome, I like ESEE Junglas, Kershaw Camp 10, or BK9, and CS Black Bear Machete is good too

More of a knife than a machete imo
its a great looking blade but because it is made by that company i wont buy it as they recently lost me as a customer of their products.
Imacasa/Condor lost you as a customer? Dear lord why, their stuff is excellent.
i recently ordered a blade from condor that had a bent blade n have had a nightmare trying to get it replaced.
Who did you order it from? Sounds like a seller issue to me, and afaik, Condor doesn't sell directly, you have to order them from Amazon or BladeHQ or something.

Weird. Only time I ever had to email them about something I got a reply within half an hour.
