I appreciate your honesty. It’s very helpful. My husband and I are in Central Florida, retired, and considering a move to Georgia.

I watched a yt video about all the gangs and gang activity/crimes in Georgia. It seemed pretty scary.
Some videos say some towns are safe, and videos say the same towns are not.
What is the crime rate and overall safety like in n Georgia? How soon do police respond?
What about 911 emergencies? Is there a reasonable response and enough resources for the citizen population?
When you say north Georgia, is this both the west side and the east side? Thank you for your time!!

All great questions. Best answer I can give you would be to call the Sheriff's Office for any of the locations you're considering. There are also a few third party sites that may provide helpful info: spotcrime.com/ and www.adt.com/crime typically have good info

I live in north Ga in dade county the city is trenton. Crime is very low, mostly drug arrests. Our area is rural so there are no street gangs. The downside I hear from new residents is that we are not close to anything. There is no public transportation. You have to commute everywhere next to having a home, a reliable vehicle is a must. People in our area do not rely on the police to defend or help them. The second amendment is a way of life and most people do not call the police unless there is a dispute with a neighbor or a domestic situation. Hope this helps

Really tired of experts about NGA. People moving here after about a year want to change it to where they came from.
