My V6 does it constantly. If I am easy on the throttle, whether it’s in auto or manual mode it’ll never make the noise. But if I get hard on the throttle it’s just a terrible squeak. You can hear it loud and clear from the outside and it’s not fun pulling up to meets with people asking why my car sounds like a rat.
2022 LT1, same problem, same noise, also goes away after doing it once or twice when switching to paddles. 2 different dealerships claimed they couldn't hear it or reproduce it. Not sure what to tell them. Maybe I'll just show them your video lol.
I have a LT1 2021 and I heard some light knocking and whining when I started the car twice just took it to the dealer today .. u know what could be wrong only had it for 1 year
I know they make a device that plugs in where a scan tool would go that deactivates that. Not sure but maybe other ways to do it. Two things I hate the most are the AFM and start/stop.
Yep! In the video I mentioned the Range device that’s made to do that. I’m really thinking about checking it out. My fiancée’s trailblazer has the auto start and stop and I agree with you I hate it!

I have the 2019 2SS. Mine started doing this at the beginning of winter and quickly escalated to a ratcheting sound that required it to go into the shop. took two months for them to get a new valve but it’s in there currently waiting to be replaced. Not sure if I’m going to disable it or go with the borla exhaust like I see on here but I wish I found this sooner.

They can dry slide lube it or replace the whole exhaust. They will Definitely try the lube first. They did mine and it came back within 2 weeks. So I dry slide lube it myself, I have a video of it on the channel

I have found a way to stop the issue I can walk you through it. The noise is coming from the flow control valve and you have to lube it up. If you wanna go through the dealership but the only true fix is for them to replace half of the exhaust system good luck arguing with them to do that and if you do get them to it’s gonna take a couple visits.
Just depends on the car really. Some people have it and some people never have issues at all. With my luck, I would be one of the people to have it though

I have the same issue. I know it’s the valves because it only happens in automatic when the car swaps between v8 and v4. I’m guessing it’s something to do with pressure change. The squeak you can tell is coming from the valve area but I swear it does sound like the air noise is coming from the engine area
Got a 2021 Camaro ss in 2020 and it just started giving me this issue, I hate it so much every time I hear a squeak sound even if it’s not me I hate it I’m pretty much traumatized now
My 2023 ss 1le just started doing this a few days ago at 4k miles smh. All I know is I’m not having it, not for a brand new car I pay a shot ton for. After researching only true fix seems to be is a exhaust change, and I will demand it be done if they can’t find another issue or fix when I go to my appointment with the Chevy dealer near me.
Most likely they will try to fight it and do the dry slide lube instead like they did for mine. It worked for about 2 weeks. I apply my own now, until I get it deleted. I agree, we pay the money for these cars, shouldn’t sound 20 yrs old and squeaky when pulling up. Let me know how your situation goes

@@1LE_Ciko from what I was told, the sound is metal rubbing, but that won’t cause a problem; however, the whole AFM system in general is terrible for the engine, and needs to be deleted before it eventually causes lifter failure. I had a scare a few months back with one of my lifters

Welp I took it to the shop for the chirp and the car ended up staying because the ac belt was worn out because a loose harness wire lol they fixed it and said as far as the noise from the afm valve changing from v4 to v8 is normal they said even a little shudder is normal and that the noise would most likely come back even if parts were changed, the vehicle has been inspected and everything is good to go according to them. So I guess I’ll have to deal with it for now unless the noise or symptoms get worse smh.. pretty ridiculous but I guess that’s GM standard
I have a 21 2ss crush orange as well. I have owned it about 6 months with only 890 miles. I don't have that problem ( yet). Maybe do some Kooks long tube headers and full Corsa exhaust and a D1 PROCHARGER and the only noise you will hear is you blowing by people. 😆 🤣 😂
It took me forever to find it, when I did find one, it was in New York, I live in Tennessee. I don't drive it much but when I do ,man oh man it's awsome!

I own a 21 2SS in Crush Orange A10. Purchased new in December 21. Not my daily. Have 5,500 miles on it. I haven't experienced this issue yet, but I drive it with the paddles and tree most all the time. To be honest, I couldn't hear the sound you were referring to in the videos, and I listened with noise canceling headphones. It will be a while before I have a chance to check for it on mine. She's covered up until winter is behind us.
Mine was having the exact same issue I found the service bulletin it’s an easy fix I did it myself you just have to lube the valve it takes like 15 minutes.
I'm having this exact same problem too. Took my car in to the dealer, told them exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. They called me later in the day and told me that the only way to fix the problem was to replace my entire exhaust for $5k. I told them no and they still charged me $250 for the problem diagnosis. Sigh.
Geez, that’s insane. I have a follow up video to this called How to fix the AFM valve squeak at home for the Camaro. In that video, I show the service bulletin from GM that states to fix with a lube. Maybe check that out and see if you can get them to address it with their service bulletin

So when I am rolling at 40 MPH or above while in 4 cylinder mode and smash the gas it revs up and the rpms jump but the car isn't going anywhere and then it goes. I hate that so much, isn't what a Camaro should be doing.

Ohhh BREHHH Audi why GM does this🤦♂️! Speaking of valves, my good friend and I had to replace my PCV valve! It was a hollow valve with no catch can🤦♂️🤦♂️! We were like, “Wtf GM”🤦♂️. Oh and btw, PCV Valves are insanely hard to take out without taking the valve covers off the motor!!
I had this same exact issue! Luckily I was already looking to a borla xpipe. The one I got also contained the valves but they have worked amazing so far and seem to be much better quality, not issues. But I’m looking at getting the awe part that actually permanently opens them.
Got question I got 2SS but didn’t get the npp value package do I still have the afm value to because I am also ordering the same xpipe do I need the one with the value
At this point everyone should just get used to this if you still under warranty, if you do nolt have warranty I suggest you go to a tunner and turn it off.

I bought the Range Dynamics AFM disabler for around $200.00, just plug it into your OBD port. It works for me.

There is a service bulletin to apply dry slide lube to the valves, but when they did mine it lasted not even 2 weeks

Range tech won’t void warranty as there is no trace left on the comp. Just make sure to unplug it before bringing it in to the dealer for any reason

I did buy one and it’s awesome. No more squeak and constant v8. You can buy a full cat back system without the afm inputs but you will get a code

Hey, so the SS 1LE comes with 285 fronts and 305 rears. The non 1LE comes with 245 fronts and 275 in the rear. Appreciate the compliment!

It's a squeaking sound in 30 to 40 mp only in automatic.

It’s the AFM valve squeak! They can dry slide lube it a few times after that they can replace the whole exhaust under warranty
