Interesting, I have never had occasion to involve a lawyer in a dispute but I have a friend who has several times and he said that in every case, he paid a lawyer $50 or something to send a letter and the other side just fixed the issue after that, no further action needed.
Always a good idea to check things out before leaving the dealership after they do anything to it. I bought a truck years ago and as an incentive they gave me up to 4 free oil/filter changes a year for as long as I owned the truck. Had that truck for 11 years. Got to a point where I had to put my initials on the oil filter and check the oil level and filter before leaving the dealership. Truck took 6 quarts and they would usually short me 2. After the second or third time I brought out the service manager and the dealership manager and showed them the dip stick and my initials on the filter. They did the job properly after that. The dealership is the stealership.
Ah , those early days The headphones are not only a great look back before he had heat in the studio they kept his ears warm it was rumored the headphones kept his Toupee from falling off
A Lincoln dealership almost couldn't reprogram my car and it was almost a lost. I have to take it back to them and now I'm glad to know this in case something goes wrong. Thanks
Your stance on threatening letters interests me, Steve. Here in England 'Solicitor's Letters' are a big thing, and most solicitors advertise a fixed fee for one. Possibly they are more effective as a threat because we're not such a litigious country? Anyway I thought you might find that interesting.
Now you could do a video on the dealer playing dumb about fixing an issue with your vehicle. I had my Elantra towed to the Hyundai dealer here in Tallahassee, 5 weeks ago. I have an extended warranty from Hyundai USA 100K/10 years (my car 66K. warranty good through 2024) When it was first diagnosed, I was told replacement of the main electrical harness at about $6000 would fix it. As soon as they found out I had an extended warranty, the dealer decided it might be something else. Now weekly, I get: "Technicians are working on it" and lately "we are consulting with Hyundai USA". I don't think they have any intention of fixing the issue. Should I get an attorney?
If I understand the lug nut case correctly. Now, since this video was made, in Michigan I can say, "But I did change the oil so sorry it didn't stay in the engine. But I did take drain the old oil and put in new oil and for a moment it registered on the stick. All that was checked just before it apparently drained all back out for the missing plug." Is that a nearly correct interpretation of the now lack of consumer protection now in place up there?
Can someone help me with advice I drove from Texas to North Carolina forty mothers funeral need a shift gear bushing replaced and a computer update all for free because of recall and my car door was major major damage they tried to say it was like that when they brought it in and then pointed out thy have cameras and told me they have to wait for access to the cameras one day turned to a week to a month to 6 months never tried contacting me or respond to my messages left with assistance
What about the mechanic doing a post repair test drive and the car gets damaged in an accident. The court determines there is a mixed liability between the mechanic and another driver who is not insured. Is there any liability on the owners behalf?
I was out on a test drive with a customers vehicle once, on the test drive, someone in the other lane came into my lane, almost hitting me, in order for me not to wreck the car, I had to swurve out of the way, I hit a curb and broke the rim and Cv axle, What did I do? I called the owner, was honest about what happened and then replaced the rim and the cv axle. Accidents happen, just repair it! As someone that owns a shop. Most of the time, it cost little money to repair it and just cost us the time. Bottom line, just repair it.
I financed a car 10 days ago from the city via online the dealership was supposed to bring it to me its 10 days ago ...i don't have the vehicle I called saying where is it..... they said they damaged.my.windshield and had to get it fixed. I don't want this vehicle they damaged and they said I signed the contract I have to take it. Can I get out.
Your parking lot owner story: Are you sure that Sri Lankan owned the lot? I recall a dude in the UK who noticed that some place was setting up a public parking lot for their town hall, it didn't have a booth to gatekeep folks parking, so he just set up his own booth and charged folks a couple bucks for parking in a free parking lot. I think he did it for 30 years before he "retired" and the government figured out later he had run a scam.
Shame the spirit of this law didn't spill over into the civil case where tho owner of a manual car ended up being sued when an employee of a repair shop ran the car into a colleague resulting in death that you covered recently🤷♂️

So weird to hear you say the intro instead of the Canadian robot lady. And there's nothing behind you! Thanks for reposting these old videos.

I don't let anyone else work on my car unless I'm not able to do the work (like it requires specialty tools that I can't afford).

Steve exists in more than one timeline. Play the video at half speed and count how many times he licks his eyeball.

At the local Maserati dealership the term “joy ride” is more correctly know as “road test”.
Dad took hi ranger to dealer for oil change! They didn’t put oil back in! Took 6 weeks for a new engine install! TECH no longer has a job!
Brand new Ford ranger 3500 miles 🥸🤬🤔😝🇺🇸

Does it still apply if the dealer did horrible work on the car and it left in the worst condition?
Would anyone know of the burden of proof lies on mechanics/tire shops in the state of Georgia?
Better tone down the backdrop a little

And if someone vandalized your and 4 other cars in the garage lot...are they still liable?

what if the car itself is stolen from the dealership? do they owe you triple the value of the car?
I reckon you shot this video back in your old house next to Bill (your bad neighbor)
What if the car was stolen while in their possession?

I'm to old to mess with an oil change. my dealer sees me four times a year.
