    The Infiniti Q50 is an entry-level luxury sport sedan. The Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 300 is a luxury sedan with a twin-turbo punch. Under the hood is a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 pumping out 400HP & mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. No turbo lag - 2 small twin turbos smooths out power delivery. Exhaust sound is nice.
    On the outside, the Q50 has some beautiful lines and colors. The Q50 offers many of the latest high-tech features and driving assistants as well as a better-than-average performance at a reasonable price. Some of the technology is dated. For 2020, in particular, Infiniti has dropped the previous entry-level four-cylinder engine and replaced it with a 300-horsepower V6. There's also a new infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.
    The lack of smartphone integration was a pretty serious drawback last year, so it's fair to say the Q50 is a better pick than it's been in the past. We also like the sporty performance provided by the V6, which you can ramp up to 400 hp in the Red Sport 400 trim level. Overall, the Q50 could be worth a look, especially if the price is right. But know that rival sedans such as the BMW 3 Series, Genesis G70 and Volvo S60 are newer and more desirable overall.
    Power: 3L V6 twin-turbo - 400 horsepower/ 350 lb-ft torque
    0 - 60 mph 4.5 sec.
    7-speed automatic transmission
    19” alloy Red Sport 400 wheels with all-season performance run-flats
    Red Sport brakes on 13” rotors
    Drive modes - 6 modes
    MPG’s: 19 city / 26 highway
    6 exterior colors
    Revised infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
    New Edition 30 trim
    Test vehicle os AWD with carbon fiber package- spoiler and mirror covers $1520
    - with options $60,475
    Price : $56,250

    I currently have a G37x with the VQ engine and I love it. I'm so happy Infiniti kept the sport exhaust, even if it's an option, because there are some buyers out there that don't care about ride noise. However, there are a lot of speculation out there that Infiniti is at risk of leaving the US market. I don't know if it is true. I really want to trade mine in for a Q50 Red Sport. Infiniti keeps reporting that they are working on newer models that should be launching later this year but due to COVID-19 these dates could be delayed until next year. I really hope Infiniti doesn't exit the US market because they are the Japanese BWM.

    I have this car and I absolutely love it! I’m on my second lease and plan to buy it out, I’ve have had absolutely zero problems. I do have multi staged heated seats, if you hit the button a few times, it will go from auto, high, mid and low. I do wish it had a spare tire and power folding mirrors, great review!

    Good review overall. I crossed shopped the 2019 flavor of this car with a Mercedes C43 and this car is by far a better buy. Infiniti routinely gives $10K off these cars and will even offset the sales tax on top of that $10K. A similarly equipped C43 is around $65K plus tax.
    I get that some people hate the dual screens but there are not many sedans that offer this level of performance and options for anywhere near this price point.
    PS - The seats offer 4 heating modes: auto, high, medium and low. It is worth mentioning this car has full surround view cameras with ultrasonic parking sensor front and rear.

      I made the reverse change. I owned a RS400 and traded for a C43. The performance is similar, but the handling of the RS is poor in comparison. I liked the RS, but as everyone complains, the interior and infotainment are sub standard for a $55K+ car.

      Glad you found a car you are happy with! The C43 is a very nice car, it just comes with a $15K premium option for option. You can get it prices closer if you do not car about some of the options. I am curious other than the infotainment system and screens, what’s your chief complaint about the RS400 interior?

  • @NileshR12

    I love my Red Sport. Don't get DAS, the electronic steering is fine. The Stock tires are horrible Dunlop run flats, go plus to Michelin, stock wheels can take 255/40/zr19 fronts and 285/35/zr19 rears, huge difference. Add the Nismo factory exhaust and you have a throaty (not obnoxious) luxury sports sedan that will do 0-60 in 4.5 all day long. Came from Germans and Jags, my 3 years old Red Sport has been far more reliable, and they are great looking !~!~!

    • @rmyAddison
      @rmyAddison 4 года назад +1

      I went with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, hate run flats, like bricks when it's cold. No spare, I have road side assistance and a commercial fix a flat just in case, the dealer price for a spare tire kit was ridiculous. The larger size 255/40/zr19 and 285/35/zr19 fit the stock wheels fine and transformed the car, way better ride comfort and handling.

      @mikesparrow2274 4 года назад

    I have a 2017 redsport and love it! my seats have 4 heat settings. Not sure what safety features this is missing it has every bell and whistle i can think of. In terms of value - when I bought mine the german cars with similar features were $15-20K (canadian) more and were missing 50-70 ponies under the hood, so id rate this a 10 for value. Twice I have gone car shopping for a Merc and both times came home with an Infiniti as they were much better value and had way more horsepower. I dumped the run flat OEm tyres for some Mich pilotsport 4S and its a completely different car. Much quicker, more agile, great braking, quieter just way way better. If you buy one, upgrade the tyres . I added the sport exhaust and it sounds much better too. Im 3 years in and loving this thing more every time I drive it.

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  4 года назад

      That’s excellent advice. I agree, better tires like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 plus and a sport exhaust makes it a completely different car and certainly something to contend with the Germans. I’ve always thought Infiniti has great build quality, they lack in a few other areas but for value it is great except for resale value.

    Love it. It's one of the best looking sedans in its class. I have a 15 hybrid with the tech package. V8 power with 4cyl economy. 36mpg avg.... And that's with lead footing it. When I'm conservative the average is 36mpg. Sub 5 sec to 60. Has the steer and break by wire. Will almost drive itself with stove lane assists and breaking. My only gripes are the exhaust could be meatier, you can feel the heft and you feel the brakes change from regeneration. Other than that is all love.

    Okay I’m starting to think Infiniti changed the fake engine noise for 2020 Q50’s. Anyone else think so? I’ve watched a couple vids of 2020’s that don’t make the obnoxious angry cat noise. Personally I’ve always hated the sound of this engine with the fake noise on so I turned mine off. I know a lot of people like it but it sounds too fake to my ears. It’s much better without it but it’s no German V6 or I6. Mine is a 2018 Q50 Red Sport. I wish it had the updated infotainment system, it looks a bit more responsive. This is a pretty favorable review overall which is nice, I think these cars are better than people give them credit. It does have multi state heated seats though, not sure why she said it doesn’t. You have low, medium, high and auto heat modes.

    I love my 2018 Q50 3.0t Lux. But once you get a taste of a little horsepower, you want more! Even though Infiniti and Nissan Corporation are in serious financial trouble and may not survive this latest problem with covid-19 killing car sales, I would love to get my hands on a real bargain priced Red Sport. For me the Infiniti Q50 checks all the boxes, it’s user friendly for a Senior like me and it handles any situation that comes down the road. It’s handles great on icy roads, snow, heavy rain and is rock solid at high speeds. I haven’t had any problems with the car except a small rattle coming from my windshield that was replaced by safelite (small pebbles and sand are a hazard living near the beach). I just have to wait to see how Nissan survives along with Infiniti and would like to see what they do with the 2021 model.

    This is quite possibly the most overrated entry-level luxury sport sedan in the market.This car model is out dated since 2014 it came out and still looks the same with minor rear light adjustment in 2017. I used to have a 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7L and yes i agreed it rides very well and performance is great so i can imagine a Red Sport 400 being twice better with 400 horses but the interior of this car is a mess with out dated technology features and old looking cheap materials. Even the Nissan Maxima looks better than this vehicle interior. There is a reason why this vehicle has a poor resale value. It wears off fast. Materials are very cheap and resembles lots of Nissan parts. This vehicle is not worth 60k. In fact in a year it will be worth 40k. There are so many vehicles you can get for less than 60k that has similar performances and better interior quality. The 2019 Genesis G70 3.3L is hands down better than this vehicle. I own this vehicle and I can tell you it makes this vehicle look out dated. I would also take the Kia Stinger GT 2 over this vehicle any day as well. I compared these two vehicles with the Infiniti Red Sports and just makes this car look like the most overrated vehicle in the market. Anyone trying to spend 60k on this vehicle should compare other vehicles first. Vehicles like Genesis G70, Kia Stinger (even base version), Acura TLX are less than 60k and is a better option than the Q50.

      Finally, for 2020. Talk about being behind. Toyota is just getting to it in 2020 as well. I don’t understand why some of these manufacturers think that their design is better. People want it to be intuitive. That’s what equals sales

      @@CarCoachReports Toyota's philosophy as I understand it is stability above all else. It is why their cars take years before they are updated. They want to maintain their reputation for bulletproof reliability. Infiniti being part of Nissan does not exactly have much of a reputation for reliability so the least they could do is make the latest tech available. Back to Toyota though, some of their choices are maddening. For example, the 2019 Corolla Hatchback does have Apple Carplay but does not have Android Auto. However for 2020 it has both and the Sedan is left with only Apple Carplay. How does THAT make any sense! The head units and software for both cars is IDENTICAL! SMH....

      Not big on SUV's myself and would never have one as my only car.. Although, I DO like the Bentaga, The Genesis Gv80, Q7 the 2020 Navigator and Aviator.
      Sports cars?
      The Brabus zmybach rocket 900 is a beautiful machine and my favorite car of all next to the Mulsanne.

    Great points but the biggest problem buying these new are when you try to sell it...resell value is just garbage. Which is why buying these used for 30k less is the great. 😁
