    Hoss is a good character, always being friendly and welcoming strangers. As well as his other brothers, even though Hoss maybe a bit naive but he is full of heart.

    What a great, great episode! George Kennedy has always been a top notch actor, and I just love the role he played here. He was also amazing in the classic movie Cool Hand Luke. Hoss always was the heart of this show and just can't help trying to look out for other people, usually at his own expense. The friendship he and Waldo developed was something special to see. That Cartwright clan are just pure class!

      I know him as Joe Patroni in Airport and how certain sue he was that he could bring that airplane to a stop with him at the wheel. I had to laugh at how pretty Hoss finally saw Nancy was only when Waldo was spending time with her. Ben knew because Adam and Joe had the same jealous reaction when their girls spent time with another man. With so many gun battles, shoot-outs and death, we need shows like The Scapegoat now and then.

    Hollywood has some fine actors now but none the caliber of John Wayne, Gregory Peck, Ward Bond, and of course the entire cast of Bonanza as well as so many other movies and series that just don’t exist today.

    • @doriangray2020
      @doriangray2020 2 года назад +2

      Are you out of your mind? Gregory Peck is head and shoulders above the likes of John Wayne. Peck was class and a gentleman. Wayne stated he believes in white supremacy. My god either you are trolling or you are the worst kind of human being.
      As far as ward…he was a one dimensional character actor who thrived as Wayne’s sidekick and shared his racist views.

    • @3Ddude101
      @3Ddude101 2 года назад

      @@doriangray2020 Lady I've seen you here before running people down with your judgemental snowflake attitude. Freedom of speech is one thing, but not when you go insulting people and hammering them with your twisted liberal viewpoints. You really display your ignorance of John Wayne passing judgement by one statement taken out of context. That was 1971 and he was referring only to Blacks in the ghettos who instead of trying to better themselves were selling drugs, pimping women, and committing crimes. He meant that Whites should basically still hold the reins until that segment of the Blacks eased up on the crime and began showing responsibility. His statement at the time was factual and logical. Wayne was certainly no racist. He had many Black friends such as Sammy Davis Jr. and Scatman Crothers and even chose to cast Black actors in his films like James Watkins and Sidney Poitier. He believed that blacks had an honest right to feel resentment toward and to dissent regarding their treatment and he was married to three Latino women. Hardly the views and actions of a white supremacist. The only troll I see here is you, always putting people down and judging them by your corrupt liberal attitude. No one wants to read your comments and be subjected to your warped and biased judgement calls so do us all a favor and kindly STFU.

    Adam, Joe and Pa showed remarkable forbearance. Why? They loved Hoss.

    Yet another western episode where someone gets "creased" by a bullet that grazes their head and that causes them to pass out. Who ever thought of that and why did something so ridiculous become such a staple? The episode was good until that gunfight. It's as if no-one knew anything about self-defense or guns. When I hear gunshots, I always have everyone run outside and stand in the open beside each other to give the attacker a good target. Then they decide to let the men ride away? Even the attack by the men was silly. Apparently they didn't want to waste any time on talking. Fun final scene with Hoss. :D

      Maybe Adam was going to help with the entertainment. After all he plays the guitar and has a beautiful voice., or had a sweetie waiting inside. He's too handsome and fine to be left out.

    A great episode. Yet there's always that one guy whom I have seen him always as the bad guy. He seems to fit the 'bad guy ' to a tee. I can't help but think he might've been that way all his life. And he always proves to be a chicken sh** bully/coward. And the bad guys always lose.

      Actually I read in a documentary some time ago that Pernell Roberts left the show when the producers threatened to cut off his weekly supply of new black Wrangler jeans.

    Great series. The director and continuity personnel always failed miserably when attempting to make the fight stunt performers look anything remotely like the character actors they were meant to look like.
