One of the main criticisms I've seen after the Twilight Renaissance against the books, and one I completely agree with, is how every single character apart from the protagonists were immensely more interesting and complex.
While I agree with the statement, I don't think it is a bad thing. Bland main characters to relate to surrounded by interesting ones to get invested on is a very common formula
i’ve been through electro shock therapy and it’s pretty rough. it messes with your short and long term memory but in no way ‘erases’ or causes amnesia. it causes gaps

Damn finally i hear my favorite character backstory, i think what i like about Alice is that although she tends to pursuade Bella to do what she wants she does so with good intentions, plus Bella not so good at making decisions it probably why Alice ended up as her bestie while normal Jessica was abandoned.
Foreigner here, so I don't know much about the topic, but what did the confederates do? Is this about the north and south fighting about human rights and slavery?
was this backstory actually in the books? I read them so many years ago, I don't remember. I always thought Alice has this memory loss thing and that's about it
I'm pretty sure they're in the books. I didn't really get into bonus material, but I remember this part of Alice's backstory. Maybe the majority was in Midnight Sun, but I remember reading it in the books. At least the asylum part.
Her books are YA even tho there are some triggering themes (but so did Speak which is also YA). And in another video on why Corinne hates breaking dawn a lot of the writing seems more grotesque and mature for YA. Yes, YA included 16 yr olds that can read something more descriptive and mature but also young people read YA too (12/13) and it's odd writing for the genre imo
@@katlynbrown3548parents need to have a serious conversation with their children before letting them read this backstory. The story that is the inspiration for this one is even more horrifying.
@@katlynbrown3548I've finished the series at 11. It really wasn't a big deal at the time, but Rosalie's back story gave me more discomfort than Alice's (and I'm mentally ill/bipolar)
Which I find interesting, because I finished watching “A Discovery of Witches” and wanted to read the books, and saw that they have many reviews saying it’s just Twilight with older people….but it seems that in those books, witches blood can sing to vampires….

Alice number 2. Give us your story
That vampire custodian should get a prequel.
Almost every other charater has a better story than what we got in Twilight
So Alice got the fucking Bruno Madrigal treatment
That's hilarious 😂

Love how you always remind us he'd a confederate

@@alovesinceforgotten Basically yes. Jasper was on the pro-slavery side...
@@alovesinceforgottenin a sense yes
Omg I love this !!
In meyers world does every human have powers?? Bc it seems like every vampire has powers before they get turned lol
no only certain special people.

Yes it is, I remember reading this when I was a teen
@@VictoriaTraduccioneswhich book? I read the whole series and don't remember her story. Breaking dawn was a challenge of focus sometimes 😂
@@Raebrainedthe first one. James tells Bella Alice's backstory
Except Carlisle... and Rosalie?
Rosalie killed people, albeit not in the usual way vampires do.
@@hannah60000
(I believe) Rosalie killed the men who had attacked her but didn’t feed off of them.
@thisaintnowownow and Bella
@@TarynRMartinshe did. I wish they showed it more in her movie flashback
She murdered the men that attacked her but she didn't feed from them or attack in the general way vampires do
I like how for Bella they managed to spin it as it's some kind of a good happy ending or something
Please do Jasper ❤
Rosalie didn't ever drink human blood though?
But she murdered her husband, no? I think that's why Carlisle is the only "innocent" true vegetarian
@Makenna_Knight the guy wasn't her husband. He had been her fiancée.
@@Maeglin7936 aaaah, true, I remember now. She was left for dead before the wedding and had her revenge in making him dead instead
@@Makenna_Knight yeah, but she didn't drink their blood.
her eyes were red? im p sure she did.
i guess early 1900s didn't include the invention of writing?
That's wild
Why does she use the word unalived isn’t the correct word killed?
Censorship
This was originally on tiktok and on tiktok you can't use the word 'killed' so people use 'unalived'.
For personal reasons, i feel there should be an age restriction on this backstory.

What's a singer?
I googled it and
“In the Twilight Saga, a “singer” is someone whose blood calls to a vampire, a bit like a siren singing”
Which I find interesting, because I finished watching “A Discovery of Witches” and wanted to read the books, and saw that they have many reviews saying it’s just Twilight with older people….but it seems that in those books, witches blood can sing to vampires….
Aro calls Bella Edward's singer in new moon. It's one specific person whose scent is essentially tailor made for you.
