Yesterday (14/10/2020) I had some spare time so I went for it following your video. It went like a dream and only took about 1 hour. I was surprised to find that most of the programs that were already installed still worked perfectly, (FlightSim X, and open office to name just a couple). You need open device manager, locate your wifi adapter, click properties, click update, and then click choose file from my computer, select again, and then hit update, afterward it'll ask to restart your computer, and if that doesn't fix it, unfortunately you'll have to do what I'm doing now, and for that you gotta reset your computer, and then just make sure your windows is activated with a license key
Same for me. Tried removing anti virus, but no joy. My guess is that a certain driver is causing the issue. I'm going to remove my camera and any other device drivers that are not needed and try again. I read on one forum that his Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard was causing this, and he fixed it by just plugging in a standard USB mouse/keyboard. I guess it is just a case of trial and error.
I don't even have any antivirus, run a full update on all other essential drivers but still locked at 48 % on the final update. Help please. Did any of you guys succeed at last? I have now ,after two days of trying, downloaded the setup to a USB and trying to run it. Will tell u guys if this works

12/26/2019: I've been trying this method all day today and i keep getting the following error:
0x8007042B - 0x2000D
The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation
This error usually occurs around 30% of the final installation phase. It will restart my computer and a message saying "Undoing changes made to your computer" will appear for a moment before starting windows 7 again.
If anyone can offer a solution to this I would greatly appreciate it!
same trying to upgrade allll day
Maybe your malware or antivirus is blocking the download? Turn them off maybe that work work.
Did two computers! March 2nd, 2020. Upgraded each from Windows 7 to 10. Both took about 1-2 hours each. Can't thank you enough!
When it says getting updates Mine is stuck at 46% 😤☹️
Hang in there, it sometimes takes ages...
Mine got stuck at 27% and then started undoing all the changes that had been made to my computer--back to Windows 7.
Do it again and skip the 'get updates' if possible. You can always get updates later.
@@joeb4117 How do you do that
I still haven't figured it out, and the manufacturer, Microsoft, won't help. They don't do cellphones anymore. It doesn't look like Dave wants to help ;) That's okay, I'll figure it out, somehow.
I did my installation today. This video helped a lot. It went smoothly and Dave's prompts are clear and accurate. You only really need to watch it once then you'll recognize each window as it comes up during the installation, and you'll know how to respond. Fantastic piece of work, Dave. Thank you,
Does anyone know if this is a permanent upgrade or temporary?
Permanent :)
@@DavesTechRescue Thanks so much! I just installed today, the last day, and everything works wonderfully! :D
Updated from W8.1 to W10 today (May 20th 2020) Sill works, Thank's Dave, you're a star!

I upgraded my two HP computers from 8.1 to 10: One the last of January 2020 and the other Feb. 7, 2020, after updating some old drivers. Thanks for your guidance.
Did this yesterday on a 12 year old Dell D620. Works like a dream, no problems. Thanks for sharing.
Great to know it worked, thanks Mick!
Dave's Tech Rescue meant to add, it’s got a 240GB SSD as a recent upgrade, still on 2GB of RAM too! Many thanks.
Upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 yesterday/today. Computer hung on a restart near the end, and leaving it overnight didn't solve anything, so switched off, restarted and it resumed updates at 85% and carried on to completion.
A bit hairy, but that's it done. Thanks very much for a concise how-to-do it video.
That's future-proofed my desktop PC for another few years!
Forgot to add that the check for 'Windows is activated' proved successful, and a new Product ID has appeared.
January 15th and I loaded windows 10 on to my windows 7 pc. Worked awesome. Can't thank you enough!!!

I updated my old PC and did another one last week, 1/25/2020 after my 74th birthday. :)
It took a long time, because I created a win7 Image on 4 DVDs + 1 recovery Boot-up DVD.
Both new installs were from Certified Windows 7 systems. Thanks for posting this money saving video! :)

I just finished upgrading my Desktop (XPS 8500) to Windows 10 using this same method. It took 1-1/2 hours total. January 9, 2020. Worked great; Windows 10 is activated.
Worked! It took a few hours to upgrade a laptop I hadn't touched for a couple of years. January 12, 2020.
I have been thrown the job that nobody wants to do in the company... a.k.a. Being the IT support when I'm the one with the least IT knowledge in an IT company... This video is a life saver!! Thank you so much!
Thank you Daves Tech rescue! I'm in the process of doing the windows 10 upgrade now!

Dude! I "just" ran this update today (Dec 8) and it totally worked on my old Windows 7 laptop. Fantastic! I have another whole computer now! Super helpful! :)
Many thanks Dave,
You gave an 80 yr. old confidence to update my Windows 7 to Windows 10 today (17th April 2020). It all went smoothly as you predicted including Automatic Activation. No problems with Driver incompatibility
And Windows 10 is not much different in its user Interface. from my loved windows 7!
Thanks John, pleased to hear it went smoothly! Stay safe and well.
Fabulous. Thank you so much. It’s the first time I have followed a video on you tube that showed me every step of the way and all my screens matched. I couldn’t have upgraded to 10 without you. Clear, Concise and successful. Over the moon, thank you so much Dave you are a star. X
It worked on January 6th, 2020. Yeah!!!. Thank you for your video 🙂
Installed last night (1/8/2020); took 3 hours. Everything went smoothly and all my apps and programs made the move successfully. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Thanks for the video, I randomly found it days before i was about to buy windows 10. Install went smooth, updating as I type this & the entire process went faster than watching the video twice.
It worked today. 12.16.19. I had to go through the whole process two times, but it appears to have been successful.
Thanks!!

Upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro .
Dell XPS 8300 (2011) / Intel Core i7-2600 @ 3.40 Ghz / 32Gb RAM / 2TB Sata III SSD / AMD Radeon HD 6450
Updated to the current version of Windows 10 (Version 1909/Os Build 18363.592). Like you mentioned some apps were not compatible with Windows 10 and were removed. Overall the upgrade went smoothly and without issues. Took about an hour.
Thank you for this post!
Upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 31/12/2019, no hassles. Disabled firewall & all proceeded without a hitch. Only thing I had to do was a network reset but this should not be necessary for most users- thanks for your video.
