- 11 L V-twenty-two via angethegreat's engine simulator.
i gave it an actual firing order this time:
(1-2-3-4-7-8-11-12-15-16-19-20-21-22-17-18-13-14-9-10-5-6)
~1500 hp & an excessively large torque that i can't remember right now.
unfortunately i can't run this simulation very quickly, mostly because it has 22 cylinders and i don't have a supercomputer. as a result, it sounds like a laser gun at high rpms.
it was tremendously difficult to get this working so i'd appreciate it if you'd show your support by remembering to drink water.

It sounds a V12 and a V10 simultaneously with some spaceship sounds mixed in, quite whacky but it makes sense
the goofy sci-fi sounds are because the sim doesn't run very fast. kinda unfortunate

These weird engines are really cool. I wanna hear even more stupid things like Inline 9s, Flat 14s, stupid X shaped engines, etc. Imo it's the most entertaining part of this simulator.
X engines are just rotary without the passion
Or go for some weird shit like a W9 or W18 (3 banks, not like a Volkswagen double VR), boxer 5 or maybe some odd double or tripple crankshaft pattern.
x is like a radial that stopped short
Some wacky layouts exist in real life: Honda made a V3 racebike engine, and then later a V5.

Gas turbine engines do not make much sound, M1 Abrams and T-80A are both very quiet for the horsepower in them, anything comparable sounds WAY louder.

Theoretically at 20 cylinders, the engine should be perfectly smooth. 22 cylinders is basically overkill.
The firing sequence of the cylinders on this engine says otherwise.
Edit: Nevermind I just saw that he gave it a real firing order.

you know what? it sounds like the Porsche Taycan's synthesized EV noise except with gear shifts and a little bit of extra growl. love it. would it be possible to make a W engine configuration? like the bentley W12 or the Bugatti W16?
both of those are possible in this program with a little cheese. the w12/w16 are basically just two vr6 and two vr8 engines respectively sharing a common crankshaft. you can make a vr6 or vr8 by setting up a normal v6/v8 with a very narrow bank angle. duplicate that and space them apart and you basically have the w layout.
I guess synthetic noise comes from aliasing issues maybe due to lot of sounds overlap
@@pinapple_pizza yeah, 10 cylinders or more gets hard for most CPU's (with some exceptions, mine lets me use a 12 cylinder but with the sim freq turned down a bit

That's an audio glitch
The display is running at 60 fps but the engine simulation has to run much much faster for the sound to be good, ange the guy who makes the program says something like 32000 fps

@@Sam-km3qv A frame is visual object. Audio samples are not frames, so you can't measure sample rate in frames per second.

We seem to have forgotten to increase the crankshaft inertia value to simulate the giant flywheel and the several dozen kilogram crankshaft, and I think we forget to up the piston and conrod weights too XD
This v22 is scary accurate. Down to the deceleration tone it makes under load. So amazing.
How about an X-44 two of these engines next.

Imagine trying to run mechanical ignition on this. You'd need 2 V12 distributors remanufactured to run only 11 cylinders for each bank, and you'd have to time them independently, presumably off the intake cams for each bank.

Very cool. Im too dumb to get custom engines to work very well. I have an absurdly large displacement V8 I made, though I cant get its throttle to respond.
You might need to increase the intake (and/or exhaust) flow value, or even the valve duration. If throttle does nothing, it might not be the main bottleneck in the intake. Also make sure you have a timing curve on the ignition, else it won't climb very high (in my experience trying to set up a tiny v4, shouldn't matter as much if it's low revving).

The game uses a single core for all the processes, so no. No you can't untill it either becomes multi core or stronger cpu's arrive.

1560hp out of an naturaly aspirated 11L engine is actually really good. The helephant, strongest NA engine for sale, makes 1000HP with 7L
The Hellephant has a 3L supercharger. The strongest NA engine for sale from an OEM is the ZZ632 Chevy Big Block, making 1000 hp from 10.3L. The strongest overall NA performance engine for sale is the Sonny Racing SAR 1005 makes 2100 hp from nearly 16.5L.
