  • In this video, I talked about another confrontation between a student and teacher at Frederick Douglas HS in Baltimore Maryland. A Snapchat clip reveals why the student punched the teacher. I also provided an update of Marston Riley’s situation.

So what do you guys think about this situation in Baltimore ? Whats your perspective on the student hitting the teacher here versus the teacher hitting the student in LA?

I think this shows the new normal in situations that most of us don’t encounter which is an environment surrounded by violent, remorseless kids without a conscience trying to show off. Or emotionally disturbed kids without a safe home structure and terrible role models. But an urban school with violent kids will have no teachers working there if after a few weeks your safety is in danger for opening a book to do some good. So is Mr. Riley a role model? No. He is an example of what happens when a human who wants to do good is repeatedly pushed to his limits intentionally by someone who, in this case, was challenging him to a fight. The logic is clear. Ask for a fight, get a fight. This was Mr. Riley’s retirement moment and I wish him a safe future. I’m sure he has learned from this.

Kitty LeMew Well said! I’m in no way trying to “glorify” teacher beating children but this is what happens when people (including children) are pushed to their limits. I wish Mr. Riley the best as well. The same lesson that he probably wanted to teach his students applied to him: Actions have consequences. Thanks for commenting !

Is what happens when you take away the parent's ability to discipline. There's no respect in the home why should there be respect in that school

Elizabeth Singleton This is very true. I understand some people go too far but there has to be some boundaries in place. Thank you for your thoughts !

Was the first student (the girl) ever arrested?? They should throw her in jail! She was probably going around beating her teachers up before she moved to Baltimore for her "new start". Her behavior is disgusting! 🤦‍♀️
As for Mr. Riley, he had every right to defend himself in that situation. That kid got what he deserved.

The problem though is that kids learn shit from their parents or even mimick their friends or even the environment they live in. This is not an assumption because I believe this happens in every neighborhood now and days whether it’s urban or suburban.

We don't need to pay teachers more. They only work 8-9 months out of the year. They make like 50,000 or more for that. Thats enough!

Not in LA or NYC. That amount of money is poverty level in those cities
