@@DaisyMae1975LOVEIn many jurisdictions, a teacher would be fired for hitting a student when the student was not a physical threat and didn't have a weapon.
I was a teacher for many years in inner city schools and I never had to engage in physical confrontations although I would try to move between combatants as that would give them the excuse to back down.
We have a big unemployment problem and I think we should have security in all class rooms to instill discipline. They would be trained to act in ways that would not be physical. They could take the student(s) to separate time out locations and determine a proper course of action whether it be in school suspension up to expulsion and court proceedings.
As a teacher, I was often faced with having to interrupt a lesson in order to handle discipline issues. The security would not just benefit the class' progress but also benefit from having a good job. As a consumer they would help stimulate the economy while being able to resolve their own economic issues. They could be drug tested and offered training and chances to become teachers themselves by having tuition paid for evening or summer classes to develop their skills and areas of expertise.
At the same time, the teacher and class would benefit from not having so much time wasted off topic.

@@DaisyMae1975LOVE I retired a number of years ago and I agree that many students seem to have had as their goal trying to prevent the lessons from being too rigorous. This way they can pass without much effort.
Some of the problem comes from putting students in classes where they are not able to function well or where they have not been motivated properly.
I taught Spanish and ESL and in some schools a student could fail the first semester of the year and still be kept with the class for the second semester. This does not work because the failing students get farther and farther behind and then some of them don't care and can try to distract and/or disrupt.
Teaching a class like that is like trying to run a dog sled where some of the dogs are not pulling but just dragging their paws.
In other schools it worked better because a student who failed the first semester would have to repeat it or drop the subject.
When a student is engaged and progressing he/she is seldom a big behavior problem. And when more students are cooperating it is contagious and the trouble makers lose their audience approval.

The meaning of the word; is ignorance its used to degraded disrespect and make the person who uses the word feel ignorantly superior ..The teacher could have just called him one back but he gave him a better lesson! I have worked alone side educators myself and I have seen students physically fight Teachers just because they were seen skipping. Teens nowadays will "try" an adult. This teen stepped to this adult like he was one and could handle him and he was dealt the hand he reached for. He was told multiple times to leave yet this aggressor continued. If he is disrespectful to his elders who teach him I can only imagine how disrespectful and mild mannered he maybe with his parents who raised him!
