This was so helpful! I have several 2 year old Grossos and only pruned/harvested them once last year. This year I have the issue with splaying and your video perfectly explained my situation and how to fix it. Thank you! Gorgeous farm!
Thank you for sharing! When is the best time to prune, for zone 7b? We're in a heat wave too, so I've been hesitant. The lavender has has not been pruned since it was planted a year, maybe two, ago.
I usualy prune it 6-8 weeks before the first frost date, every zone has a first frost date! I am in 6B so the first frost date is in the middle of october! If you want you can give it a hard prune, even in the hard wood part, but with care, only if you have new green growth under the cut!
Your lavender faces beautiful, but between the hardwood and the hybrid big as they stand out from each other, there are only tiny differences, and why don't you grow hardwood lavender.
Thanks anyway for the answer, I was referring to what you said, that is, we have agustifoglia lavender and a hybrid, but we do not grow latifoglia lavender.
Here in Italy it is easy for me to get confused between one variety and another: per example latifoglia lavender is defined by different names; Spigo, grosso, male lavender, aspic, Spanish lavanda , for this reason I tried to make some clarity and, as well as agustifoglia is defined in many ways, real lavender, fine lavender, officinalis Lavanda . English lavanda et
@@enricodondero4681 in Romania we can't grow spanish lavender, Stoechas, its not winter hardy, so for us just angustifolia and the hibrid x intermedia! ☺️
Thank you so much for the information..
Wow didn't expect the difference to be this big ! Thank you for sharing 😄❤️
