Most reactors I watch react to songs I already know. This song/band is the only one I recently discovered via a reactor. Wow, I can't believe I somehow missed this one. A perfect blend of Prog Metal, Symphonic Metal, and Folk Metal. This is definately a band destined to take the Metal world by storm. Can't wait for their new album to come out.

I was very late to the Noa Gruman/Scardust/Hellscore dance, but I’m all in and absolutely head over heels in love with them, and you have only scratched the surface of this deep & talented outfit!
Everything they have done to date has been so well composed and performed and produced! It’s a shame (no, a crime!) they aren’t getting more publicity than they are, but I believe their time is coming(.) It’s coming in drips & pours, but the dam is cracking……
Now that you’ve ridden this first wave, your next dive should be “Sands of Time, Act V” or “Mist” or “Arrowhead” before jumping into the more progressive deep end!
Thanks for the enthusiastic, warm, smart response/reaction!

What a great surprise from you to make a reaction video to my new favorite (symphonic) progressive metal band from Israel with stellar musicians and a vocal beast Noa Gruman, who:
    1. makes her own stage outfits
    2. writes the lyrics & co-composes the songs with her friend Orr Didi, who just recently replaced the original bassist of the band
    3. has served her two year military service with the Israeli armed forces
    4. conducts the Hellscore choir that has performed with bands like e.g. Therion, Ayreon & Amorphis
    5. is a classically trained pianist & cellist, although she doesn't play these instruments with Scardust
    6. has also been working with the Israeli opera as 1st soprano & also with Zubin Mehta
    7. worked on her extreme vocals with Floor Jansen (Nightwish) for two years online and has over an octave wider range (i.e. 4,5 octaves) than Floor & e.g. Simone Simons (Epica), Tarja Turunen (ex Nightwish) & the late Whitney Houston.
P.S. Noa also co-produced and edited this music video & the song is the opposite of Scardust - Huts (Official Music Video) ruclips.net/video/_CvItV_Fpew/видео.html
P.S.S. Noa's big sister was playing the violin on the right hand side of the male violinist & her younger sister was in the Hellscore choir wearing the only red dress.

Most reactors are here on RUclips to make money, so they deliberately react to artists/bands they know will attract the mosr views, which is a big problem for new & even better artists/bands that are waiting to be discovered by the masses. Do you know any song from Cellar Darling, where Anna Murphy plays more hurdy-gurdy? In most videos I've seen so far, she is more singing than playing. Compare that to Patty Gurdys multi-layered-hurdy-gurdy-version of "The Longing", where all "instrument-sounds" are produced with her hurdy-gurdy. I have to admit, what I'd really like to see, would be a song of these two ladys together, maybe adding even more hurdy-gurdys. Something like a "real-hurdy-gurdy-only-folk-metal-song". :D

Thanks for the review. I'm wondering a little bit, why all these reviews about this song are published now - but better late than never. I agree with you, that Scardust deserves much more attention. They are announced as support band for Blind Guardian for their next tour (October 2023). Hopefully this will help. Well, Patty could of course also "use" more followers (which artist couldn't?), but she already has many more than Scardust (now 370k on her youtube-channel). I hope that we will see and hear more of the combination Scardust + Hellscore + Patty in the future.

Interesting you mention how the hurdy-gurdy reminds you of bagpipes (I imagine that is because of the background drone notes). In Patty's collaboration with d'Artagnian (Farewell - ruclips.net/video/ckSEnb_I3Zg/видео.html) she plays alongside the bagpipes. Awesome song, short but full of energy and tight harmonies, and German lyrics...

Hi Rosalie! You've just reacted to maybe the most interesting band at the moment for me at least. Like you said this music genre is not for everyone. But it is for me. I'm into prog and prog metal.
And i'd call this band a fusion prog metal band. Based on their material so far. This song is probably kind of the middle of the hardness and complexity of their songs. And quite easy to the ears for someone who has not used to listen this kind of music. This group is extremely talented both in playing and composing complex songs without losing the feeling and melodies in songs. But the most impressive (for me, ex musician) is Noa. Her vocal ability and voice is something you just can't find everyday. This song just gives you a hint what kind of vocalist we are talking about here. Those band members are very lucky to have a vocalist like her in the band. There are few songs in their catalogue which shows Noa's incredible talent and range and versatility. I don't think there is any other singer out there at her level. In rock/pop music anyway. (Or any other...) But that's no wonder, her whole family is very talented. Her father and her sisters and brother are seen singing and playing with Scardust. Actually in this video there is her sister playing one of the violin. And her sister sings in the choir too. Musical family. Noa conducts the Choir, and i have to say it brings some very cool, not so often heard, element in prog music. It fits very well in their songs. And that bass player, Orr, not only a great musician, is responsible with Noa for these great tunes. This band has had quite many line-up changes so far, (original only the drummer and Noa), so it worries a little how they can keep all things together, but we'll hope for the best.
You're reaction is just spot on, i'll concur everything you said. You have to react an other song from them, even if it's not your cup of tea 😁. But thanks for this great reaction and analysis!!! 😎

Since then my channel has grown significantly, allowing me more room to feature certain artists. Also, I believe the artist and their video views (perhaps it was way lower at the time) may have grown which is helpful on my end. Please remember we agreed on a different artist that I did then react to for you. I gave you various options and we came to a mutual agreement. I tried to find something that worked for you. Hey there from a fellow Elliott (yes, with two 'l's and two 't's)! 😀In this video there is a subliminal suggestion to the final scenes where Noa and Patty are exiting the VR of the video in the destructed environment, their eventual concrete cages. If you pause the video right about the line "The Earth is worn" and step frame by frame you will find two non-consecutive frames of Noa and Patty in the final environment in the same choreography as they are in the forest scene. I thought the distortion was a bit odd so I went searching frame by frame and discovered this. (On RUclips, when paused the period and comma keys will move 1 frame forward and backwards, respectively. At least on US keymaps, I'm not sure about other countries' keyboard mappings.)

    • @Sembazuru

@RosalieElliott On a more personal note, if you (like I) don't take yourself and last name too seriously, here is a humorous poem that I found on the Elliot clan website some time ago:
The double L and single T
      Descent from Minto and Wolflee,
The double T and single L
Mark the old race in Stobs that dwell.
The single L and single T
The Eliots of St Germains be,
But double T and double L,
Who they are nobody can tell.
Yeah... really fits my sense of humor. 🤣I hope you also enjoyed it.

Some of my favorite folk metal bands that have Hurdy Gurdys are Eluveite , Cellar Darling, Saltatio Mortis, and Feuerschwanz. Recommend Eluveite's Inis Mona and Omnos to get more Hurdy Gurdy. Yoohoo - one of my all time favourite music videos! Not only for the fact of the collaboration of Israeli artists with a German artist or the music itself. But if you ever saw someone having the time of his life performing in a music video it's got to be the bass player! This is so much fun to watch.
Everyone of them, Scardust, Hellscore Choir and Patty Gurdy (btw: you might want to use the good old German word "Drehleier" to avoid tongue twisters in the future😉💛) is worth a more detailed look into their work. They all are oustanding in their own right seperately. Although I must admit that Patty, as good as she sounds in her videos and recordings, is a little less impressive when she sings live.
There are quite some impressive and surprising collaborations of the same sort out there: (another) Noa, (Achinoam Nini) an Israeli artist as well, did a recording of her original song "Savior" in collaboration with Peter Maffay - very recommendable! And (again the other) Noa did a cover of "Imagine" from John Lennon together with Cheb Khalid, an Algerian artist who had an international hit single with "Aisha". That's the beauty of music - it is able to cross borders even when the "common man/woman" is either not able or does not want to do so.
Eine Empfehlung ist auch eine kurze Doku über die Zusammenarbeit von Noa und Peter Maffay im Rahmen seines Projekts "Begegnungen": ruclips.net/video/UYMV3ASatXE/видео.html

Hello Kenneth, hope this email finds you well. Saw your comment/reply and wanted to follow up. Would love to add some music from Israel (that has been on my to do list), but unfortunately only able to add artists that already have a significant following and after a quick check, I noticed Stardust doesn't yet. The reason why I need to be careful with which artists/channels I feature on mine is due to RUclips algorithms. A channel can be heavily affected and viewed less, lose significant views and focus on YT and how the system works when doing so (learning from fellow reactors). Is there any other song/band you would be interested in me reviewing at this time? As my channel grows and m y foundation is steady, meaning I have a strong following and don't need to worry about YT taking me off the map, I may be able to add these other videos, but just currently have to be more careful. Regarding your coffee question, I am currently only able to take one request at a time, due to the time and effort it takes making a video. Everyone can make one suggestion, as long as it abides my channel policies, and can purchase how ever many coffees they like to support the channel. It is less a coffee per song, and rather a request for how ever many coffees you wish or are able to sponsor. Does that make sense? Pls let me know if you have any other questions. I am confident we will find the right song to add that you will greatly enjoy
