Finn Frost-Jackson You make a great point! I’d would apply at SB Nation to make a rugby bed history video. I’d also add New South Wales and Queensland’s rivalry/beef
I only went back to look at our 02 World Cup run the other day. Keane would have helped us beat Spain that day we were much the better side on the day but we lacked a leader. We conceded too often, usually first and Ian Harte missing that peno still keeps me awake at night. I was lucky enough to be in Landtowne when we beat Holland and Keane was magnificent, we were down to ten men too. Gary Kelly was sent off for nearly breaking Overmars' leg. I was also at McCarthy's last game against Switzerland. Crazy to think we went from being a stone's throw away from the World Cup quarter finals to being hopeless in the Euro qualifiers.
I'd really like SB to cover something about the self destruction of the France football team in 2008. The mutiny, the failure to play that well and get good results, following their run to the World Cup final and 2nd world ranking.
In France, 2010 (the Knysna fiasco) is definitely remembered as a more traumatic episode that had a more lasting effect on the national team's credibility and ended several players' international careers.
it's not really a personal rivalry like this and the others in the series, from all accounts Messi and Ronaldo get along very well. Now keane and Veira is one i'd watch

" cmon keane, you cant acually curse out your boss" * looks up and watches video of Steve Austin stunning Vince Mcmahon then screaming in his face and flipping him the double birds while Vince is convulsing on the ground *
Please do a rewinder on some kind of rugby , like Wales Vs England in the 2015 world cup/ Japan Vs south Africa also in 2015 world cup/ Japan Vs Ireland 2019 world cup. I love your videos and I love rugby so I really want a combination of the two
Captain Fantastic Roy Keane, who captained some of the best players we have seen, under one of the greatest managers. He won 7x Premier League Titles, Champions League Winner, 4x FA Cup Winner, 4x Community Shield, UEFA Intercontinental Cup, Scottish League Winner, Scottish League Cup winner. Premier League Footballer Of The Year, 2x Irish Footballer Of The Year. What's even crazier, he won 7 Premier League titles in 10 years, he also won 2 Doubles and a Treble in 4 years, that's how dominate United were. This is a period where Football in my view was at its peak, with World Class players in all teams home and in Europe. The teams at International were unbelievable, full of legendry players. Yet Keane would dominate teams on his own at International level, look what he did against Juventus 1999 Champions League Semi Final. He dominated a midfield of Deshchamp, Davids, Conte and Zidane, putting in one of his best ever Performances He came up aginst one of the great teams in Arsenal, when they had a star studded side Bergkamp, Pires, Petit, Vieira, Henry etc. Yet on most occasions Keane came out on top against Vieira, he scored two goals at Highbury to beat Arsenal. You will never see a player like this again, he was a one off. He was a winner, his mentality was to win no matter what. So that's why he was fed up with Ireland and the set up. They were not prepared, had no balls, no kits, terrible pitches to train on, yet it was only Ireland, who cares. That's what made Keane angry and then being called out for faking an injury, what a ridiculous thing to do before a World Cup. I believe 100% Mccarthy didn't want Keane to go and was trying to get him to kick off, as he was angry about the newspaper interview Keane did. Where he said he didn't respect Mick, the rest of the Irish players were babies, not speaking up and accepting the conditions. That's why apart from Irwin and Roy, no Irish players have gone on to win stuff and are now a struggling Nation in Football.
I think you missed an important point. Keane didn't miss matches because he was being awkward, he missed them because he was becoming more injury prone as he got older. He had a number of recurring injuries that he had to manage and that meant missing none essential games for club and country
Goddamn Keano, he was a damn legend, there's no denying that, but he coul've played in a World Cup if he just compromised a little. Guess you could argue his no-compromise attitude is what made him great in the first place... But it's a damn shame, truly one of my favorite players, I can't avoid thinking he could've gotten more out of his career.

They would have won the quarter finals and the semi's, and will never know if Keane denied himself the honour of lifting the World Cup.
Its fate, he was destined to win the greatest honour ever, but that would have made him better player, person than Mick McCarthy, and even Keane knows his place.💛🖤🐺
Finally another soccer-themed beef history!
Can we have Mauro Icardi vs Maxi Lopez next?
Didn't know a thing about either of these guys, but really enjoyed this post.
BRIAN CLOUGH and DON REVIE BEEF HISTORY!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!
Bro!!! So dope. Glad you got some soccer on here
'Mick McCarthy an Irish soccer sensation' 😂
Big Mick must’ve written the script
“Captain fantastic’!
yessss! you guys should do more beef in the football / soccer world
You know it’s American when they say “zero zero” rather than “nil nil” and “tie” rather than “draw”
Another fine job, Clara!
I watched this vid even though I don't like soccer/football.
keane was the definition of "no nonsense" lol Great video
There is soooooo many extreme beefs in the world of Football..... Keep it up
When’s the Mariners part 7 dropping?
It's a 6 part series. There is no part 7.
2025
when jon bois admits he created coronavirus
when they lose to the Padres in Game 7 of the 2025 world series.
Roy Jones vs Antonio Tarver or Bernard Hopkins beef history please! Love this channel & beef history!
yoooooo when we getting rewinder for the 91 world series?
Nicely put this 👍
As beef History or Rivalry: All Blacks and Springboks
it'd be sick to have some rugby on here, but I can't really think of much beef tbh. the all blacks and springboks respect eachother so much I doubt it'd be that interesting besides the poison thing
Finn Frost-Jackson You make a great point! I’d would apply at SB Nation to make a rugby bed history video. I’d also add New South Wales and Queensland’s rivalry/beef
@@finnfrost-jackson139 You could do Quade Cooper vs the country of New Zealand, haha.
@@finnfrost-jackson139 they could do a beef history of world rugby vs rugby (sport) or rugby (fans)
Damn, the commentary is incredibly enthusiastic and they clearly care about this topic.
“Scoring twice in Ireland’s four nothing (4:0) win” 😂
Been a fan of this show for a while, but never thought they’d do it on Ireland, and on my favourite player growing up
“Saying you respect the other guy is like pouring ketchup on a steak. It ruins the beef.”
Not for Patrick Mahomes.
@Alex Vratsanos He's the exception to that and a whole lotta other stuff
Ty Regehr the exception that proves the rule?
Roy Keane was/is a miserable, labile, volatile, contemptuous headcase.
No he isnt
shiv singh What a rebuttal
The same qualities that made Keane a great player are the same qualities that make him unbearable as a human being
Keane a quitter
A winner. End of.
Yesssss more football PLEASE
I'd really like SB to cover something about the self destruction of the France football team in 2008. The mutiny, the failure to play that well and get good results, following their run to the World Cup final and 2nd world ranking.
In France, 2010 (the Knysna fiasco) is definitely remembered as a more traumatic episode that had a more lasting effect on the national team's credibility and ended several players' international careers.
This is a really good explainer of a long saga. Fair pay.
Nice to have an American take on this famous rivalry! Next: Messi vs Ronaldo
I don't think there has ever been outright beef between the two. However Messi fanboys vs Ronaldo fanboys would definitely be one worth doing
it's not really a personal rivalry like this and the others in the series, from all accounts Messi and Ronaldo get along very well. Now keane and Veira is one i'd watch
not really a rivalry as in beef
We need a rewinder on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s short corner against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinal. That moment is one of the most dramatic moments in the past few years.
I love your videos and I love rugby so I really want a combination of the two
As an Irish man, this is sad given the fact we have glen whealen playing midfield
And Paul McShane in defense
Roy Keane might be my new favorite person I just learned about
How tf is water a key ingredient in making savory beef?
I know😂😂
Great stuff keep up the good work
Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon next
RUclips algorithm, thank you. It’s an old video but I love the narrator
SB Nation, you need to make a "Mourinho vs Wenger beef" video. Priceless.
Love this channel, but please never use the word “scrimmage” on a football (soccer) video again 😂
Clara's comedic timing and semi-calling of the pettynes(In the cases that the beef isn't so important so others) it's perfect to beef history
It's not even funny tho
This is why Keane is compared to Michael Jordan. He was an absolute winner, if you weren't up to his standards, then you were gonna hear it from him
I think you missed an important point. Keane didn't miss matches because he was being awkward, he missed them because he was becoming more injury prone as he got older. He had a number of recurring injuries that he had to manage and that meant missing none essential games for club and country
Someone should do "the creation of SB nation deserves a deep rewind"
Goddamn Keano, he was a damn legend, there's no denying that, but he coul've played in a World Cup if he just compromised a little. Guess you could argue his no-compromise attitude is what made him great in the first place... But it's a damn shame, truly one of my favorite players, I can't avoid thinking he could've gotten more out of his career.
"You can stick it up your bollocks." I'm... not sure Roy is entirely clear on what part of the body that is.
😂😂😂😂😂
