Great series of videos...well done to you and Shaun esp with walking in pain for those days. Very touching moment for you both on Rannoch Moor i bet. Would love to walk it again...hoping my son will walk it with me before i get too old. Congrats
Hi and thanks for watching. Yes nice to share that moment on Rannoch with my son. I hope one day he may walk it again with me and enjoy it more next time. All the best, Carl
Cheers Andy. Hope you're well mate. Thanks for watching and hope the videos are keeping you entertained. Hope they may inspire you to film your next trip down the way 👍 All the best mate, Carl
Great set of videos Carl once again and well done Sean for keeping going to the end. On my many WHW walks I’ve only seen 2 red squirrels. One at Bridge of Orchy just beside the derelict primary school and the other was beside the Drovers Inn in the grounds of Rose Cottage. Two places for you to look next time. Mind you I look at these two places every time and I’ve never seen them again. Good luck next time. Robert
Thank you Robert, both for the positive feedback and the info on the red squirrels. I thought it was just me! I've walked many areas across Scotland, Yorkshire and Cumbria where I've seen signs saying to watch out for them but every single time has been a no show. Oh well, maybe one day ! Thanks for Watching, all the best, Carl
Hi Carl, I have watched all your West Highland Way films now and I will certainly be revisiting them multiple times, before my solo walk planned for April 2024. The filming, narration and your knowledge of the West Highland Way is fantastic, thank you for sharing and taking the time to film, edit and upload all the films. I know I’m late to the party but after driving through Glen Coe over the last 40 years on holiday in Scotland 🏴 I thought it was about time I did the walk. I’m almost 60 now with some health issues, but there is always lots of excuses not to do something, I’m looking forward to it and your films are helping a lot with my research. Thank you, and take care, regards, Chris. 🍻👍👍👍
Thanks again Chris. I myself didn't walk the way until I was 50. I've done it 5 times now. I didn't film the 4th time at all and the fifth time which was earlier this year features in a couple of my most recent uploads. Beinglas to rannoch and 2 lochs 2 pals etc. I'm potentially going to be walking it again around the same time as yourself next year as I've been asked by a couple of friends to accompany them when they walk it for the first time. Who knows maybe our paths will cross? 👍
Well done to you both and a very good achievement by Shaun considering his discomfort on his knee. Its not easy when you have an ailment like that, Especially with still away to go. So well done, And I hope he is looking forward to giving it another go sometime in the future. Well done to you both, All the best Andy
Yes I haven't picked up the camera in over a year and had decided to close the channel. However after much persuasion and encouragement from friends I've decided to return and give it another go. Thanks for reaching out and commenting. It'such appreciated. All the best, Carl
Great videos of the WHW and well done to Shaun for finishing. The videos and commentary were really helpful especially showing the wild camping spots. I’m walking the route in April 2023, three nights wild camping, one night in a hostel and one night camping at Kinlochleven. Just wondered how you got to Milngavie and back from Fort William, I’m driving up to Milngavie however still not sure how to get back from Fort William to Milngavie.
Hi Michael and thank you for your kind comments. I'm glad you found the videos helpful and may I recommend you watch my winter series for other wildcamping locations etc. I wish you good luck with your own trip - it's a great experience. I travelled all the way up from my home in Lincolnshire by train and back down again. However when I returned on the train their were people who had left their cars at milngavie. I've just looked on lner website and this journey as a single is listed as £32.50. it will take you along probably the most beautiful line in the country and is well worth the cost. If you have any queries ahead of your trip I may be able to help you with please don't hesitate to ask. All the best, Carl
