It's funny because no one else but architects and architecture students can understand how we just notice every detail in a building and enjoy as if we're in a theme park. Haha.
Btw. you leave grease on the walls when you touch them. And the more people do it, the faster and thicker gets the layer and soon the walls don't reflect the sound anymore like the were designed to do.
Wow, it is awesome, that you guys show each detail of this building, firstly when I saw this philharmony I thought "Oh.. Next pretty interesting modern building" but now I think it isn't just next modern building. Thanks guys! Great job of Herzog & de Meuron :D
The building is amazing and beautifully detailed. And I love how your video captured its and your exuberance. That said, where did you get those cool eyeglasses?
Hi Carey we made it ourselves. completely customized and adjusted to your face shape with grasshopper. one of us designed it and did 3D printing himself. let us know if you are interested :)
Really like videos you guys made. Love it! Thank you so much for making them and showing us what is happening on the other side. Let me know if you guys are ever coming to Tokyo!
Fantastic video guys, very informative and concise. From one architecture student to another, this would have been a captivating experience of great architecture.
I generally like this building but I have to say the section is a stunning resemblance to Berlin Philharmonic, only with a bigger poche. Of course, we can always say opera houses come in similar spatial configurations or great minds think alike, but this time I tend to be more critical about this. Just a personal opinion.
Hi Tian.. You are right that the elbphilharmony is clearly referring to it. Especially the setup of the big hall is done similarly. This kind of stage space was somehow invented by scharoun the architect of the building in berlin. And when he used to draw the building by making sections every few meters, this one was done with the help of digital tools. Both had to go beyond traditional methods of architectural production :)
That's definitely good to know. Looking into matured techniques surely helps when handling a building of this size and potential importance. Really hoping to find a chance for a visit in 2017 :)
i like your concept;, and the fact you add the section and texts on vidéo. But maybe it would have been beter with more of long duration shot of the architecture. Less of your faces and more of the building, to let us appreciate it by oursleves, and have the time to do it : )
the next building!! ... maybe... :) i think it depends on the way the entire space is perceived. If (for example) we talk about Jewish museum in Berlin, that would probably be more clear through plans. thanks for the input!

Yes! I'm gonna have an absolute blast when i go to Europe this summer.
When you're a construction and history geek, it's like Disneyland
Its like appreciating a huge painting that you are inside of
Your enthusiasm is infectious. Nice vid guys.
One of your best videos. Love the section showing where you are in the building. Keep it up!
Exciting renew project! And most excited me is the section al idea showing your location which is rare in RUclips somehow. Pls keep doing this
hooo thank for appreciating that! took it so long.. but we hope it worked out better in order to understand where you are in the building.
Really love the video, informative, very enthusiastic and lot of fun.. keep pushing guys!

The last thing those walls should do, is reflect sound!!! They are designed to absorb it
Don't expect users not to do that. For me, it would be a design mistake.
Your work is great, thank you !
So happy watching this video. Thanks for making this one!
This is my second watch and the building still makes me amazed.

The building is amazing and beautifully detailed. And I love how your video captured its and your exuberance. That said, where did you get those cool eyeglasses?

Hi Carey we made it ourselves. completely customized and adjusted to your face shape with grasshopper. one of us designed it and did 3D printing himself. let us know if you are interested :)
donotsettle Amazing. I should see if one of my architects is familiar with Grasshopper and Rhino.
