+Minjaniq oh please explain to me how it fucking misses the point of having a lock screen? and just FYI this is called added functionality. just because its new/unfamiliar doesn't mean you have to start hating it. bet you hate Apple as if it had killed your mother as well
+Ushira Dharmaratne Well the name said it "Lockscreen". I my self turn all the notification of that apps use and stop them from running in the background. Let me tell you one thing. How cleaner your phone is of shit like add-ons and whatever how faster and better it will be for yourself and the phone.
touchwiz is a BEAST now ?? the interface doesnt have unnecessary gimicks anymore. i luv it. b4 the release of s6 it was shit and more laggy than my windows 95.
I would but with different launchers you loose certain Samsung functionality that the original launcher has. I do like what I see so far and the fact some of it can be cut off its looking like a nice mixture of stock and few custom roms put into one. I stopped using samsungs a while back because of build quality way back when along with the laggy Samsung software. They have drastically improved both with the gs6 and note5. I will say the ram management is a bum deal. Overall I will say it is worth me going back to the note series. The software hopefully will be better this next go around since many have complained about the ram management.
gasolara2002 Idk how you think about root on your phone but if so. You can use exposed framework to install parts of Samsung you like and don't like. For example when i long press volume key's i can skip tracks. or change the lock screen patren to 4x4. You can get parts form every skin or actions other companies use.
I don't really like to root my phone because of my job and what type of information I hold on my phone. I use my android for more of a work phone since it does it better than my iPhone.
I actually REALLY love this since launch, and it's steadily getting better through updates. All it needs is a dark or black theme and it'll be absolutely perfect for me. But so far, it's pretty damn good.
I've been using it for two weeks now on my S6 Edge and its flawless. been waiting for such a thing for a while now. always preferd stock android feel and this one delivers. disabled all shortcuts and unwanted things, chaned color theme and all set and done. lockscreen feels just like nexus and notification panel as well. highly recomended.
Samsung, I think you've finally convinced me to return from my custom ROM back to Touchwiz - I never thought this day would come. Not only that, but you actually listen to the users and have added and modified Good Lock to cater to feedback, absolutely fantastic.
+Nathaniel Erlandsen But he lives in Germany (I think) because he has the app Öffi on his phone (public transportation app for Germany), and the WiFi network he is connected to is KDG-... which is the standard WiFi name for routers of Vodafone Kabel Deutschland
10/10 best looking Android phone ever made. Especially the golden Edge model. I just wish Human fingers were naturally oleophobic so we wouldn't have to deal with fingerprints
It's not necessarily more complicated, just more powerful in terms of capabilities that the device can do, especially in organization and launching of apps.
it's good to know that it's there if anyone would like to use it. it surely has captured my interest and it's good to know android is continously stepping up customizability. It surely beats Apple's strict restrictions to their users. Keep it up Samsung/Android!
+Danni Plays Yea i see what u mean, but at least they offer that stuff to android users. And i'm sure someone in this world would use it and find it to their liking. You see it as unncessary, I see it as another option to replace just a vanilla lock screen with some nice features. I appreciate ur opinion tho haha but imo i just find android to be much more creative and doesn't go along with the norm
MuSiCMaNiA2104 Yea. I totally agree with you on the ''android is better because you can make your own android system look unique''. Gotta give you that ;)
+Danni Plays some people want those shortcuts on their home screen, including myself. The functionality of this new UI is great and im sure samsung will make the app itself optional/customizable and theres tons of lockscreens you can get in the playstore if you dont like it or get a new phone if its that serious lol
My galaxy s6 edge used to lagg at times and was rather slow. After installing the good lock app my phone became a beast. Now it's much faster and it hasn't lagged once since I installed it! Props to samsung for this UI, I'm a huge fan of it.
AnTiCs53 wait but can you answer my question? This seems like a very useful UI update that brings a lot of functionality. Did you just not want that extra functionality or felt it was too much? What made you uninstall it?
+I love both types of Football It is very useful and functional, +AnTiCs53 just can't give any good reasons so he's not chiming in. Also, the battery drain has been exactly the same, no effect whatsoever after installing. Been running it for 3 weeks and it's been great, just turn off "Keep" notifications unless you're into that thing.
+Mark Levy I was at work and couldn't leave a reply. Assumption is cozy, isn't it? My reason for uninstalling it was because I felt like it cluttered my screen. I could easily gain access to all those functions if I simply unlocked my screen. This was not useful to me (as stated earlier in my previous comment). If it is useful to you, then good for you. Not everything caters to everyone's specific needs. Remember that next time you decide to dictate someone's opinion. Have a good day, Mark.
I switch this year on April to Android and never regret it. I got the galaxy s7 edge and had an iPhone 6 plus before. Loving the Samsung UI and everything else. There might be people telling you no but you just have to try it to decide.
i love good lock. i finally was able to sideload marshmallow on my at&t note 5 and this was the main thing i was looking forward to. the stock status bar icons alone are reason enough for me to use it as i never understood why android skins felt the need to change them to an ugly alternative. the notification shade looks lovely and i love how minimal you can end up making the lockscreen by removing the app shortcuts all together. aside from aesthetics, the folders you can make for certain notifications are super useful, the keep section is a nice concept but needs some work. overall i definitely recommend giving it a try, it gave my phone such a reboot and i sometimes forget i'm running touchwiz at all.
I like where it's going. It's sort of a love child of touchwiz funtions with pure android looks. It could use a little work, but not too bad. Looks nice and snappy too!
Wow, I really like that. And the notification shade looks much closer to stock. I'm still rocking a Note 4 with a custom ROM and I'd pretty much sworn off Samsung in looking for the right upgrade, but this kind of thing would put the Note 6 on my radar.
A tip for everyone in USA/Canada. Good Lock is probably the easiest and the only way to bring back access to your mobile data toggle, which is purposely hidden by most of our carriers. Install Good Lock and find the toggle in the app's settings. Took me almost a week upon getting my new phone to figure that out.
Side loaded Good Lock on my Galaxy Note 4 . Except for a couple of the features that dont work it really is a nice upgrade to the notifications and lock screen. I like it .
I don't know... I like the current Marshmallow interface because it's way simpler than previous versions. I hope this won't be the stock samsung interface for Android N.
I don't like the recent apps displayed as a list.. does anyone know how to go about setting it back to the review card view.. without uninstalling Good Lock.
I'm not a fan of Samsung but i totally support this. I hope other OEMs look up to Samsung and also bring something similar to this. More options that can be uninstalled can never do any harm.
Where do I find out if this is available for the S6? I know you said it is available for the S7 but I didn't hear you specify exclusivity. Just curious. Thanks for the videos! Been a fan for years of AA!
i actually like the samsungs toutchwiz. idk why ppl hate it, for me its better than stock android
+Weeky It is like chrome, RAM eating monster.
+Sou Illuminat still Samsung devices last longer android stock..
indeed it is
+Deepak Multani i totally disagree with you, try using a nexus device. you'll know which device well last longer
TouchWiz is what I hate about Samsung. it's way too laggy & slows the phone down. it's useless. hate it.
too much of lock screen it misses the point of lock screen
true
so true
it replaces the traditional lock screen which is not good
+Minjaniq oh please explain to me how it fucking misses the point of having a lock screen? and just FYI this is called added functionality. just because its new/unfamiliar doesn't mean you have to start hating it. bet you hate Apple as if it had killed your mother as well
+Ushira Dharmaratne why would I hate tech companies 😒
+Ushira Dharmaratne Well the name said it "Lockscreen". I my self turn all the notification of that apps use and stop them from running in the background. Let me tell you one thing. I like touch wiz better than stock android
+MattPokeFan Nope
+Mahesh Jagtap in optimization no but in features yes
+RadioactivePenguin776 well..wait for android N then!
me too
+Mahesh Jagtap Some features of N is in TW way before. In updates, the nexus is a go. But in features, touchwiz is ahead.
touchwiz is a BEAST now ?? the interface doesnt have unnecessary gimicks anymore. i luv it.
b4 the release of s6 it was shit and more laggy than my windows 95.
it's still lagy shitfest with that flipboard
agreed
I totally agree
+HighCro Gaming turn off flipboard
+HighCro Gaming love having flip board like that but yes it mucks shit up
Did Good Lock also change the look of the wifi, battery and cell signal icons?
yes
yup.
It also seems to have an inbuilt washing machine and a toaster.
Rohan Pawar new instagram already provides washing machine
Kappa
It looks promising. Its a good start. I may get a samsung note 6 depending on how this goes.
+gasolara2002 Or just try a other launcher
I would but with different launchers you loose certain Samsung functionality that the original launcher has. +gasolara2002 I never ran out of ram at full usage. I ran about 80% at full capacity. I never had an app crash on me either.
+D13H4RD2L1V3 It has a monochrome option (far left in color section). Maybe that can work for you?
In the update, you can change the base now
i like this guy.. best presenter of android authority IMO
best is joshua vergara
Alright Samsung, Now We're Talking. You're Back in Game.
I've been using it for two weeks now on my S6 Edge and its flawless.
been waiting for such a thing for a while now. always preferd stock android feel and this one delivers.
disabled all shortcuts and unwanted things, chaned color theme and all set and done. lockscreen feels just like nexus and notification panel as well.
highly recomended.
call me crazy but i loveeee touchwiz the way it is...
Samsung, I think you've finally convinced me to return from my custom ROM back to Touchwiz - I never thought this day would come. Not only that, but you actually listen to the users and have added and modified Good Lock to cater to feedback, absolutely fantastic.
yes an australian!!
+Nathaniel Erlandsen But he lives in Germany (I think) because he has the app Öffi on his phone (public transportation app for Germany), and the WiFi network he is connected to is KDG-... which is the standard WiFi name for routers of Vodafone Kabel Deutschland
+szoszk A+ GG
He's Australian? Never would have figured that out.... and he lives in Germany too?Well sheeeit....
Khanin the Uhnahkian
From AA-Website "Kris Carlon is a Senior Editor at Android Authority. He is a half-British Australian who lives in Berlin[...]"
szoszk I never look at their backgrounds. I was, for some weord reason, unaware of which accent he had.
2:42 how do you change it back to the "marshmallow rolodex" ???????????? its not in the settings
It is Not available in the German Samsung Galaxy Store
Do you have marshmallow?
+Nikola Kocev Yes, i have the s7
+Monster9585 You can download it from the web.
+Funkentelechy From which site?:-)
+Monster9585 apkmirror.com
10/10 best looking Android phone ever made. Especially the golden Edge model. I just wish Human fingers were naturally oleophobic so we wouldn't have to deal with fingerprints
But... Do you need it? I mean why turn something so simple into something much more complicated?
It's not necessarily more complicated, just more powerful in terms of capabilities that the device can do, especially in organization and launching of apps.

Good lock seems like a great app, awesome option for those who want it. I personally like touch wiz and the Samsung theme store
this will work on galaxy S5 / S6/edge/plus / S7 / NOTE 4 / NOTE 5
as long you are on samsung stock marshmallow
Thanks for letting me know that
how to get it for note4 ?
does not work for S5 stop talking shit
Christopher McCullough do you have marshmallow?
+Jay Bugatti i do, its not in the app store and the apk crashes the phone
My galaxy s6 edge used to lagg at times and was rather slow. After installing the good lock app my phone became a beast. Now it's much faster and it hasn't lagged once since I installed it! Props to samsung for this UI, I'm a huge fan of it.
I uninstalled this SO fast.
Why?
drain more battery?
AnTiCs53 wait but can you answer my question? This seems like a very useful UI update that brings a lot of functionality. Did you just not want that extra functionality or felt it was too much? What made you uninstall it?

I installed it simply to enhance its looks as a stock Android, and it sure works! Really loving the pull-down notification menu.
Almost all of this is useless
its just like a damn launcher. all gimmicky. nothing new.
Because, Reasons.
it actually made my S7 run a little quicker, since it got rid of many useless features from TouchWiz
+Minhaaj Hussain It's so all the damn Android purists stop hating.
On Note 4 because samsung are spazzes and don't give us the new touchwiz on the s6, note 5 (etc.) regardless, good lock makes it much better
is there a way to remove that quick toggle theme thing? i like the stock
I switch this year on April to Android and never regret it. I got the galaxy s7 edge and had an iPhone 6 plus before. Loving the Samsung UI and everything else. There might be people telling you no but you just have to try it to decide.

I've been using Good Lock for about a month now and I'm liking it so far.
On which android your phone is running?
Downloaded it from APK Mirror and sideloaded it on my Note 4 and so far it's working great.
Clean the camera lens! I can see it visibly! My focus got off track because of it! 😣
I like where it's going. It's sort of a love child of touchwiz funtions with pure android looks. It could use a little work, but not too bad. Looks nice and snappy too!
Being able to keep, group, or snooze notifications sounds amazing, that's something I now want in stock :')
I'll wait until you can make the notification shade like stock
I love the wallpaper around 1:00. Any chance to find it somewhere?
Great review of Good Lock. Waiting for its official relea, thanks! :)
Wow, I really like that. And the notification shade looks much closer to stock. I'm still rocking a Note 4 with a custom ROM and I'd pretty much sworn off Samsung in looking for the right upgrade, but this kind of thing would put the Note 6 on my radar.

I don't know... I like the current Marshmallow interface because it's way simpler than previous versions. I hope this won't be the stock samsung interface for Android N.
will this take up more ram than touch wiz?
What keyboard is he using at 4:10?
New version more awesome than before. More on/off toggles and the colors can be change better than before. V 24.0.9
is this just a launcher or it removes touchwiz and installs this
Perfect presentation! To the point, informative and without distractions :) Waiting for the next one from you :-D
Wow, this is getting better and better. Hopefully a preview of what is to become the new touchwiz :D

I got question does the Future come within the phone or you just have to download another app in order to use it?
can I install it on Android 5.0.1 ?
how about battery life after applied this ?
what keyboard is that looks amazing
this app for s7 only ?
what keyboard was that?
A question how did you get your keyboard to change colors?
Is it flat style keyboard?
is it only on samsung devices?
Can you still turn the phone power off while locked?
I don't like the recent apps displayed as a list.. does anyone know how to go about setting it back to the review card view.. without uninstalling Good Lock.
Oh my, I really need an s7 edge and this now... Beautiful.
I prefer the most recent touchwiz UI. Nice blue drop down menu, neat icons, colors easy on the eye...
I'm not a fan of Samsung but i totally support this. I hope other OEMs look up to Samsung and also bring something similar to this. More options that can be uninstalled can never do any harm.

3aMoRa CIT www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/good-lock/good-lock-24-0-16-release/good-lock-24-0-16-android-apk-download/download/
