I’m going to check this one out. I love the NE horror/autumn vibes. You both are right- one can almost feel the crisp air and stark roughness of the ocean when it comes to that region. Moving from NY to Georgia I miss it terribly. Lol
There are also movies that seem pretty straightforward but they're actually a story within a story which is built by symbols and other stuff that's not obvious. For example Jeepers Creepers (first one) and the Empty Man.
I admire slow burns but it’s the story that really makes a difference for me. I can’t say this was bad. Objectively, it was good. Same for Oddity. Just not my cup of tea after seeing them. Long Legs was definitely a bit more stand out-ish.

This film was super atmospheric and creepy. But that one character (let's call him bartender in the comments) was so cartoonish, so unrealistic, so dramatic and so over the top, that every single time he was on the screen and spoke, I was honestly taken out of the film... The way the director made him talk and behave was super unnecessary and extra. One can argue it served some purpose but it doesn't change the fact that he almost made me stop watching entirely.
A lot of the times I’m bored with these kind of movies, lol. When you said you can tell what the vibe is about a movie after a certain amount of time analyzing, I’m right there with you. This in particular, it’s not that it’s more so bad, just boring to me and I watched it a few times to see if I missed anything. I was surprised how easy of a watch it was. Just not my cup of tea. And nothing that really had me go, “oh my my my.”
