I've learned more in the past couple days off your channel than in the years before it. Really has opened my eyes.
I've been baffled as to how the buggers are getting in. I thought can't be the drain system as surely they'd come out of the toilet in to the house (how naive). My first thought was air bricks but read they need a 2cm square hole and air bricks are 1cm square. Beyond this I was thinking they must've just spiderman'd up the wall & in to the loft area which is where I've caught them but usually hear them in the wall/floor area of downstairs.
After watching your videos I should pay more attention to the drainage I think. Has also helped to highlight what to look out for as some of the stuff you point out I wouldn't have had a clue.

I've had a pest control come to my house last week.
Hie came on Tuesday a week from today and looked around the exterior of my house then stood on my ladder with only half his body in the attic entrance and shone his light around my attic.
He came down from the attic and said he was doing pest control with a long time and in his "professional opinion" there wasn't rats in my walls and attic because he didn't see evidence of rats and didn't smell them.
So that night I caught a shrew in the attic and my panic went away.
Until the next morning when there was a young rat in a trap in my attic. The fest and panic set in again do I contacted him again and told him I caught a young rat. I sent him pictures of the young rat and he said he will come to have another look in a few days. Again the next day there was another young rat in a trap in my attic and they were in my walls.
He came back a few days later and he had another look in my attic. He went up into the attic but just at the attic entrance.
This time he said he could smell them but didn't see how they were coming in from outside my house.
So we went tou neighbours house that's attached to my house. He looked around her garden , exterior walls and attic.
He said he saw trails in her garden where the rats are going and he saw a hole in my neighbours exterior wall that the rats are going up into the attics and he saw much more evidence in her attic of rats than my attic.
He gave me a few traps to put in her attic and Her attic and went away.
He came back today Tuesday a few days later and filled the hole with expanding foam (he claims it's rodents proof expanding foam with bits of aluminium in it) and set a bait station and went away.
I'm confident this will not solve the problem and I've contacted a different company because this guy just done the bare minimum without trying to properly find the problem.

Yes, my advice was going to be, GET ANOTHER PEST CONTROLLER!
But you wisely have already decided to do that ☺️
      Expanding foam 🙈🤣🤷‍♂️

@@PestInterceptors Yes when I asked if he even put steel wool inside the expanding foam he said that he didn't and said that the expanding foam is rodent resistant with metal shards or something in it. I'm pretty sure no such expanding foam exists so we will be back to square one real fast.
Not only that but he blocked the hole without making sure any rodents were gone out of the house first and I can hear them in my attic since he left.
He didn't even put down that powder you use to find the rodent trail and he was guessing where the rats are coming from. They could be coming from someplace else.
The other pest control I've contacted was supposed to come yesterday but they didn't so I'm going to have to contact them again.

They are just small manholes. Exactly the same job as normal sized manholes, an access point to the system and a way of adding new pipes on to the system.

Do you have any video of the smear marks or whatever, the route into the cavity wall?
The white pipes you exposed under floor with concrete(?) was that where you found chewed through adaptor?
The inside of house here is as well sealed as the outside. The rats must be getting into attic by climbing walls or through gaps in party wall where it slopes for roof.
I can't re-tile whole roof with steel mesh. A surveyor is going to report to buyer that there's a vampire issue or something!
Pantiles seem like an open door, just a question of a curious cold passing rat decides to chew through the felt.
With a solid slab floor having just the one internal soil pipe stack embedded from construction.

He is probably correct but without the correct equipment and cameras he is just guessing.
There is no room for guesswork when it comes to recurring rat problems.
      Good luck 🤞🏼
