Jake rats are such intelligent and aware creatures. I really do feel bad for them, but....... absolutely frik’n take them out. They do so much damage and I’ve had my RV devastated and wiring inside some of my customer’s homes gnawed away.

@@john-paulsilke893 totally. beyond intelligent, they are little demons. Almost unstoppable. With deep regret I have to use poison.
Bummer, poison is both brutal and super unsafe but I assume you have done your best to avoid it. I’m seriously looking into one of those A34 automatic captured bolt rat and squirrel traps. Those things are super pricey but I have enough disposable income that I should try that before poison, plus I have loads of wildlife around my house so it would be a bit irresponsible to use it, (although there are so many feeding stations along the main streets with all their businesses that more probably wouldn’t work anyway.
Mr.@@john-paulsilke893 YOur assumption is correct. I have seen the A34 too but I certainly dont have the disposable income.
Edit; the RSPCA poison boxes limit the exposure to wild life in general. They are pretty good and I wouldnt dream of using poison without.

When I search Shawn Woods and rat or rats I get only two videos. All this time I thought he only caught mice and I needed to learn how to catch rats. I even asked him to do more rats. Now these older videos are turning up following his other videos.

I was hopeful when I read "Catching Rats with 100," hoping it referred to the number of traps and not the age, but I'm still hopeful that you will make a video of catching them with many traps.
I would name the naked mouse Quitela and the fuzzy rat, well, Fuzzy. The stuffed rat, I would name it Tester.

I absolutely love hairless rats! I used to have one of my own, they are the sweetest animals! Mine would always give kisses, her name was Lavender. Glad to see you saved a hairless rat of your own

I'm so jealous of your new hairless baby, she's adorable. The other's colour is called Agouti and resembles wild mice/rats. (was a previous rat owner, they're wonderful pets)

Love the addition of the wildlife cams at the end of the video.
I'm very happy to see the portions where you use trail cameras; seeing all the different species eating the rodents because it shows that you're in a clean area. Also have you ever seen any deer eat your dead mice? My aunt started doing what you do (leave them for scavengers or predators to eat) and she was surprised to see some red deer chewing on the dead mice

I love watching the old traps. They could be so convulated but they still work. You live in such a beautiful area. I didn't think a heron could have swallowed a rather, it would have been fascinating. I do not know how you can have pet mice and rats but each to the own.

@@silentbigsteve3429 Iirc the original mice population in his barn almost dwindled to extinction now he's running on imported mice. He has to be careful in handling their population otherwise more expenses for him to import again
Yeah I realize now will probably wouldn’t be a great idea it would take a long time and all depends on how many traps he has and if he has lotta traps and he probably will need help setting up all of them

I'd expect that the bait for the tombstone trap should be something that could be slipped over the bait hook, like raw bacon, so that the rat would pull up on it. Love watching and learning!!

We get a large number of egrets in my area, it's great watching them hunting in the fields.
My brother vacationed in Ecuador last summer and brought me a tomb stone trap as a souvenir from a street vendor . the spring is a beast and it is hand made from some dense rain forest wood red in color .

I thought putting an ad on the back of your mouse trap was a bit odd until I realized these things turn over when they activate a lot of times. Clever.
