Thank you for all of your help,! I sincerely appreciate your help in getting this out to "Every One"! I hope people will realize how important it is to actually look in their backyards and FORWARD THIS TO ALL OF YOUR CONTACTS! AND ASK THEM TO FORWARD IT TO ALL THEIR CONTACTS and Etc .... Thank you again, Mom
Hey what color is the car, my doctor has a car very similar. A client of his gave it to him for payment for visits. He said it hasn’t been registered in 18 years or more, and was a time capsule. I will ask him to see. I can’t remember what color it was I believe it was charcoal in color, I will send him pictures of vin now.
Important information to know that once the Boise Police Department is complete with the investigation, the owner of the vehicle will regain ownership of it.
Contact the local racetracks and have them share the vin, make and model. They will push the story and locate this car. It may have been turned into a strict race car, therefore it's highly probable it will never be registered again unless it's restored to a street car.
The VIN breaks down as 1G1 for US made Chevrolet (1 for US made, G for General Motors, 1 for Chevrolet), FP21 for Camaro Sport Coupe, E for 5.0L (305 CID) V8 with throttle body injection (TBI), 3 is a check digit, K for the 1989 model year, L for Van Nuys, CA assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Van Nuys plant closed in 1992 so production records are likely gone. Yes, the major vehicle components will have the VIN #. By 1989 GM used stickers on the major parts to prevent theft and stolen parts being used on other vehicles. Exterior paint is code 87 Medium Gray based on the photos. Based on the fact that this has the TBI engine (by the 8th digit of the VIN), it's not an IROC or a Z-28 and it would be an RS. Off the top of my head, a 1989 Z-28/IROC would have had 5.0L (305 CID) V8 with TPI (8th VIN digit of "F") or a 5.7L (350 CID) V8 with TPI (VIN code "8"). The only other engine used in Camaros in 1989 would have been the 2.8L V6 with MFI (VIN code "S" for the 8th digit). We know this was a 305 V8 with TBI by the VIN.
I'm local to Reno area -- is it possible that it might have been stripped for parts (if not in someones backyard as already brought forward), but was dumped on one of the off road/trails? I always see stray abandon vehicles ranging in different conditions (partly burned, busted, skeletal, etc). This isn't in reference to trails frequented by dirtbikers, quads, and the like -- rather the sand pits and hardly traversed dirt roads. Hope this gets found!
Please don't worry about those details... The Detectives wouldn't go to this extent if it were not important! Thank you and please forward to all your contacts and ask them to forward to their contacts and etc. thank you very much for your help!
There have been countless cases solved with old evidence. Let's get this video shared and find the car so the detectives can exhaust that part of their case. Thanks for watching.
@21kivey I wish them all the best in finding it and pray the family gets closure, I was just saying after so much time and so many owners it's gonna be a needle in a haystack

Absolutely! We'll do everything we can to help you and your family.
Hopefully some information will appear because of making this case more visible.
When a hunt shows registration on a car going cold, that's the worst feeling. I hope this car is found and the case is solved......
How cool would it be for our group (your group Wes) to be the one that blows the case wide open! I hope its found!
Thank you so much for posting this! Lisa from Boise, Idaho ❤

Based on the photos, it appears that it was code 87 Medium Gray exterior paint.
I hope this car can be located and that it helps the family get some answers.

My heart goes out to the family. If anyone could find it, it will be the fans of lost muscle cars.

the vin has been silent since 2000 on carfax

Good analysis.
@@weseisenschenkslostmusclec9123 Sure thing.

Possibly. Though whoever owns/owned it wouldn't know it was involved in a case.
@weseisenschenkslostmusclec9123
it's been silent on carfax since 2000
A lot of these cars may have been parted out however, if the sheet metal was still good, it could be on hold for someone's restoration plans.
there's been no carfax activity for it since 2000
I believe those are Prime 227 wheels. A knockoff of the Centerline.
Wooooooooohhhhh
Even if they find the car I can't see there being any usable evidence at this point

Law enforcement obviously believe the car holds evidentiary value or they wouldn't be looking.

If this car was given away for parts all the "evidence" would be thrown away or reused for another camaro
and it's been silent on carfax since 2000
It is in a body of water
Is it really
