I also had a Machine that was the army green colour back in the mid 70's. I paid $2000 for it at a GM dealership on Victoria Park Ave. in Toronto. The trans was acting up and I had no money to fix it and sold it to a young guy a year or two later. IOf all the cars I've owned ot wasn't until much later I realized how rare that car was. I really miss my first muscle car.
If he hasn't already then he should reply to my post in the General chat section on "The AMC Forum" as its still fairly active with a lot of old, longtime AMC folks. A Blue Rebel Machine is incredibly rare, I've never seen one (in print/online/car shows etc) and I've been into AMC's since the 80's. Over the years I have found several RWB Machines and a couple of green ones, but never blue. So the possibility of finding it is pretty good, someone would remember that car.
@@weseisenschenkslostmusclec9123 We know the exact neighborhood, now, too, as his dad remembered a few more details. For the Metro Detroiters, it's right off of Van Born, between Telegraph and Pardee. Brick house with an attached two car garage. Unfortunately, there's quite a few houses like that in that neighborhood. We even stopped and talked with a man who's lived there since the 1960s but he didn't remember the car.
I understand the drive to find his dad’s Machine wherever it might be… love AMC’s and sure hope someone out there can help him find it
We do to.
As always well done Wes. Hope this guy finds his pop's ride. Great story!!

We were told (I'm a good friend of Jake's) that there are 3 Bayshore Blue cars in the registry and none of them are his dad's
Knowing the town it sold into is a great lead.

They were cool
The moral of this story is NEVER sell a car because of a woman. There's billions of women in this world but in this case very few Rebel Machines.
Without a doubt! Lol
