I love it when the first video I click on gives me all the information I was looking for, and I don't have to waste time with unclear answers. Awesome explanation. Thanks, dude!
Excellent tips...started a cup with my son's school, how did I become the mechanic ;) . I like how you can tweak these cars, it brings extra edge to the competition!
Great tips! Thank you so much in explaining the difference between the shock oil weights. I drive a Slash2WD at my local track. Will start to experiment with different weights to help with driving performance.
Question, need advice: I own an Arrma Big Rock and just bit the bullet and got the proline shocks. I live in Florida where it is always hot so I am going to have to test different oil weights to see which is the best for me. My question is, what weights should I buy to test with? I already have 60 & 35 weight. Which other weights should I get? Thanks in advance.
So I got a pretty big dirt track. 8 foot wide lanes. 40 second lap time. I'm using the losi db pro. We got a quad and 3 other jumps, with whoops. Not super huge but pretty big. What should I use. 50? Since I'm jumping??
Still I’m sorry for what I sed I where drunk at the time at my friends party keep up the good work I sorry I gust wanna make up so I will subscribe and like all your videos
Great video. Since I'm new to this hobby I was hoping you'd answer a question. I bought an Arrma Vorteks rc car for my young son for Christmas and one of the stock shock shafts broke on his second battery pack. At that point I had to learn all about shocks, how they're supposed to work and how to rebuild them. Anyway, I'd now like to upgrade his shocks to somethong better than the pastic stock ones but I'm having a hard time finding the same stock size in an aftermarket shock. The shocks he has now are 87mm front and 109mm back. Can I purchase slightly longer or shorter shocks that will still fit his truck. I realize this video is a year old but I'd appreciate any help you could offer.
I just put Traxxas rebuild kits in all my shocks and filled them with 40 wt, front, and rear. I previously swapped in a LCG chassis and doing the shock overhaul after that made a noticeable difference as well. It is more stable and rolls less with the thicker oil.
Good information. My slash 2wd has the big bore shock kit and I also have an ultimate 4x4 slash. I have the springs really compressed to stop them both from bottoming out that my shocks aren’t doing anything. What do you suggest?
Compressing the springs by turning the springscrew down, doesn‘t stop bottoming out because it does not effect the spring rate. It just gives you a different ride hight. So if you are always bottoming out, you need a higher spring rate!
as you Read this I bought high end shock can't remember the thickness and 70 wt plus 50 wt I had a problem with traxass on the batteries I did as they instructed.. I sent pictures and all 4 batteries I bought that went dead they sent me all ne equipment I was happy then it happen again the sent me a work orf=der to replace the batteries ...they any a good but being an engineer and race regular cars taking my x-maxx apart to see the problem im upset this guy was good he justified what want im talking to the supervisor of Traxxas tomorrow wish me well
I have a x-maxx I jump and bas it the shell kept on braking it bottom out I race real cars so I was concerned.. my club inchicago were saying the same thing I took off the show..guess what low oil and no bladders only on bladder im calling Traxxas to tell them the sold me a not hightg end rc

90mm for the front. 110mm for the rear. Hundreds of options for those lengths. You should be just fine.
What oil shock if want to use to 1/8 buggy?..can you suggest for me?..i want to play in track
Bro can u add 60wt ? I bought some 60 they told me ima gonna need to drill pistons
No , just use it .
I run 50 on rear and 40 on fronts
Running 30 right now in 2wd Slash. If I went to a heavier weight will it cause it to roll quicker on a full speed turn?

@shealaking8557 Thank you for the response. I have three of them so I will order the lcg for each and oil. Very much appreciated!

50-80 weight. I'm having the same issues with my Losi Baja Rey raptor 3S basher.

I pay 7.99 for shock oil 60wt team losi racing blue
And if your looking to jump the car to another state. I recommend getting a Kraton 8s and send it lol
