I'm playing on a JP server and is able to talk with them but not on a Savage strategy-making level. I'm grateful for these vids simply because of how you flesh out every mechanic. All I have to do now is to decipher the kanjis in their strat. macros (and usually some Japanese versions of the attacks are named differently/not translated literally so it takes a little more time to understand) and it's gonna smooth sail after that. Again, thanks for this MTQ!
So... I have been trying this in practice runs for 3 days already. It's really fun! It's way simplier than it actually looks and well, I believe I can clear it, now it's just on the execution itself. Will come back whenever I pass it to report! Awesome guide.
A bit of an mistake at the soft engage phase. On Earthquake, Chaos will actually cast Accretion on all 8 players rather than only on the tanks and heals, so you can just top off after cyclone goes off and all survive till the final 'bowels of agony' enrage cast. Although, these days with Orbonne coin exchanges and 390 rakshasha gear, most people shouldn't even see that phase if they can get through crystal cleanly.
One additional note about the Cyclone phase, if you try to cheese the Headwind/Tailwind mechanic with a knockback resist skill you will be punished by an attack that deals high damage (it did like 48k+ on me as a Dragoon i think). It always killed me the 3 times i tried using Arm's Length until we realized cheesing the mechanic like that was the cause. It seems to be the same attack that happens at the very end that knocks you upwards and applies the Damage Down debuff, but possibly hitting harder there as punishment. Or it might just have been a lack of shielding in the Cyclone phase that always killed me. Either way you'd want to avoid the Damage Down so: do the mechanic as intended. :P
"We give you these nifty knockback immunity skills. We punish you for using these nifty knockback immunity skills. Please look forward to it." YoshiP to dps who want uptime, probably
Another option for the second earthquake (the one with the stacks) is for the DPS to stand in two of the stacks and avoid Big Bang. Then they can move north with the tanks and healers to get healed sooner and not lose uptime to getting knocked into the air.
When I saw this video I was like "WTF is this, I guess savage content isn't for me." But then i tried it yesterday and its actually not so bad. Havent cleared it yet, but seems possible with a few more tries and a good group. Not that much harder than susaku and tsukoyomi ex, which i've got down cold. Honestly just jumping in and running and dying a bunch will learn you the fight as long as you've watched one of these vids and have a basic understanding of the key mechanics. Also, I love Mizzteq's guides. So much better than the long winded Mr. Happy. Prefer the fast pace; if you miss something thats what pause and rewind is for. (altough i gotta say Mizzteq's suggested way of handling Tsukoyomi meteors makes no sense and has smaller margin for error since only one person is putting meteor in the disappearing color and the positioning is awkward. Ive found absolutely no one does it that way)
So, I love your videos and finally cleared this tonight with a pug as a healer, thanks to you. One thing that annoys me going into pugs with this fight is the healers figuring out who's N/S/NE/SE for the knockbacks. I think it'd be easier if there were a standard "West Healer" and "South Healer." "West healer" is west for blaze, crystal, and far west for EQ. North for the knockback during Tsunami and Cyclone ( which could be NW/NE depending on where the tanks pull Chaos). "South Healer" would always be south for blaze, crystal, all knockbacks (including SE/SW for Cyclone), and then far E for EQ. I'd love to just go into a fight and be like "are you W or S healer?” Just a suggestion as a video update. Would be nice to make West/South healer a standard thing. I've tried, through pugs, but don't have the audience you do :) I go into groups and people want s for crystal, w for blaze, e for EQ, S for tsunami, then NE/NW for cyclone... It's frustrating! I also think one of my friends knows you, or talks to you occasionally (at least this is what I was told, maybe he’s just bs’ing) lol.
If your HP drops, for any reason (Warrior switching to dps stance or losing their HP Buff from Thrill, or Buffood running out which i saw happening) it can kill you since it does damage based on your max hp.
TBH I like Mizzteq guides cause it breaks it down for each one along with showing diagrams for mechanics for ease of access. Even tho I cleared O9S before this came out going to be taking some of these ideas and using them to maximize overall raid DPS, uptime, and Movement
Do the healers actually need to heal after the dps "die" to the stack mechanics for second earthquake? aside from the MT ofc. Looks like he's going to drop everyone to 1 hp anyways

Her earlier videos on previous tiers are well done. Her train video was the one i watched for my clear on that along with the static. It provided each scenarior and how it plays out. This one feels like she raided here posted mechanics over it, explained what it did and then published it
Found that out today, these raids are harder than I thought, lol, I also noticed that if you successfully don't stack during the blaze phase you take no damage, that or I was with some really fast healers
The strategy that Mizz gives is essentially 'DPS in'. It's where you have the DPS on the inside, and tanks/heals get knocked outwards. This requires the tanks and healers to face out for a while tho, and makes it so they can't attack the orb for a while. To combat this, some PF's will use 'DPS Out,' where you position your DPS at Max melee range, and your tanks and healers inside of them. This will knock them through the crystal and to the other side. It's arguably the more difficult strategy, as the positioning is much tighter, as well as the additional adjustment you MUST make after getting knocked through the middle in order to not hit unintentional DPS's. But the upside is that the tanks and healers get more time to attack the crystal. There is one additional strat called 'Line Strat', but don't expect people to be proficient in the PF. It's mostly used by static's to increase uptime. In that strat, you completely ignore DF, and use combust to 'kill' each dps. It allows for the most uptime, but it's not the most intuitive strat unless you had a chance to learn it.
@@smegid586 if there are groups learning/teaching line strat, I would actually recommend joining them just to learn it. It ends up being easier/more consistent in the long run.
