    Ask The Champ: Janis Amolins wrist Side Pressure training for Arm Wrestling
    Here we get some inside look from champions in armwrestling showing different exercises, how they are doing them in real training, weight, reps etc. and answering FAQ questions.
    In middle of training we get some advice from 4x World Armwrestling Champion JANIS AMOLINS. We have fun in training but we also do heavy weights to get stronger. Janis is doing one very heavy side press training session and answering questions what we got asked almost all time and destroying some myths. Watch till the end if you don`t have armwrestling table but still want to train your side press.

    Here the clean weight is 50kg. In this type of machine, the weight is divided by 2. Ratio 2 to 1.

      According to physics there’s a clean weight is 100kg bc there’s only one lever on the top. If there were two levers than it’d be 50kgs

      ​@@MisterTwister_69 You can see the cable is not fix to the weightstack. There is a puley on the weight stack. According to physic you are wrong.. this is not a 1:1 ratio but 2:1

    I like how Janis is a perfect combination of Larratt (hand control and technique) and Hutchings (strength). Technique and hand control is very important but you still have to be strong enough to win once you're in your good position.

    Thanks. Working on these exercises to improve my strength. Totally unaware before at how strong you can get from armwrestling. Now I just started the training after I searched on how to get stronger forearms.

    I use bands mostly because i train at home & cant fit all that equipment. But some strategically placed hooks in the wall are working just fine for me

    Because of the pulleys you should measure the real resistance of the weights with a pull force gauge

    Please explain the non gripping table hand. How do we create the most pull with the entire body?

    2:1 ratio weight, so it’d be around 50 kg this is already impressive. Imagine Todd Hutchings with his pr side pressure plus his way of doing side pressure is pure side pressure no back pressure involved. Nevertheless even just getting to Janis side strength is already super impressive.

    My elbow hurts a lot if i do this! I just started doing it! I am not talking about brachialis muscle but on the entire elbow it hurts! Can you guys help?

      Connective tissue is / was weak. Just lower weight and go for reps and slowly get used to higher loads over time.

    Good video. One question. Why are you pulling from the top pulley? Opponent's arm is same level as ours.

      It is more for top rollers position. Lower cable height is for hook.

      One arm pull-up is great exercise , but in workouts I do more pull ups with both arms and extra weights - Janis

      You have to factor in the pulley system. With a compound pulley-two or more pulleys combined together-you can reduce the force required to lift the load.

    I see you train almost everyday a week, isn't it bad for recovery?
    How to programe a training during a week to make solid work and maximum result for people that are not using PED.

      We train in gym for 4-5 days, not always this hard. But taking enough time to recover from one workout to another. 3 days a week is best split in my opinion.

    Janis what's your take on use of steroids in lower weight classes? (Testosterone, Nandrolone etc)...... Engin has been honest about his use.

      @@voiceofarmwrestling Sure, but how do you feel steroids help in limited weight classes compared to unlimited..... Eg. There's no way guys like Sasho, Vladisav, Rustam, Zoloev have never used steroids for strength gains and healing. They may not have abused steroids like bodybuilders, but for slight enhancement.

    Always remember that the actual weight is about 50 kilos because of the cables n pull compensation.

      Cristopher, if You watched whole video, then You notice that I talked how much it is in real kilos on every episode when I talked about weights. And Armwrestling is not about who will lift more but how to get stronger on table. But good weights boost your confidence 👍 - Janis
