About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

You know it's a super crazy social circle when the sanest person in the group is George.
Lol
And George is the one inclined to be generous by not taking the rye back. Weird!
Truth. Compare to his hillarious and crazy parents, Georgie seems normal lol.
George has so much hand, it's seeping out of his glove.
what does george say afterwards btw...? it's not clear
The Constanzas together is one of the best things that ever happened to television. Every bit it's a classic. I love how Jerry Stiller ties his belt after saying "we have to show these people some taste!"
susan was way too good for george . she had class and was out of his league .
You have no eye for fashion
@@fascinatinglist9654 I HAVE NO EYE FO FASHUN???
@@marleonetti7 But my god she was boring.
JUUMMM
It’s insanely intuitive writing the way Susan and George’s parents have nearly identical personalities and relationships but they handle their aggression completely differently. Susan’s parents are clearly passive aggressive. The costanzas have never been passive about anything in their entire lives.
Lol! Great comment. 🤣
very astute observation, i agree.
"Merlot? Never heard of it, did they just invent it?" Gets me every time 😂🤣
merlots been around since 1700s lol
lmao she trying to make convo in the worst way possible lmfaooo
@@smithsthoughts i live for merlot 🤣
Her delivery is amazing
I mean compared to the history of all humanity it is pretty recent. Is Estelle a 2000 year old vampire?
That delivery on "That's perverse" is legendary
Pervoise 😂
The Costanzas are the single most believable family in television. You often wonder how the children ended up the way they are, given their parents in most shows/movies. But with the Costanzas, the way George is makes perfect sense!
They are so REAL!
0:07 ...PANIC MODE!
Reminds me of MY parents🙄
The Ross' give them a run for their money😂
@@mayhemjr.803 mines too😭😭
One of the rarest times that Mr. and Mrs. Costanza agree on something
True! 🤣
And they were right. They should have served some cake
Estelle agrees with him and he still screams at her lol
@@beazy5234 George’s parents are crazy huh? 🤪 Poor George!! 😂
This time Frank was yelling at someone else, but it's not clear who.
The debate about who sleeps with the hen is still raging in scientific circles to this day
That's perverse!
Personally, I believe that the hen is celibate, what with being a game bird and all.
Something's missing, all right...
@@kyon813hahahaha
when frank says "somethings missing" and Susan's mother makes the most snarkies comment "somethings missing alright" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 i always laugh at this scene
And that gulp of wine just clinched it.
Like she can't believe those two and she needs her wine to tolerate them!
"Something's missing!" "Something's missing alright." That exchange had me rolling.
Jason Alexander, Jerry Stiller and Estelle Harris have got to be the funniest trio in sitcom history.
Fun fact: It you take the first letter from all of their names you get: JESAJH which is the pre-Israeli word for God, that later became JESAJA. Since they are all jews - this is a sign God exists (if you were in doubt).
Susan's parents were terrific. Totally undervalued characters, brilliantly played by Warren Frost and Grace Zabriskie.
Omg yes
And Big Love! She was amazing in that series.
Shoutout to ma from little house
They're both from Twin Peaks
Yes, I love the way Susan’s mother was drinking her wine like she was bored and miserable. L O L it was hilarious.
“I like to go in fresh” 😂
He dropped his fork 😂😂
lol I'm the same way
IT DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE PLOT!
@@pronkb000STILL! STILL!
The Ross’s passive-aggressive back and forth is hysterical.
passive-aggressive vs. active aggressive, lol.
Seemed like a deliberate contrast to the Costanzas.
@@johnhorne3052 ahhhh. Good observation
It makes you wonder what they are like at home by themselves. Do they behave the way they did at the dinner party, or would they shed their passive aggressiveness and go all-out yell mode a la the Costanzas? I guess we'll never know.
@@lonelyheroine I see you working, but face it, there’s no out-yelling the Costanza’s. You know it, I know it, the Ross’s damn sure know it. Passive-agressive is their brand.
We’re sitting there, LIKE IDIOTS, withoutapiece of cake 😄
“…Drinking coffee without a piece of cake” 😆😆😆
That was my favourite line!
i expect cake after dinner too
I like the way Estelle delivers that line “without a piece a cake! “ when they’re driving home in the car. 🤣
Like IDIOTS....(side look), without a piece of cake!
“We’re SITTING there like IDIOTS!”
And she's right...cake would have been the thing to serve. haha.
@@12classics39This is the most quoted line from Seinfeld in our household. Estelle and Frank Costanza are just hilarious.
Estelle has delivered some beauties. Remember the prophylactic wrapper George left on her bed! "I can't go back in there.......I CAN'T"
"It's not impolite, It's STUPID! That's what it is!" Something so simple yet delivered so well makes it so funny!
We're sitting there like idiots, drinking coffee, without a piece of cake.
Every line he has is delivered perfectly.
“Who would bring a bread and take it back?”
“Those people that’s who.”
Gosh I loved that delivery
I have to agree with Frank on this one. They never bothered to serve it. This is a marble rye from Schnitzers not a $2 tray of cupcakes from the supermarket. They don’t grow on trees like fur coats
The dead-ahead stare makes it.
"Let's not get into panic mode"🤣🤣🤨
The thing I've always found hilarious about this scene is how someone can't see their own character traits until they see someone else doing the same thing, George would have 100% taken the bread back if he brought it and they didn't serve it, but since his Father did it, he thinks its insane that he would do that. Best Show Ever.
Susan’s bitter and acerbic wreck of an alcoholic mother is hilarious and fascinating to watch at the same time! 😂
Brilliant
I mean she found out her husband had a romantic tryst with John Cheever.
@@jeremytung1632and the guy did not even apologize!
The Costanzas seem sane compared to them!
I thinks she's fantastic. I always liked her character.
@@jeremytung1632 And yet she stayed married to him. lol
It's nice to see families more dysfunctional than mine - from a safe distance.
buffer zone
George sounded so defeated when he said "Oh mother of God" at 2:50.
@@lucashenderson2775 And he's a Jew XD
This is one of the greatest scenes of all time. Jerry Stiller always steals ever scene he’s in.
He's funniest forgetting his lines. 😂
Estelle Harris and Jerry Stiller....what a great couple for casting...Seinfeld....marvelous
..never gets old!
Warren Frost and Grace Zabriskie....Neither known for comedy, but they KILL it here!
Jerry's parents couldn't stand George's parents, neither could Susan's parents. George's family name isn't Can't-Stand-Ya for nothing.
Lololololol!!
I'll take loud people over supercilious, passive-aggressive people any day :)
@@tg92277 I never warmed up to the Costanzas, but they were real. I kinda like Susan's parents for comedic value.
@@2EKgn16that’s opposite for me, because The Rosses are just plain rude and bougie, thinking they are better than everybody else and I warmed up to The Costanzas and they are more funny than The Rosses, More Funny I tell ya!

Anybody else think that George’s in-laws were spectacular in those roles? Held their own with George’s wacky parents.
I love how George’s father nearly pops a vein in his forehead about Susan’s parents not serving the marble rye: “It’s deliberate, Deliberate I tell yaa!!”
Whoever came up with the idea of casting Susan's parents out of Twin Peaks deserves a raise.
One of the absolute best Seinfeld scenes in the entire show.
George's face when Estelle asks him to zip her up. 😂😂😉
I can listen to the Costanza's argue and crack up every the time. They had perfect chemistry and the fights they get in are so true for an old married couple.
I love how Susan's mother delivers her lines.
“We’re sitting there like IDIOTS! Drinking coffee. Without a piece of cake.” 😭
What's even funnier than this, are the sequence of 'events' that happen when George attempts to secretly return the marble rye. My favorite being when Kramer feeds Rusty the horse Beef-A-Reeno, which causes the horse to have toxic gas.
Rusty! RUSTY!
Besides Jerry stole a marble rye from an old lady and ran away.
@@lucone2937 Best line when Jerry shouts, "Shut up, ya old bag!"
@@jrporter50 “we can’t breathe back here!”
@@BenjaminMankowski oh yes, one of favs tbh, lol!😂🤣😆
When you see George's parents together you know why George turned out the way he did. Any scene with the Costanza's was hilarious!
I actually think Estelle stole this scene with "were sitting there like idiots drinking coffee..."
I love how miserable George looks in the opening scene. He knows it's not gonna go well.
"NO, we have to go to Schnitzer's! I'll show these people something about taste!!!"
The rare instances when I feel sorry for George, always seem to involve his interactions with his parents!
We’re sitting there like IDIOTS, drinking coffee, without a piece of cake!
The most underrated part is how defensive Mr. Ross gets about Fire Storm lol.
The best part about this is how well George gets along with Susans parents. Despite his feelings about fear of the marriage, it goes to show you how normal George could've turned out.
He had no choice!! George had to hide his real psychotic personality to make the Ross's think that they didn't invite "The three stooges" for dinner 🤣🤣. What an episode this was! Brilliant writing and perfect timing from all the actors. Jerry Stiller "took the cake" in this episode.... well, it was bread; but you get what I am saying 😂😂
I love how Estelle finally agrees with him and it's on something crazy 🤣 I agree with the cake thing. If you're going to be giving coffee at night, you would think some type of dessert would also be served. Tres leches or somethin
Gotta Love The Costanza's Re-Claiming The Marble Rye! STICKING IT TO THE ROSS's
This is the best episode ever. Never gets old, EVER,!
It’s gold John! Gold!
Thing is you can say that about most episodes
STILL STILL I LIKE TO GO IN FRESH!!!! gets me everytime😂😂😂
"Oh something's missing alright"
This is special too me. My great aunt and my grandfather use to argue over everything. Just like the Costanza except they were brother and sister. Hilarious!
Argue over anything. Like Woody Allen's parents in 'Annie Hall' "You mean to tell the me the Pacific is a better ocean than the Atlantic?"
@@rainscratch Yeah it seemed that way they would always argue.
I always loved how Twin Peaks actors were her parents
Wish we would’ve seen more of Mrs. Ross in the series. She was hilarious and a very underrated character. The actress who portrayed her (Grace Zabeiskie) is very talented.
Yes indeed. If I am not mistaken she also played the Mom who lost her daughter in Twin Peaks.
"My in-laws, oh my god..." is so subtle and delightful. Poor Georgie.
Every time I watch one Seinfeld scene on RUclips and think that was the funniest of all time, along come another! Comic genius all around
Exactamundo. There's too many.
Interestingly, thin ties made a come back. Frank was always ahead of his time!
I remember thinking the same
Like pinstripes. Always going in and out and in and out of style.
lol
"There is the roster, hen and the chicken...there is something missing"
Mrs. Ross: "There is something missing alright"
LOL! Low key mic drop!
George’s delivery of “Oh mother of god…” stuck with me.
When Frank drops the silverware to make the little hunting gesture 😂
I love how Jerry Stiller moves his hands all cramped up with arthritis. Simply awesome.
The dynamic of the 2 family's. That's gold
Maybe I’m getting old or something but I actually agree with the Costanzas. Who serves coffee and don’t serve any cake or anything, and furthermore... if they didn’t put out the bread they brought, why leave it there when you’ve seen the kind of people Susan’s parents are. You know the bread is gonna end up in the garbage. So frank did the right thing lol
Leo, the stupidest thing i ever heard. you should be the chief of police in memphis.
These classic actors are amazing. The Seinfelds, the Constanzas, the Barones on everybody loves Raymond, etc. you can tell they’re just having fun and loving doing this into their twilight years!
This is so well written: 'I brought it in' 'they never put it out'
Seinfeld is a timeless show. Generations can have fun and everyday there's a new coztanza family born somewhere.
I love how Mr Ross immediately hates frank
If I was Frank, I would hate Rosses too, they think they’re better than everybody else, they are bougie, bougie, I tell ya!, here’s what i know, if you don’t serve us cake then I’ll take back the marble rye
"It's deliberate, I tell ya!!"
What would this show have been without Jerry Stiller?
You got the hen, chicken, and the rooster
Frank has a point
Reminds me of the time Frank was talking about bras.
I love George.
And his parents are even more likeable.
Seinfeld would not be the same without the Constanzas.
Probably the best scene in the whole series
I have always thought that "We're sitting there....like IDIOTS without a piece of cake" was one of the funniest things she ever said. Every time I see it, I am dying. 🤣
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
They were so distraught!
I just love Frank's anger issues!

Mr Constanza is actually right about the Cornish game hen - it's a misnomer, it actually is a chicken not a game bird. Guess he showed them that Frank Constanza knows something about TASTE.
And he's a cook too so he should know
@@bink He doesn't like to talk about that.
The most accurate depiction down to the minute details of human nature. Seinfeld is epic!!

'Seinfeld' could have had a dozen spinoffs and this could be the pilot for one.
George and Susan get married instead of offing her..... the clash of the in-laws alone would absolutely kill. this is hysterical.
2:44-2:53 "oh mother of god"

How does George get bread etiquette, but not understand you can't bring Pepsi to a dinner.
Pepsi is better than wine

This show was known for having very lazy and bad writers
More presents? What is this?
Another great episode showing the importance of having a good buffer zone. Georges face says it all. 😣

I agree Seinfeld is one sitcom I can watch again and again without getting tired of it, fortunately it's on Netflix here in Australia.
A little added bonus is that it's great to know that George has a gum guy when he goes to the unemployment office...!!!😆😆😆
George is a respectable third, of course, after Frank Constanza and Newman.
He likes to go in fresh ❤
Would it kill them to put out a piece of cake .... in my bread ....deliberate I tell u.
He was just perrrrrrrfect❤❤❤
That is absolutely amazing acting & doesn't seem dated.
When George is angry he is happy. 🤷♂️😂
I miss Jerry Stiller! He was comedic royalty and a scene stealer! Him and the Elaine character were everything!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
The greatest scene from the greatest episode of the show
He’s right it’s impolite they didn’t serve that bread 🥖 lol
🤣😂Actually the parents on both side have a lot in common, they both detest their spouses.

George's parents are exactly my parents, constantly arguing.
😂
The little touches. How George's wine glass is almost empty, while his parents' and Susan's and her father's are still mostly full.
Finally George’s parents are on the same page and agreeing on something😅 @3:21
When i watch again and again Seinfeld, cant belive Frank,Estelle, Jerrys mom they are no longer alive 💔
The dinner scene is one of the greatest scenes in Seinfeld.
The combination of the ross' cold WASPy rage/reserve and the costanzas over the top ethnic rage is hilarious. This was never going to go well.
"Somethings missing alright".
So funny.
I love how the tie isn’t even that thin of a tie
