Detailing The Peugeot 106 Rallye from grubby start to gleaming finish

- Welcome back to the Auto Finesse Detailing Academy, where this week we are diving into one of our big detailing treatments on one of the most iconic hot hatches of the 90s. It might be small but it packs a punch, it's the turn of the Peugeot 106 Rallye. This particular example, a Japanese import sporting French license plates and now being detailed just outside of London, it's safe to say it has had a checkered past, and that's more than apparent when we come to cleaning, correcting and protecting this legendary little car.
The vehicle undergoes our usual detailed deep clean wash, 3-stage decontamination and full paint correction. The wheels are sent for refurbishment, and we even get stuck on it with a full deep clean interior detail. This ones worth a watch.

I think this is not a 106 Rallye, but a 106 S16. The rallye version had specific stickers "Peugeot Sport" yellow, blue and red
Isn't the s16 the same as the rallye (phase 2 with the 1.6 engine), just called that on some markets (like japan)? I'm curious.
@@TiborSzarvas nope, same chassis but lighter (basically a first trim interior with specific pts textil and no options) short gears and a torquey 1.6 liter 8s derivate for the xsi. Interesting car, very fast on b road.

Great video but was disappointed when it wasn’t a Rallye it’s a S16 106
The Rallye for a start where only 8v
We aren't experts on these little cars so forgive us if we are technically wrong on the specific model designation.
There were 16 valves rallye in Greece and Italy
I have a Peugeot 106 Rallye 16 v on Greece model 2002 127 ps original.
When a detail means a detail, wow. Don’t wow much. Just love blue on Rally 106. Like a French racing Blue

We try to get one or two details like this out per month. It might settle a little Jan - feb just where we all take a little time off for Christmas but we will try to stay as consistent as possible with the drops.

To me that car is like a beautiful lady. An old classic with style & charm with charisma and looks. I could look at it all day.
I worked for Peugeot from an apprentice mechanic up to a qualified vehicle technician, I remember the 106 rally 306 rally the 106 gti 306 gti & the 306 convertible. Good old classic Peugeot not like this new rubbish today.

The attention to detail on these Auto Finesse details is incredible... Love the Peugeot too, one of the few french cars I'd like to own! White has to be the dumbest colour on wheels, but looks so good! 😄

Hi,
My first car was a 1998 phase 2 Peugeot 106 Rallye in Indigo Blue, and my second was a 106 GTI and i'm afraid this isn't a 106 Rallye.
The 106 Rallye was completely stripped of any luxuries and came with the following:
- 1.6 8v engine (this is the 16v from the GTI)
- Full blue colour coded bumpers (this has black trim)
- No fog lights (this one has them)
- Black door handles (this has colour coded handles)
- Blue interior carpets (these are black)
- Blue metal door cards (this is fully covered)
- Manuel mirrors and windows (these are all electric)
- Black cloth seats with Rallye coloured print
- Blue Speedo dials
- Black rubber gaitor with blue numbers (this has leather and metal cap)
- No power steering or drivers airbag (this has both)
- White steel wheels
This is a 106 GTI that has similar paint to the 106 Rallye but has taken the white steel wheels off the Rallye. Still a fantastic looking car and an epic detail ... I definitely know who to go to if i ever decide to get another 106 Rallye. Great job!

I know you probably not gonna tell me, but what does this kind of crazy detail cost ? Truly insane work, beautifully filmed, big respect guys!
We don’t disclose or discuss the price of individual jobs, it’s just not our style and has little relevance to anything other than that particular job, as everything we do is bespoke and based on hours spent. This had upwards of 70+ man hours put in to it, make of that what you will with current shop rates in your area and that should give you an idea.
Probably much more than actual value of this car. But it was an awesome job as usual ;-)

What polish you use for the Front headlights?
Looks amazing! How long does a detail like this typically take and what would somebody expect to pay?
It’s such a variable dependent on the car, condition and how far you want to take it. Ultimately it all comes down to man hours. Something like this has around 70 hours in it.
Expect at least $50 USD per hour
70 hours x +- 50dollars/h = 3500-5000dollars
Beautiful car & stunning transformation but it is a S16/GTI and not a rallye.
I have a LHD S16 myself.
Fair enough, we are far from experts on the French hot hatches, we can clean them well, thats about it.
