I've known the owner for many years and honestly seeing the car having this treatment is amazing! Life, family, kids and his back issues ment it sat idle for years and he really loves this car. Think we'll have to keep on him now to fix a few bits and get it out there again.

do you know if he ever found some front seats to match the rear individual suede ones?
@@thegxpguy he has them, always did but they weren't fitted at the time, the car was full of interior parts before the guys collected it
@@KenFilmsCars that’s awesome man, I’ve only ever seen one other individual model with that interior, someone was selling it about 7 years ago on stanceworks forums here in the states

You would think cleaning a headliner with steam, particularly on a BMW would be a terrible idea.

I do headliners for a living, can honestly say I've done more VAGs than enything else. Imo its not manufactorer related, mostly weather affects them, esp hot weather.
Yeah, definitely. Dry clean is a better approach to prevent sagging. Not sure about E38s, but I know E46s have very weak adhesive that likes to give up, especially with heat and moisture. I believe E39s are similar.

That’s dope. I got my 740i sport about 6 years ago from a guy in Japan and it’s been a dream since. Only saw one other e38 in person after all these years but seeing more online!
This car is a total Franknesteins Monster. Filled with non matching parts from other cars.

Yes mate the 2.8 24v straight 6 would have had 197 bhp when new and I regularly got mine over 150 mph .brilliant car it was

what an absolute frankenstein of an interior. Grey front seats, black rear seats, beige lower door panels on the rear doors, black piano trim in the front, brown wood in the back and a missing armrest in the back to allow for a big subwoover.. T_T

This car remains to be one of the best looking sedans ever.
A lot of elbow grease and plentiful bottles of cleaning product later, it looks like factory once again. The colour on this one is stunning!

The owner was always retro fitting better bits from higher model 7 series, I assume the rears are in his shed as this car was full of parts before it went to be cleaned. It'll get there

I just bought this here in the US and had the same detail done to it. How did you get the peeling clear coat on the drivers door corrected? I said to myself hell no he can't fix that with compound and polish because mine is still looking the same. Awesome bro
That was too far for detailing, we knocked it back a bit but it needs painting really
