My wife and I were fortunate to hear this played live a few years ago. Words cannot adequately describe hearing and seeing this played live in concert.
Im going to see them Nov 30th. hope they play this.
IF you don't know its a "spin off" from the band Savatage. check out Savatage when the crowds are gone.
ill be doing a review for this Album / TSO after i see the concert
When you see something live and in person it’s always better.
We played this yesterday at our orchestra concert. I was first chair for first violin and I was so nervous my hands started shaking.
Kami Lee We played it last night. I'm a cellist, though.
Ik this was two years back but like, I totally remember being first chair violin lmao, it ain't easy
Cellos will rule this world
I played this the other year in symphony and I'm in percussion, you orchestra people are too self-centered
Im a lead guitarist and let me say the little guitar licks are tricky.
Wow, cool!! With every new album the orchestra sounds more "natural" then on the older albums!! Not that artificial sound of strings! I just LOVE it!!!! :-)
This is the best song literally EVER. We are going to play this in my concert and I'm really excited for it.
Same here. Or, at least, we should be. The other chunk of the orchestra not in my class who's supposed to be doing this with us is struggling. We *have* do do this! It's our winter concert!
Us too!
If you like this track check out the music from the game Warcraft 2. It’s from like 1995 and this song reminds me of it so much
Nah, Victory is insurmountable.
This is my favorite song!!! Gonna play it this December for MY concert too!
Anyone here before Christmas? because their music is the best?
Would I agree? Yes. TSO rocks my world.
This is like my favorite Christmas song ever!!!
i really love Trans-siberian orchestra's christmas music the music they make is just straight awesome
A TSO album I never knew even existed!
It is impossible for me to listen to this without a strong sensation that it's great to be alive. Love, love, LOVE TSO!!!
dreams of fireflies sound a lot better than the dreams I've been having
Saw this done live at one of their concerts they had an opera singer with the violin, it was amazing, this was over 8 years ago and I still haven't heard anything like it.
Did you guys even notice this sounds a lot like queen of the winter night 🤔
God when we played this in rehearsal, it was so fun we played it twice
this song is the bomb
We get to play this in our highschool band this year!!
Played this in high school. I love this song.
Definitely. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to know someone is keeping their music alive and presenting it in a new way.
Love that someone else got the queen of the night aria as one of the songs along with the vivaldi winter.
The coolest orchestra ever! Thank you TSO!
I have to play this song and its hard but I love this song.
Every time I hear this song I just feel like dancing
Playing this for band. 1st flute🤗

My favorite song from u guys. It’s so raw and powerful
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!
I played drum kit for this song for band it was fun but a little hard and I don’t know why because now I can play it no problem
The Pittsburgh Pirates used this song the other day to introduce the starting line up, that was pretty awesome!!!
I always felt this song could be played year-round for different venues and reasons. I myself listen to it while working out.
I agree, a lot of their songs could be played year round. I listen to most of their songs year round...lol. Especially when I'm on the slopes.
This song came up on Pandora, and I could not stop listening to it but had to for one day. I come back and it's GONE!!!!!!!
I’ve seen a few extended covers of TSO songs. This one would be really cool to get an extended cover of
Glad to see I'm not the only one that noticed! Terrific piece of work.
TSO why must you make such wonderful music that I want to see you every year in concert
It's fantastic! More classic music adaptations! :)
TSO never fails to amaze me with their brilliance.

You can also put repeat behind youtube in the url.
Less than a minute into the song and I'm loving it.!!
Freshman in highschool and we're playing this! Wish me luck!
@Tom Harrison Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24) is my all time favorite TSO song. I just like the intensity of it with the electric guitar and all and how it is still able to sound like "traditional" Christmas song, in my opinion that is a rarity
Excellent rendition on Vivaldi's Winter Concerto No.4 in f, Op.8 - Allegro non molto
The picture is pretty lol. Do they do any 90s type music?
Crystal A They do use synthesizers, but thus far, none of their music has been 90s style.
What are you saying
Look at their Christmas Albums. They've taken old carols and updated them. Metal band, orchestra, choirs, and soloists.
I'm sure that if they were alive today, that Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, and Tchaikovsky would LOVE TSO and offer to sit down and write music with them.
On a very Christmas night
Determined to learn this song enough to enter the Play Along contest.
Likewise.
Did anything happen?
all of Mozart's works are so old they're in the public domain, so anyone can use them. Plus on their albums they always say where each song came from, even though the risk of getting sued by Mozart is zero.
My favorite TSO album covers ranked:
1. Christmas Attic -- Very realistic depiction of the theme, I love how the frost on the window is displayed, for example. Having grown up in the Rust Belt, my grandparents had a home with just this type of spacious attic, so I can verty much put myself in the scene.
2. Lost Christmas Eve -- Lighting of the toys/guitar snow globe is perfect, and the imagery is evocative. My hand, reaching for...? 🙂
3. Dreams of Fireflies (on a Christmas Night) -- Castle is very cool. Fireflies as Christmas lights (or vice versa?) is a fun idea.
4. Christmas Eve and Other Stories -- Christmas tree in a snow covered forest is great, but the poor kid would be freezing to death, no?
Opinions?
Love their Music.
i wish i won some tickets to this year's concert! im gonna miss out big time! i love this song though!
Great song, Awesome group!
This sings to my heart😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
🙂
This piece of music is beautiful 👍🏾
Already have this song done, now just to post it online for the play-alone contest! (:
wonderful...fits the holidays
I am playing this song right now! (Violin II)
This song and the girl with the snow in the background really reminds me of Queen Elsa from Disney's Frozen.
Winter of course! :D
Ima go see them when they come december 27
this is a certified vardohus fortress moment
playing this in band :P
very pretty. if i was to compete in a instrumental contest this would be my first choice
This song is sooo boss!
i'm listening on christmas eve!
Yep noticed that too! Love TSO
EPIC MUSIC
playing this monday at my concert
thanks for the name of this song, I was wondering what this is. I really, really, like it!
Love this sing
They do but it fits the song so well that it doesnt really matter!! :D
Love it
Who Else is listening to this in 2020
I have really dissected Christmas Eve / Sarajavo 12-24 which is based on two traditional songs, starting with the English, "God Rest ye Merry Gentle Men" and the Ukrainian Carol of the bells. I think the the thing that makes it so different is not just the new arrangement but the new music in the middle that breaks up the repetition and allows them build the song intensity. Just my opinion.
in my school we're doing a talent show in this song is going to be used
one does not simply listen to the song only one time!
I love all of the Trans Siberian Orchestra's songs they have composed. They are masterpieces. :)
Serina333 they did not compose this. It’s a copy of Winter, from The Four Seasons Suite, by Vivaldi. It’s plagiarism - theft of another’s work - if they don’t acknowledge this fact.
😮
TSO has always been known to recycle their material not only from previous TSO records but also from the original Savatage catalog :) I loved their incorporation of Vivaldi's melodies.
Me too :3
People are doing this with a musical style called Dubstep. Spread the word, post this message on every TSO video you see! If Paul O'Neil of Chris Caffery sees this, there's no telling what they'd be able to do. Chris would put the Rock/Dubstep element in to it, and Paul would put the Classical element in to it.
No. Just. No.
shade231 BWAHAHAHAHA
WalkerJC3 I'm a Dubstep Producer and I think this would be amazing. and shade231 , thats sad you would think of that......
Dawson Harrison I don't really listen to Dubstep, but I've listened to bits and peices of it. And In my opinion, I don't think TSO would sound as good with a Dubstep style. I think, from a musical and financial standpoint, that they would loose fans and money. They have already made their mark as a Christmas Rock band and people love it. I'm not saying that Dubstep is bad, I'm saying that some bands don't need Dubstep remixes or songs to make them sound better. It's similar to Auto Tune in which it's great for some people, but it's not so great for others. Now, this is just my personal opinion and I'm not trying to start an argument, but that's just how I feel.
ohhhhhhhh okay I see what your saying its cool. and I agree in a way. they could lose alot of fans because of the change. But maybe just one song to see how it goes?
Like a Beta test
This is juicy
It’s an amazing piece isn’t it😀
Vivaldi wrote the majority of what you hear in this piece actually.
I'm somewhat surprised by how easy their play-along song is.
Part of this is based off of Antnio Vivaldi's "Winter" Allegro non molto
I'm playing this on guitar for band.
ayyyyyy
Declan Leach aye lit
I legit cant stop listening to this. Vivaldi + power metal = yes
Declan Leach I know right. What's your # man. I don't want to text you from a RUclips comment section
Leif McCoy I'm playing this on the violin for a string ensemble.
Well, I think it's done intentionally because they are neo-classical rock. They like to mix and match classical pieces with each other. For example this instrumental has motifs from the "Queen of the Night" aria from Mozart's "Magic Flute" opera and Vivaldi's "Winter" violin concerto. But I have seen other times that they reuse their own riffs so..
cool
Cool :)
Im doing this song fkr a black light performance and im excited
Technically they wouldn't have to cite the original composers since the original pieces are public domain, but they do anyway and of course aren't trying to fool anyone.
Yes it is but it sounds very good!!!
