Great work Scott! As a designer I would totally suggest a dose of a bold color somewhere like a gloss black or eggplant colored table or perhaps some bold throw pillows for the couch. It will accentuate the floor and walls more instead of it all blending. Show off that great floor! You did an excellent job!!

Little tip from an interior design assistant... When you place your furniture on a carpet, only the front legs go on the carpet. Back legs always off. Also, so your carpet doesn't slide all over the place, get some carpet padding that way the area rug won't move or bunch up, plus it'll give you extra cushion for under the area rug.
thank you! we are getting a different L shape couch that’s much bigger so the 12x12 rug will just fit on the inside of the couch legs and the back legs will be off! considering the pad still but the couch should holddd
@@scottysire You're soooo welcome! Thank you for responding to my comment. I've followed and watched your videos for many years.. by far one of my favorite people. If you have anymore questions let me know! I'd definitely recommend some artwork, plants, end tables, maybe a floor lamp or just lamps for on the end tables, or you can do a long rectangle table, not very wide for behind the sofa, with some lamps on each end and or some decor, I would switch the coffee table out for an ottoman that matches the sofa. Use it as storage, or throw a decorative tray on there with some decor books, candle, things like that. Love the make over though. Don't forget some cozy blankets... Lol

Should add FELT PADS/SLIDERS on every furniture leg to prevent scratches and will glide over the surface vs scrape

Looks great, love the floor! Just a little suggestion. When you get the new sofa, I would back it up just a little to where the rug isn't seen out the back. Like, half on half off if that makes sense. Lol

Everything looks so amazing Scott YOU did great! I think you should just put the mirror by the tv rather than behind the door! It won’t be back lit, won’t have any chance of breaking if the wall shakes from the door, and it’ll fill the space between the door and tv much better than it’s awkward positioning now!

It’s much better to not have wall to wall carpeting in a house when you have allergies. It’s easier to remove dust, animal hair and dander from a hard floor than a carpet.

Entire treasure trove of videos on youtube of how to paint properly… it just takes 30-40 minutes to do some research and take some tips to not half ass stuff in the world… and yet people wont do it. That roller and the way you were rolling with it is going to leave streaks and splotchy color effects on the wall… love it.

i wasn’t going for it to look super garage floor-y but when i finished i realized concrete floor in the living room looked pretty garage floor-y and there isn’t an easy way to escape that. plus i was fine with it. sorry i hurt your feelings
