    Nobody wants to step up and be a leader. The Chicago Cubs have always been a team that grinds and has heart. Plays with passion. I see none of that.

      It’s cus the bullpen blows every game, that’s all it is. If the cubs can hold leads in the 7-9 innings the cubs would be 2.5 games out of first in the division

    I really don’t see a future for this team, the cubs in 2015 won like 97 games, which gave them a perfect vision for the future. Now they are 6 games below .500. What future do they have? What’s the answer for this?

    I said Counsell was going to be a disaster but nobody wanted to listen. He is a terrible manager with no personality and cannot motivate this team. They were playing so much better under David Ross and he was getting better as a manager.

      @JCar0106 12 дней назад

      There have been no good relievers on this team all year, except a thrift store guy Hoyer picked up after he was cut by the first place Mariners. What does that tell you, Counsell always had two or three elite closers in Milwaukee making him a 6 inning manager. This season is on Hoyer’s judgment, not just Counsell’s management. IMO. Although I’d like to see some emotion/passion.

    • @mizer9510

      @@JCar0106 Doesn't explain the fact that almost all the same relievers last season pitched way better under Ross. Why have they all regressed? Counsell is not using them right. He leaves them in for too long.

      They made us think all those things. It is a game of keeping your fans expecting things will turn and get better. When we open our eyes, season will be over with all Wrigley games at full capacity for a losing Cubs team. Then the plan of every off season keeping hopes we will go after the best free agents, where no one will be signed, then selling us the minor leagues “future stars” and this will be repeated again, and again, and again every year. Shame.

    If this farm system is so good, then bring up some of the kids, Put Cassie in right, Shaw at third, dh Morel and the right fielder, trade for a closer and catcher and give up some of those other minor league prospects. If anything else, try something different and quit waiting on these so called veterans to finally wakeup.

    This team does not have a 300 hitter in its entire line up. We have so many holes to fill and we go and pay a manager 7M and the team he left is playing even better. The farm system doesn’t mean shit they never bring players up and let them play. Perfect example 40 gets hurt and they bring up 20 instead of Canario. You can say all you want about how good they are if you don’t play them. They are not making the playoffs.

    Jed has YET to fill 3B, 1B, and 2B (we didn't need Swanson at SS, we had Nico, we needed a 2B) since 2021, that is really incompetent to be honest. 3 years to fill Rizzo, Bryant and Javier's position and to this day has yet to do that.

    I think I can safely speak for the rest of the NL Central and our advice is that the Cubs should do exactly what they are doing. Change nothing. Isn't it amazing that the Brewers spend
    $100 million LESS and are on top of the division? All the money that the Cubs spent in 2024 has you at the bottom of the division. Certainly things may change but there is such a log jam in the division with the Cards, Reds, and Pirates. I would wish y'all good luck but I don't think the Cubs would know what do with it.

    In my personal opinion, the achievements of any paticular team minor league systems, needs to go along with how many of them become good Mayor League Players. With much respect I dont care about rankings and how many are good in MiLB. They have to show it in the Majors. For me the Braves, Dodgers, Astros Brewers are the ones we should look at to imitate.

They play like they don't belong in the MLB. Do they feel like Anthony Rendon? They sure look and play like it. They are boring, no spunk, no spirit, and they are not a team. Look at the Padres, Yankees, Phillies, Rangers, Mariners teams, and how much of a unit they are. The stadium vibes is fun, the music is better, the silly but cute handshakes, the interactions from their managers is a refreshing thing to watch. It's not just about the winning, it's they play and the way they act. They should work in an office and sit in cubicles.
