    That fan was great all game. He was screaming his head off at some brutal calls the ump made starting in like the 5th inning to the point I thought he might get thrown out. The people around him seemed to get annoyed but faintly hearing him on the broadcast was hilarious

    Great base running by Quwn is an understatement, that was the deciding factor. He doesn’t advance on the Mookie throw, he’s on first when Max boots it and then only gets to second anyways with the boot. What happens next is anyones guss, but that was spectacular heads up critical base running; arguably the single factor teams can do to gain an edge in todays game. They don’t want to steal, well you better hustle when you can then because being 90 ft ahead is huge.

    • @Rayburn58
      @Rayburn58 2 года назад

      It wasn't great base running, it was executing the fundemantals like every player should. If he is not on second after the throw to third it's a huge mistake. But because so many of today's players are so fundementally weak it's considered greaat base running

    Kudos for your praise of that fan! I HATE seeing people in the seats schmoozing or texting or doing some other irrelevant activity while there is action on the field. Why do you come to the game? There are 2 primary good reasons to come to the game. 1. To enjoy the ambiance of the venue with other fans. 2. To support the team you favor where they can actually hear and see that support.
    You don't go there because you get a better view of the game; you get a much better view at home, especially with today's big screens and hi-def. You don't go so that you can better understand what's going on; 9.5 times out of ten you will get a better understanding of that from the TV or radio commentators than you'll be able to glean in person. And, unless you're in the really pricey seats, you're not going to be anywhere near as comfortably seated at the park, stadium, rink, or court as you would be at home.
    So unless you are contributing like that guy was, you are a waste of valuable butt space that a real fan could be using. You probably arrived late and will leave early to beat the traffic getting out. Your only contribution was monetary, and you could have just mailed that to the team office.

    I would’ve loved to see a shot of Quinn reacting and running the bases, I know it was two outs so he was probably just running it out anyways but he still got home pretty damn fast

    I watched this whole game. As a Dodger fan that kid was really upset a lot of the game. The umpire was giving some bad calls and the kid let him have it the whole game. He wasn’t wrong, even Dodger announcers were enjoying how animated he was. It wasn’t until this inning that he got excited and his team stepped up. Feel bad for Muncy man, he hasn’t been the same since his injury and you can tell it’s taking it’s toll on him. He just wants to contribute and that error really got to him in his after game interview.

    Your honor, I submit: in the infamous video where Mancini "attempted to go to 2nd," lots of wannabes noted that the 1st base coach was pointing at the bag, and that was a sign that he knew Mancini had turned to 2nd and was going to be tagged out. I argued that the 1st base coach was pointing at the base long before Mancini even did his little shimmy, and that the pointing was standard base coach language for "stay on the base, the ball is here/near." Those wannabes argued with me.
    In this video, you see the EXACT same thing from 3rd base coach, and note he is pointing LONG before Tucker does his little fake jump/overthrow thing. That is the base coach doing exactly what Mancini's coach did: as soon as he recognizes the ball is there/near/hasn't gone far away/whatever, he just points to the base. That is base coach language for "stay put." Of course, Realmuto didn't pay any attention to me, but that's besides my point.
    I rest my case.

    OMG to go from second to home on THAT play. The bobble did not slow down the play all that much, and it was actually a pretty great throw home. He must have been 100% going home the moment the ball was in play. He must have figured the second baseman would throw to first. Great hustle.

    In Muncy’s defense that ball did come up on him a little bit on that last hop. But that was incredible base running by Quinn. Textbook to take 2nd on the throw to 3rd and absolutely ridiculous speed to come around from 2nd on a simple ground ball. Base running is such a huge part of the game that it really should be appreciated more
