Why did they have to say “Single mother of 3” ? Why not just “Mother of 3”
Black.
Because she's single and struggling. Smdh
Don't mind those former slave owning, land thieving, smug hypocrites.
Don't let it bother you. Who cares what ''they'' think?
Whyte folks could have just said the mother of three. They have to put single because she was a black woman. This was an unnecessary and very cracker-fied statement by this news station..
Mom said what I was thinking if your kids cannot swim please advise them to not go into the water.....point blank period.
It has zero to do with knowing how to swim or not. It was a rip tide. Huge difference. Me personally I would not have gone in. I just treat everything as if it's a rip tide. They come in so quick and take you away before you know it.
Just say sorry damn someone is dead stfu
And sometimes even a strong swimmer is no match for the undercurrents & riptides.🕊️
The ocean can be unforgiving to non-swimmers. Red flags posted means danger to all.
It’s unforgiving for swimmers too.
@@carltonwalton9819 Absolutely. More so probably thinking they got this.
Lifeguards drown too! The water is very unpredictable my heart aches for this mother! Lord give her strength and comfort 🙏💜✝️
🙏🏽 for this family 👼🏼🪷💐
Sorry for your loss
It can happen so fast, even if you're a good and experienced swimmer. I can swim but I even had a moment when I was in my twenties at the ocean when I was swept out thirty feet unexpectedly by an undertow current. VERY scary and I can swim. I can't even imagine how terrifying it must have been for those young kids, now knowing how to swim and not really having an understanding of how quick and strong a current can be. Very sad situation, and condolences to the family.
Happened to my brother and to make matters worse when it took him far out everyone on the shoreline so a shark appear out there with him
My uncle saved him and the shark didn’t attack fortunately
How long did it take you to swim back? Did someone help you get back? I love the beach & pool but I can’t float or tread water. So I stay CLOSE to the edge or low end of the pool.
@@irinadavid6107 you should stay away PERIOD!!!
@@TJ-100 WTH. Wow. The water can be so calm and inviting one moment, and in an instant it can turn on you like a rabid dog. Wow.
@@IbelieveinJesusAmen I agree, but I guess it is so tempting. Go in at your own peril I guess.
So very sad blessing to the family 😢
Sad sad sad heart breaking my heart goes out to his mom 😢Will keep her and everyone else in my prayers💔🙏🏾
The very first time and he dies. This hurts my heart. This is so sad, so sad. Praying they get the funds they need to bring him home to be buried properly. The ocean has been so angry this summer its just not been safe to go out too far in that water, the current and rip tides are strong and can overpower even the best swimmer. Be safe people and watch your babies every second they in the water
My condolences to all ❤🙏
Wow... My sincere condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends 🙏🙏🙏
Please teach your kids to swim. Start when they’re young.
I don’t care how good my swimming skills are the water not coming past my knees. rip my Bruva

Sad. Sorry for her loss. Condolences to the family 💐 🕊️
I remember pressuring a friend to go into the beach even though I knew that he could not swim. The current was strong but we were not far. The water came to our waist. The current knocked my friend off of his feet and he went under. I was still standing and I watched him planking as he lay under the water motionless. I laughed as I said “dude stand up!” It was not until he opened his eyes in the salt water looking at me that I realized that he was drowning. I was thinking Htf is he opening his eyes in salt water? Does it not burn? I snatched him up and took him out of the water. I NEVER pressure those that can’t swim to enter the ocean any longer. He would have drowned if he had not opened his eyes watching me bc I had no idea that he was drowning! Every second matters. Rip to this teen.
That's scary but your theory of not opening your eyes in the ocean isn't true, I've been swimming in the atlantic my whole life, when u first get in yes you can feel the salt but can definitely keep your eyes open.
@@kanases YOU keep your eyes open. I’m from Florida and absolutely no one that I’ve ever encountered opens their eyes under the ocean bc oh how it burns.
@@citizencoy4393 Really, I swam in Florida but didn't close my eyes there either! I'm from the east coast of Canada.
@@kanases Lol you are a different breed! How did your eyes not burn?
@@citizencoy4393 I have no idea but it never bothers me, maybe I’m part mermaid? 😆 Stay safe in the ocean this summer!
Sending prayers to the Mother and family. Such a tragedy
Most teens play in the water with friends, even when they swim.
My condolences prayers up
Teach your children to swim. I had mine in lessons as babies. Everyone loves water, it doesn't take much training to teach your kids to doggie paddle, float on their backs. So sad this child has passed. Praying for loved ones.
It’s not all about swimming. You can get caught in a riptide that no swimmer can get out of
@@Jleed989 Experienced drivers die in car wrecks, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't learn how to drive. People should teach their kids how to swim as a preventative measure if they want to get into a pool, go to a beach, etc. It's crazy how people can get in a pool many times throughout their life, but won't learn how to swim.
😢condolences
My prayers, and deepest condolences to the family 💔💔💔

Everyone should learn and know how to swim.
'Most' of the time, it's okay to tell ypur teens "NO!" ME as a mother of a child same age would NEVER allow my son to go without me.

My condolences and prayers are with you my sister. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🌹🌹
My condolences to his mother and siblings praying for u and ur family may God help u raise the money u need an more to bring your child home blessings to u amen
Currents are no joke. I don’t play with water. I teach my daughter, stay away from it. I’ve seen people not in deep water at all but a current can suck you backwards . You’ll be right there one second and can’t stand the next. Be careful. Condolences ❤
Prayers for the family
It’s not just about knowing how to swim, though because experienced swimmers can be swept out to sea too. In those cases, they usually tell people not to swim against the wave, but to swim parallel to it until it subsides and then you can get out of it. I’m not an expert, but I’m just saying it’s not just people that can’t swim that get caught in the situation, but it’s still tragic. my heart goes out to this family. I cannot stand all of this death with young people. I just wanna get off the Internet sometimes. Mo

He couldn't swim and you went on vacation swimming?
Single mother of 3 she’s not the best with decision making
Happens all the time. I've seen tragic stories like this for decades. Mainly Georgians going down to Florida. People think wading in the ocean is like a pool.
Huh so if you can’t swim you can’t go to the beach. Stupid comment.
@@yalltrippingshe could be widowed or divorced. And I’m sure every decision you’ve made has not been a good one. Follow the saying “if you don’t have anything good to say shut the hell up”.

That’s why you don’t go in the ocean when you can’t swim.
Common sense is rare today.
Why would you go into water if can’t swim
@@Nikki-ib8ng young we do weird things when we're young
If you cannot swim wear a vest. That is what life vests are for wear them. You drive with a seat belt you swim with a vest. It is just that simple. My son wears his vest at all times. He does not get into the water without it.
This is just inhumane and pure evil.
How come nobody ever cry’s no more
If he can’t swim why yall didn’t tell them don’t go IN THE OCEAN Man his bless this lady sad
Maybe they thought they were just going there to enjoy the day and walk on the beach and put their feet in the water not actually go in the water.
You don’t like getting wet, learning to swimming or insurance, but the first on a cruise or getting caught in a current! The ninja -ring has absolutely got to🛑 😫
I have slightly better advice, look into swim lessons at your local recreation center, YMCA. Please learn how to swim and teach your children to swim while they are babies. It may be time consuming, but saves lives. Most sincerest condolences to this mother, family and everyone who knew that young man
At age 4 my dad threw me in a lake and taught me to dog paddle and float. At age 7, I started swimming lessons and went to Junior LG level when I stopped.
My siblings did the same. I thought it was a skill that all kids got. I was surprised it was not and thankful my dad threw me in a lake.
See this why my kids can’t go no place with no one or stay a night at nobody house nope if she work at the airport it can’t be brought home free
Why didn't he learn to swim, before hand?
Everyone doesn’t know how to swim. Everyone will not learn how to swim. Why the heck multiple people put this comment when someone drowns. Many people don’t understand how water can be dangerous. He probably thought he would okay if he didn’t go far out.
@@lcjones4682I agree. I swim quite well and I have been pulled by currents. It can be difficult to overcome them. This was just a kid who was looking to play in the water, cool off, and have some fun. My heart breaks for him and his family.
Millions of people don’t learn how to swim it’s not uncommon
@@lcjones4682 And it's typically people who live nowhere near the water who say this nonsense.
I'm from Florida. People who grew up near the water know that open water is not the same as a pool.
Good Morning Atlanta News First with Kari Barnett 😊👀😁🌞👍
Really not appropriate. This is about a young man who lost his life. Not the place for you to hit on the newscaster.
@@justmejenny7986 oaky sorry for their lost
Treat your children to swim starting from when they are young babies.
Your heart dropped, his heart stopped
Rest in peace young man🩷those rip currents are no joke even if you know how to swim…
Condolences to the family and friends. Unfortunately, this is the age of showings-off and extreme peer pressure to risk. Over speeding, dr×××, EtoH binging, etc. In some lifeguard circles, death by drowning at around this age is called " Cousin's Death" for almost always the kids are in dare game with cousins or peer friends when it happens.
Everyone should learn how to swim
Swimmers get caught in currents, too. Where do you live? Have you seen the ocean? been in it?
Always about getting money when one dies . Sad . Anita needa man
