    Please let me know what you think of this way of showing my code using code snippets instead of showing while I write it:) What would you prefer?

    • @ivans8713
      @ivans8713 10 месяцев назад

      i think its nice way of doing things with snippets, without getting too much into details why it works the way it works specifically for people who want to get things done asap. I would just slightly more explain where you make scripts, to what you attach them and stuff like that for beginners like myself. I can pause video and write down code in my own project to test it out but sometimes i get trouble understanding in what script you are writing particular code
      P.S. could be the case that you explained this in previous tutorial and i didnt check that bcs i am interested in camera movement :D. ill check last one as well its not that long anyways.
      also, add Unity in titles you will get more attention

      @@ivans8713 Thanks! I'll try to keep that in mind. Tried adding unity in the title now and reuploaded my short;) Maybe it will help!

    Is there maybe a way to automaticcaly bake the lighting into the texture as a pre-processing step? Manually shading each model seems kind of laborious...

    • @emilwalseth
      @emilwalseth  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah there definitely is, light baking is pretty common, but by keeping the models low poly, there is not alot of extra work needed to shade it, plus I get a bit more stylistic control over everything. For now I'll just shade them manually;)

    I got an idea for your game, the button to place a campfire is kinda.. uh, yeah you should make it a bit different. And make a tent, that you could place with the campfire. Good luck, and have fun!❤😉

    May I ask why you call it feature highlight instead of a devlog like most other game dev channels? More people know what to expect when they see the word devlog without needing to be too into gamedev themselves, and it seems to be more apealing to a wider audience in my mind at least. Perhaps I’m overlooking something obvious tho haha, I’m just curious

    • @emilwalseth
      @emilwalseth  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah I've been thinking alot about that, it will probably make more sense later, but what I'm thinking is having these feature highlights as smaller videos where I go a bit in depth on each of the features, and then when I have a bunch of features implemented, I will make a bigger devlog covering everything. The devlogs might appeal to more people, but then if anyone want, they can look at a feature highlight for a specific feature they would like to know more about. What do you think of that? I would love to get some input. You think it would be better to just call them all devlogs?
      When starting out I'd just like to get many videos out pretty quickly, so I'm starting with these now.
