Mukojima is the first stop on the Shimanami Kaido highway from Onomichi to Imabari in Shikoku. It can be crossed by the Onomichi Bridge, but the traffic is heavy and the sidewalks are narrow, making it dangerous to ride a bicycle. The government has instructed people to take a ferry to cross this section.

👍nice video, my last trip to japan we rode that same ferry and did the Shimanami Kaido. we stayed at the Green Hill hotel and rented a bicycle at the Onomichi Port Bicycle Terminal. We rode to the second Island, Innoshima and hiked up Mt. Shirataki ⛰⛩. got lucky because it was a clear day and the view from the top spectacular 😁

We have short distance ferries here in the states. Its Japan's long distance ferries that interest me. But to take a short trip for those twisted breads (donuts?) is worth it.
