      This machine has been in continuous service and used nearly every day since this video was uploaded. In that time frame, I have never replaced a gantry bearing or had one go bad on me. It is my opinion that the people that have gantry bearings fail, have the bearings drawn up too tight to the rail and don't allow for the inconsistencies of the tube. This table works as good today as the day this video was recorded. Absolutely no complaints!

    Josh I'd like your opinion on the hypertherm 85 v/s the 65 as far as quality of cut and capability. Is it worth it in the long run. Im thinking I can be in the 85 set up for cnc mahcine for maybe 3800.00 or so. Would you do the same thing if you coul do it over? Still happy with the pro?

    • @joshuazimmerman8631
      @joshuazimmerman8631  4 года назад +1

      Our shop had a Hypertherm 65 when I started working there. Shortly afterward we upgraded to the 85, and have since bought a second 85. It's worth every additional penny, both in speed and capability. It's the most powerful plasma cutter in the world that can be run on single phase current. Now that I have access to three phase I wouldn't mind upgrading to the Hypertherm 125.
      And yes, I'm still very happy with the Pro. A few things here and there that are to be expected with a first generation product but still an amazing value.

    Ordered my pro on Dec 29th, still waiting on the frame..I hope it's as good as you say with the torch height control...I got their Razorweld 45 plasma cutter and was wondering if I should have got a Hypertherm ot HTP instead.

    • @joshuazimmerman8631

      The USB motion control board is a custom PCB made by Langmuir Systems. It contains all the inputs for torch height control all on one board.

    I get my Pro this week. I have a Hypertherm Powermax 65 with a hand torch. Are you implying that an extra card is needed in the plasma machine to get the torch height control to work? I heard you said yours had one in it?

    • @joshuazimmerman8631
      @joshuazimmerman8631  4 года назад +2

      Yes, torch firing is accomplished through a CPC port in the back of the plasma cutter. It's a six-wire cable that connects to that port and the voltage divider card that gets installed inside the plasma cutter. The whole kit costs about $100 from hypertherm. And yes you will need it to run your torch height control....
      To use the CPC port you also have to be using a machine torch. The torch fire terminals are locked out electronically when a hand torch is connected.

      Joshua Zimmerman I have a Crossfire table now and upgraded like you. I was able to go into the machine and tap into the torch firing signal. Works great. Thanks a lot for the feedback.

    Is the software hard to use? Will a 60gallon air Compressor work will this? Also does it give off a lot of smoke and sparks?

    • @joshuazimmerman8631
      @joshuazimmerman8631  4 года назад +1

      The software definitely has a learning curve, but once you've learned it it's fairly straightforward. As far as an air compressor, you need to check what CFM it is putting out. And as far as smoke and sparks, The water table greatly reduces the smoke and fumes, but there will always be sparks with a plasma...

    This is a horrible company to deal with. In a nutshell I ordered what was advertised as a no hassle pre-order cancellations. Well long story short they 1. I requested to cancel the pre-order 2. They updated their return policy, removed the no hassle bit and then stuck on a cancellation fee. Thats some shady business practices. What kind of a company does this??
