He said "invite Chris Degarmo back". Wow that would have been a game changer. Even now they should bring him back. He was one of my favorite guitar players when I was growing up.
@@newavatar2947 You'd think if the guy put so much of his life into Queensryche he would at least do ONE show or maybe a reunion tour with at least the current lineup
@@a.kguitars930 if he did even one show it would set a firestorm of reunion rumours. Maybe he is at peace living a quiet, family life. Besides, he was there during the bands peak so what's he gonna do...make a guest appearance at some overseas festival where Queensryche is 10th on the bill?
Seen them in Dayton, Ohio in 1991 on their Empire tour. I have seen hundreds of bands play and this show was by far my favorite show of all time. I agree, Operation Mindcrime was perfect and there was no need for a part 2.. I remember just staring at Chris's guitar because it was so colorful and I was so close.. Love Queensryche..
Lori Sloan marry me? lol nice to see an old school Queensryche fan that happens to be female! saw them in '00 opening for Maiden on brave new world tour. Who else do u like?
nameless76 mozwhaz I love so many bands. Seen Metallica in 88 on their And Justice for All tour. I just love rock music and concerts. My daughter and I go to concerts all the time.
Awesome. I saw them on that tour too with the Cult. And then 3 more times on black and summer sh*t binge and purge and an evening w/metallica where they had the movie bout Cliff instead of an opening band. Seen Maiden, Queensryche, danzig, korn, godsmack, breaking ben, plant n page etc..keep rockin\m/!!
Yes, the Cult was awesome. Their singer broke 2 mic stands 10 minutes into the show. I've also seen Korn, Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, FFDP, SixxAM, Slayer, Slipknot, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendancies, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Butcher Babies, and so many more.. I will be rocking til I die... You too my friend \m/
unfortunately so... they ended up following Geoff's vision. if they lost him they would've desolved. with Todd's new Record it seems they have some steam again. and I talked to Michael Wilton last time he came to town and he told me Chris is warming up to the Idea of possibly returning for a spell... we shall see.
I feel like a reunion with Chris DeGarmo could happen. He's still friends with the band, but he's a pilot now and occasionally works as a session guitarist.
I thought the same thing recently. Any answers would be suspect. Still the most amazing display of guitar playing and manipulation I've ever personally witnessed.
I guess I'm the only one who thought MindCrime II was killer. I thoroughly enjoyed that record, though it would definitely have been better if they could have lured DeGarmo back for it! Of the loss between Tate and DeGarmo, DeGarmo was the the biggest hit to the music, considering Todd la Torre has filled in exceptionally well for Tate!
The problem with Mindcrime II is that it wouldn't have mattered, because only about 15% of the album is anyone else in the band (not including Geoff Tate). Geoff basically started trying to replace the band without kicking any of them out.
It's not really a Queensryche album to me, and it doesn't deserve the name of Operation: Mindcrime II! The album is written only by Tate, Mike Stone and some other outside writers, some of Eddie's basslines were re-recorded, Whip hardly received songwriting credit and Scott didn't even perform on that album.
I could watch 20 hours of this. So many questions that need answered. How much did they play on Mindcrime II? I heard next to nothing of them was used.
I have to contest around 11:00. If they only heard Todd could sing after Geoff was gone and all that then how do they explain "Rising West". Nah, I have to believe it was a little more planned than that.
Wilton meant after things blew apart for Queensryche in South America (the spitting incident), the band was taking most of the year off to cool their jets. That is when Todd mentioned his uncanny ability to mimic Tate. During the hiatus, they played 2 Rising West shows to test fan reaction, and when it was positive, they pulled the trigger.
So, on RAGE FOR ORDER, what was the "suction cup sound" on "Neue Regel," about 58 seconds in? I think it's someone's voice, but what, exactly is it, and how was it made? I've always loved that!
That was done with an Emulator. "Finally released in 1981, the Emulator was a floppy disk-based keyboard workstation which enabled the musician to sample sounds, recording them to non-volatile media and allowing the samples to be played back as musical notes on the keyboard. " Sort of a precursor to the synclavier.
I'm sorry guys, with all due respect, I understand you want to keep on playing and doing your job, but to me there is no Queensryche without Chris DeGarmo.
I liked Queensryche , but honestly without DeGarmo and Tate they're basically a cover band at this point . Operation Mindcrime 2 is probably one of the worst ideas any band has ever had for a record . Rush never had to make a 2113 .
MindCrime II was Geoff Tate's idea. The reason Queensryche was so bad up through Dedicated to Chaos was because Geoff Tate took all of the songwriting over after Tribe.
@@keafoleafo8368 see? those last 5 albums with Tate suck that not even his most loyal fans remember those shit. Proof that he isn't QUEENSRYCHE no more.
I’m sorry but I don’t believe for a second that Wilton never heard LaTorre sing before asking him to do some drumming for him. He probably by that time was looking for any excuse to ditch Tate which was their biggest mistake ever.
My 2 favorite bands of all-time are KISS, and Queensryche, and my all-time favorite album is Operation Mindcrime....no other album by anyone is close. I agree with the fellas....why mess with a perfect album by adding onto the story?
Because they dicked over their main singer, frontman, golden goose, songwriter, everything. I get that he can't really sing anymore but fuck, they totally forced him out of HIS band. I can't believe the courts sided against Tate. It'd be like if Iron Maiden toured and wrote records with Steve Harris.
Going to see them for the 2nd time in 3 years with Parker/Todd in the line-up. Eddie and Michael are still Eddie and Michael. Scott??? Being litigated. Todd can go note for note with Tate (who is awesome) and the writing is still there. The Verdict tour I saw in Houston was great. And the intro of Parker Lundgren was refreshing and his skills are sharp on his 3 octives Caparison Orbit guitar (27 frets). Great line-up. Great show. Been there and going again March 21. I saw them twice with with Chris and Geoff and Scott. Great shows. Nothings changed but the line-up.

The band's last album with Chris (Hear in the Now Frontier) was a terrible album.
