I really miss this sound. I keep going back to Short Bus, it is this masterful little disc of pure angry awesome noise, definitely one of my 90s faves.
I remember walking into a record store in 1995 when this first came out. The clerk was playing "Hey Man Nice Shot" on the stereo. Halfway through the song I asked, "Who's this?" he replies, "Filter." I nod, and continue shopping... "Dose" comes on next. I RUN back to the clerk, "Where is it? I'm buying it."
Dude I love this story that's almost exactly how I got mineI think the place was called Camelot records at the time places like that don't really exist nowadays but I walked in heard hey Man Nice shot and was just like okay this s*** is rockin where's the tape,!! I think I also picked up vulgar display of power that day I was about 13 or 14 life was good
Facts. Not enough ears have heard their gems yet. I’m 20 and I ain’t heard one mouth around my age say the band name “Filter” or a name of any song of theirs🤦🏽♂️
What I wouldn't give to be able to scream like Richard Patrick. His voice has a great ragged edge - the ability to convey the inner agony that is somewhere inside each and every one of us. This "High Calorie" emotional wrenching isn't something I can listen to all day, but when you need a "Dose" of this kind of intensity, Filter delivers!
The thing I love about Filter.... Is their music is perfect for when I'm in the mood for something super heavy with big energy....that isn't dumb sounding. There's _plenty_ of "heavy" bands that have no real creativity or pathos. Filter is an order of magnitude better than that. Also, they have their poppy moments on some songs...with Take A Picture being the pinnacle...but I genuinely love those songs as much. They blended raw aggression with catchy hooks so well.
Holy shit. I was listening to Silverchair and stumbled upon this today. I'm so late. I love bands/artists with that aggressive 90s tone in certain songs
The producer during the recording sessions for Short Bus: "We payed a lot of money to rent that voice scrambling machine, and damnit we're going to use it on every song."
Just imagine seeing a short bus during *these* days with messages such as "ALL IS NOT WELL" painted on the sides of it, an album cover also slapped on the sides and on the hood, and speakers on the top blasting industrial metal publicly while driving around YOUR city and/or town and you're in one of the cars next to it, walking, or riding your bike on the same streets that an insane band is driving around in blasting metal music through cranked up loudspeakers. 📢 🔊 🤘😈😛
Finally got to see these guys for the first time a month ago. Been waiting 13 years to see them, it was well worth the wait. can't wait till the next time.
This is hands-down one of the most BADASS music videos of all time!!! THEY LITERALLY DROVE AROUND TOWN BLASTING DOSE AROUND THEIR CITY IN A MOBILE SHORT BUS RECORDING/BROADCASTING VEHICLE!!! Ntm, maties, this is Filter's BEST song THEY EVER RECORDED imo!!! 🤘💯🔥🛠😎
This is the shit. The whole album defines Filter for me. I love this song. I dont know what happened but not long after this I saw them on MTV beach spring break playing live in matching leather jackets and singing "Tall Tree" or whatever that crap was. Working for MCA or listening to managers in LA will do that I heard.
I remember that. They were singing the first song from Title of Record. They had models walking the runway too. I started getting into Filter after watching it. :)
Richard & Robert Patrick damned near ruled 90s music, TV & cinema. Robert was T-1000 in Terminator 2 & also on The X-Files as Agent Doggett after David Duchovney took a break. Richard quit NIN & formed Filter which encompassed the sound of grunge, metal, industrial & electronic music of the 90s. I grew up in the 90s and have nothing but respect to both of them. They both helped shaped my childhood & musical tastes for the decade.
After a decade of music interest changes pulling me far away from the music I used to listen to back then, I'm finding myself still liking Filter... a lot
This song’s album came out a year before I was born and I wish I could of enjoyed the 90s at an older age so I could of went to the record store to buy this album! The 90s was something else!
The colors of the Freemasons. Also see the covers of Iron Maiden’s album Powerslave (replete w/ all-seeing eye pyramid), Kanye West’s album Jesus Is King, etc.
Oh yeah, this stuff is fucking excellent man. Brings me back to the best of times for me, the 90's. Hell yeah, I tell you, Short Bus and that Deftones album Adrenaline, = the best fucking life as a teenager. I'm so lucky that I happened to be 16 when this shit first came out.
I always thought the Patrick Bros. were hot. All time favorite Robert Patrick role of course was the T-2. Also like that really cool guest starring spot he had on L&O: SVU a few seasons back. He's a great actor, but he's especially awesome when he's playing bad guy roles.
i seem to remember a magazine-article that said that the retirement community next-door to their first rehearsal-space was complaining about their noise... ;0

Same here, one of my all time favorite albums I can go back to and listen to all the way through. I lost touch with them when they got real soft.
311 type shit

Whole first album is a damn classic. Short bus is a underrated gem.
Bad ass song! Been 1 of my fave since it came out! Sad music like this ain't being made anymore! Today's Rock SUCKS!
I can totally relate. Used to spend hours browsing music. The Warehouse was right across the street from my high school. Perfect place to sluff. lol

I remember listening to this album on one of those kiosks with the headphones they used to have in the mall when new records came out
filter is one of the most underrated bands of all time fo sho

Yes they where also was VAST so many missed out on them both
Amen to that brother
Not enough airplay
Whatever their loss filter is totally cool
Hands down one of the best songs from the 90's.
Completely under the radar from the 90's? One of the best for sure!
Ye, this song and Dope - Sick. 🤘😈🔥
Filter was one of those bands that benefited by a lower production. Their grimy guitar tone and “filtered” vocals were so good!
I get to see filter open for Jerry Cantrell this coming February in Tulsa.

There needs to be a diecast based off of the van. It would be a perfect collector's item for any Filter fan.

@@Officialfilter Is that including or mot including Tinseltown, Richy? 🤔🤘
Short bus is a highly underrated album. These guys deserve way more credit than what they get.
and that's why the electric guitar is the most expressive instrument we know, what a nice and simple show off of that...
That van was really rocking back in '95.
I love you, Filter. You made my days with your tunes in the 90's. I will never forget you! x
Short Bus is incredibly underrated, I wish there were more videos of the tracks from it on this channel
The producer during the recording sessions for Short Bus: "We payed a lot of money to rent that voice scrambling machine, and damnit we're going to use it on every song."
This song and You Walk Away From Me are the best songs Filter ever recorded imo!!! 🤘👏👍
Another Dose of Filter from the mid 90s over n over.... 🖤🤘🔥
I was waiting for the short bus when I first heard this song. Since then I've never been the same.
🤣🤣🤣
One of the best albums ever created.

It's technically Industrial Metal but ok... "Rock" is one way to describe it amigo👍 👌 🙃😆
@@roo_nu_metal_derg_1 heres a taste of your own medicine. UM aCTuAlLy you fucking redditor, its post-industrial

I still remember my first time seeing these guys at the Odeum in Villa Park. Such an awesome energy in a live show.
Dose, yup the beginning of this song my God. These guys are pure genius!
After a decade of music interest changes pulling me far away from the music I used to listen to back then, I'm finding myself still liking Filter... a lot
It seems to me that this is one of the most underrated bands, fucking track, on repeat

You will still like it when your are 60. I still love the music I heard when I was 16... in 1971. Some pretty heavy stuff came out in 1971, bty.
Classic Filter. Beyond awesome.
Miss this Kind of music!
I've been losing my hearing to this CD since it first came out!
Yes!!!! I always come back to it at some point.
Such a great album, so underrated , and yes i judged it at first by, " Hey man..." , as well.
The best Filter song.
I'm not really familiar with this band. I'm a huge Nirvana fan but damn, when i heard this.... i was like WTF DUDE this song is so badass
Get the album this is on called Short Bus the whole album is good.
Yeah same here surprise 😮
killer tune
short bus is a stand out album - it's brilliant
+this is a great song!!
Helmet .. another under rated band from the same era ..
YES! MEANTIME FTW
Love this song!!!!!!
Pure passion
Shout out to anyone who remembers seeing this on MuchLOUD back in the day.
...Is it bad that I think this is truly their best song??? because I do.
Not at all
For me personally, it’s either this or Take Another
@@percdI like this and hey man nice shot and so I quit
Short bus starts off so strong. Song kills
You got that right! Amen brother!
Less than a week.... Freak's on parade let's goooooooooooo🤘🖤🤘

Classic filter I love his singing
nothing better than the 90's
Muito bom 🇧🇷 ❤
2024 anyone?
Pure gold masterprice
great song
This is the Filter I prefer to remember, the more grunge inspired rather than the techno/industrial stuff they have been doing as of late.
I used to have this tape.
God s good ... Filter☄️
tucking in shirts is boss af.
They were edgy lmao
my anthem :]
Overshadowed by 'hey man nice shot'.... Damn I miss this intensity
this is before Filter sucked. Short Bus was an amazing album.
If u listen really hard it puts u n a trance.
I cut the bass on this so that I don't wake up my old lady and the kids in the morning. Every time I do, if feels like blasphemy :D
God what a delicious sound
I realized Richard Patrick is always sporting a different hairdo in every music video he's in.
bullshit they are so underrated! masterpiece
I struggle with why they didn’t Sign with nothing records they deserved way better so underrated :(
RICHARD PATRICK! Music needs you back!
i seem to remember a magazine-article that said that the retirement community next-door to their first rehearsal-space was complaining about their noise... ;0
Filter... Was... A grunge band... 😮
@scottropa - Interesting, since I saw them last November and hung out with them after the show. Try going to a concert this year. :)
