The Kumara Parvatha trek is undoubtedly one of the most difficult treks in Karnataka. Trekkers usually as us what makes the Kumara Parvatha trek so difficult.
People from all over the country, especially from South India visit the temple to get their wishes fulfilled by making offerings. Devotees fill the temple premises almost all the time.
Right behind the Kukke Subrahmanya temple, standing tall is Shesha Parvatha, with its thick blanket of the lush green forest of the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary.
Kumara Parvatha or Pushpagiri is the name of the peak which is hidden most of the time and is visible only after crossing Shesha Parvatha, but the entire trail is popularly known as the Kumara Parvatha trek.
Kumara Parvatha is the second highest peak in Kodagu district, only after Tadiandamol and the fourth highest peak in Karnataka.
Vishnu Benne, who has done this trek 14 times till now, talks about the different sections and the difficult parts in each of these sections in this video.

My friend did this as his first trek. He was completely fine.
Me too, on last Sunday 🤘
good. he must be very fit
Exactly I had gone there as part of a school trip in 5th std
I successfully completed my first trek on Kumara Paravata on 24th Jan without any prior experience in trekking. I will say it is a moderate one, but difficult at times. I was sceptical after seeing comments on videos about difficulty of Kumara Paravata. But I would say just trust your body and mind and do it like mini Marathon 💯.
P.S. I am a fairly active person with strong legs, I play cricket regularly and workout or do body weight workout three times a week.
how much time it will take
@@ambestergogaming7029 Some people will start in the early morning and go to the summit and ascend to the starting point that day itself. Normal packages will start at morning and reach the camp site by afternoon, then next day early morning will go to the Summit for the sunrise and ascend to the starting point, Mostly, people will be reaching the starting point by evening. So, it's a 2 day event.
My life's first trek was Kumara Parvatha and I completed it. Its just a Heaven ❤️❤️❤️
I did this trek as my first trek .......and also reached the highest peak without any preparations and that too on 1st june 2019 in monsoon season which according to you is the time when KP trekk is closed for trekkers!!!!!
This is definitely a difficult trail.......out of 13 people in my group ... only 5 including me could reach the peak.
Those who could not make it to the peak , were mostly a little bit fatty ones with a much heavy backpack with them, so as per my experience a fine more than just a slim person, with less backpack can definitely complete the trek.
Well I did this trek without any previous preparations
I sip my tea whenever he says 'quite' .. now I'm having my third cup
Well, as long as its just tea, you're 'quite' safe. :)
Hi. Which are the treks you recommend before we attempt Kumaraparvatha?
Very good Brother 👍
Thank you very much
This is the first ever trek and I did it 😍😍😍😘😗😗
We want to do this trek around june 13-15 dates, can we do it?, some one is saying it is closed during that period
people from jnk - umm what was tough in this trek? it's more like a morning walk :/ just don't scare people !
Bro, quick question. So I start from kukke and reach forest department check post and from there to the summit.
How long is kukke to the checkpoint and from there to summit?
As you mentioned we can camp near forest department check post, do you mean that I can reach the summit from checkpost to sumit and return back to the checkpost on the same day?
Around 6.5 kms from the trek start point to bhattre mane/Forest checkpost. And around 7.5kms from the checkpost to the peak. 13-14kms one way. Yes you can start from the checkpost, summit and get back down to the trek start point(kukke) on the same day. I suggest camping at the checkpost overnight(So start the trek at around 2 in the afternoon, reach the checkpost/bhattre mane and camp there) and do a summit push early next morning(5AM). Carry a tent.
It is the most memorable trek of my life and I had a lot of fun doing it. Make memories! They will last a lifetime.
Pro tip: Carry a few packets of electrolytes with you, this trek involves a lot of climbing and you are sure to cramp up if you do not consume electrolytes. Also use a trekking pole/stick, sticks are available with the juice vendors right outside the trek start point.
Good luck!!!
@@JohnCena-dc8eo thank you buddy! I was suppose to be there on this trek today. But due to ksrtc bus strike my the travel was cancelled...
But am planning next weekend for sure.
Just one question, if I carry the tent, should I book a place well in advance for camping overnight or will there be sufficient place for camping. Considering all the crowd.
@@CasualBiker there will be sufficient place to camp. You have to book the tents and sleeping bags online.
Completed the trek and back home today. Did it solo.
It was good and difficult too... But doable, rest breath and keep going!
Planning to do it again and this time from somvarpet side!
@@CasualBiker good stuff man. I'm going back this weekend!
What is entry fee bro
Only wish the IH makes similar videos for other treks too.Puri
I saw some snow... which months can I expect snow ?
At Kumaraparvatha? It doesn't snow in the western ghats. Perhaps you saw rain / hail stones.
Is it possible to complete with in one day?
It is possible if you have been trekking regularly and have done KumaraParvatha multiple times. But I would not recommend it if you are doing this trek for the first time Ganesh
He means 5 kilometres in 30 minutes?

What about water sources for toilet and bathing
We have extensive documentation of everything you need to know here: indiahikes.com/documented-trek/kumara-parvatha-trek/#faqs-on-kumara-parvatha
Once you are on the trail, your water pointsare either Bhatta’s house or the Forest Office. So, ensure you carry a minimum of 2 water bottles of 1-litre each and fill them fully. Except these, there are no other water sources on the trail
There are no toilets as such. Carry a shovel with you. You can follow the cat pit system (ruclips.net/video/cCl9a_a1gsA/видео.html)
