In this episode , we deep dive into small details of the Rupin Pass trek, one of India's most well-known treks. Rupin Pass is a trail that crosses over from Uttarakhand to Himachal Pradesh, over an adventurous mountain pass over 15,000 ft.
While the trek is widely known for the surprising changes in scenery everyday, there are several details that trekkers tend to miss out on. The trek's snow bridges, vast snow fields, the unique pass crossing -- these are not often seen on other Himalayan treks. And Rupin Pass has the best of them.
Arjun Majumdar, the founder of Indiahikes, explored the trek in 2008 and opened it up to trekkers after founding Indiahikes in 2009. Over the past decade, he has done the trek several times and holds the trek very close to his heart.
In this first episode of the Trek Deep Dive Series, he dives deep into the trek and tells all trekkers what to watch out for on this trek. Hi Shubhajit, you can expect quite a lot of snow as it has snowed heavily this year in the months of April and May.

Are the snow fields present after mid June as well? Do trekkers get to witness the beauty of snow this time around?
Not too much, unless it's an extremely snowy year like 2023. This year, you will likely see snow all the way till the end of June. But usually, May and first week of June is the best month to see this amount of snow.
