That thing is an absolute ANIMAL!!! That launch is unreal!!! And the guy knows how to drive too! People’s biggest mistake is not letting off the throttle. He effortlessly wheelied, let off gracefully, and came back into it. Props to whoever’s truck that is.
Mark is a good friend of mine. He’s had that truck since he was 16. I’ve seen it go through a few changes in blowers over the years but once he went turbo…DANG! That’s a scary little truck there.
@@lawrencecoleman7850 the grand national actually had a single turbo 3.8 in it. It was the GMC syclone and typhoon that's had a single turbo 4.3. Stupidly fast trucks for that time
This is awesome. Any idea where we can get detailed info on his engine build? Would really like to know what heads and if its an even fire balance shaft motor.
Mark is a friend of mine. He and his dad Frank run Frank’s head and engine service in Griffin, Ga. I’ve seen that truck go through many changes over the years.
Makes me want to do something with the one I had built a few years back. The perimeter bolt valve covers look like the ones I’m running which leads me to believe he may have Brodix heads. My 4.3 V6 is actually a 298ci Stroker with a billet Scat 3.875 inch even fire crank, Scat H beam rods, Racetek forged .040 over pistons. 1989 non balance shaft block with steel 4bolt main caps. Brodix 210 heads, ARP studs throughout. That’s the basics. Wasn’t cheap to build but it halls ass for a NA V6. Can’t wait to turbo it.
that's a Georgia truck! I used to live in GA before I moved to Kentucky. but use to watch that truck run at Atlanta motor speedway for Friday night drags. and that truck use to have a blower on it.
The 4.3 V6 is really a 350 SBC with two pistons missing but the bore and stroke is the same as a 350 cu in SBC and if you get the later Vortec engine the heads are the best stock head on the market but if you port it and put bigger valves in them they work great for cast stock heads.
If you want power you'll have to make your own custom intake manifold, otherwise modify an edlebrock intake for a carbed 4.3 there are only 2 options besides plastic stock
Try cutting down a tpi first intake reason for it the long tube helps for our rpm range application the other short runners won’t be that effective because they are meant for higher rpm is why ppl don’t see much gains they might as well keep the factory intake but the fast is perfect to low and mid power research it and see what I mean
Sorry for the late response but I think the best intake manifold is the eagle marine ones. They cost around $700 but have fuel rails and injectors already installed. Probably the simplest route too
I've been having a blast glad you're joining our goofy asses i spent 5k on engine block n internals, just getting stuff mounted and the truck lightened up n ill be hitting the track good luck dude
The bars would limit the truck to the unlimited class only, thats why most don't put bars on, guy just needs to tune his suspension, or spend more money on better shocks
@@TheMlc4life i like the block out of my 99 tons of performance parts that fit a small block v8 bolt on to the 4.3 everything is the same except missing 2 cylinders
Has anyone ever tried to de-stroke a turbo 4.3?🤯 The rpm would be insane! It'd probably redline around 7,000 maybe higher, depending on how much you decreased the stroke.
A shorter stroke doesnt automatically result in a higher redline the engine has to be designed to be high revving from the jump. A cam is what raises rpm redline, a shoter stroke just happens to help along with that cam
The Driver though!!! That luv got plenty of love ❤️

4.3 Chevy was one of the best or maybe the best v6 ever built, basic, plain and simple easy to work on and very tunable.

It was scary with the little B&M blower and no seatbelts with 225/50s on the back lol. I miss Griffin, never thought I would say that.
Needs a video of it let us know the build it's kik ass
4.3 has always been a sleeper in my eyes. It just takes knowing what to do to them.
And being able to secure the obsolete parts for them like Bowtie blocks and billet cranks.
Way more tunable than the Camaro V6 tbh
I believe the Grand National had a 4.3 engine with a single turbo and they are fast as hell

Where did you get that stroker crank for your v6
It has horsepower a lot of those small blocks have minus some of the weight and that equals C-YAAA!!! 😎
That LUV showed them what tuff LUV is he rolling

Those twins are workin J low 5 second truck if he can keep it on the ground
Badass little truck there🔥🔥🔥👍
i would love to build my 4.3l in my truck, but i need a good daily so i aint touching it until i get another motor to play with

Picked up a 99 2dr one owner blazer...4.3 vortec...likes to still get out...and play..!! 😊👌
When yo turbos are twin, yo ass gone win!
Maaaan that white Malibu had Luv sitting there getting hot, and still left so late.
You got good taste in trucks brother 👌🏻
Makes me wish I had my 4.3 TH350 Chevy Luv back!! Kept snapping stock rear ends though!
Turning some serious rpms!!
What intake y’all runnin on the 4.3? I can’t find anything descent. Please help lol

Maybe has some weight aft of the axel under the cover.
Would a turbo 4.3 make a good engine for an okd Datsun 240z? Asking for a friend.
I’d love to know what his times are & what the trap speed is. Anybody know? He’s gotta at least be in the 8’s
Dam can’t wait till go go boosted🔥🔥
That's it I'm building a 4.3 its already apart

Me too just got online and went to summit racing to get most of the parts for the engine build for my Silverado single cab
I know a guy running 4.3 twin turbo in his Vega and it's a screamer for what it is.
I had a 1993 S10 4.3 and it was a boss
How much rowdy do you want?
All of it.
Image the Luv truck coming back with a 4.3V6 or a S10 twin Turbo
Can you feel the Luv
MAN I LIKE THIS LIL TRUCK, IT STUPID FAST, EVEN WHEN IT LIFT UP IN THE AIR, BUT IF IT STAY ON FOUR WHEELS WHEN IT TAKE OFF EVERYTIME, 💨💨💨
That v6 is moving J Malcolm
I’m surprised that he doesn’t have wheely bars on it. He’s leaving hard.

rods pistons valvetrain most likely. stock crank will start to bend around 550-600 crank but with these motors that's usually around 700ft lbs by then
if you ever had one these are the biggest heap of shhh

I wish it was exactly that. Unfortunately, that offset rod pin crank is a bit weak and the oiling system leaves the mains a little under lubricated.
