Lotta people sleep on the 4.3.....GMC Typhoon/Syclone were some of the quickest trucks ever built. Now, ya find some old school circle track stuff from back in the day for the 4.3 like the Brodix heads and 4 bolt main blocks, add boost....and yaha!
Mark Harris I watch that truck go from setting in a back field couldn't even see the truck from the trees and weeds growing through the window. When he pulled it out of the bushes, we all was laughing. Mark said laugh now but you will want it later. I remember I rode in the truck when had the two 10 hundred dominator's on it. Funny thing I couldn't touch the dashboard with just a little gas. Lol
I just sold my 1980 mint condition Chevy Luv Mikado edition. It had all the badging, 85,000 miles and A/C. I had to park it outside (Florida) due to garage occupied by one Porsche 911 and one Alfa Spider. I would have kept it but I could see that rust was going to do its thing - and very quickly. That's the only reason I sold it. Seems that everywhere i went I got compliments. Seems like everyone had one back then....

Can't wait ti get my dads old 73 LUV back on the road.......
Miss you dad🙏🙏🙏
This is great ! my fist car was a yellow 79 chevy luv and I replaced it with a 85 Chevy Astro van with that same engine . Fantastic .

low boost until you buy a custom crank for them though...
❤ it's really hard to kill a 4.3, dang'it if we could just find parts, not easy. I've been thinking about building my 1988 blazer 4.3
How can you not find parts ?
@@VaLentinoR46duca that would be performance parts and I didn't say couldn't, it's just not easy and if you do it's expensive. Be Safe 😁
That ole truck will move!👍🏾
Love that paint job
I LOVE IT!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

If this was in a zr2 it would be the ultimate desert runner with some paddle tires
I have one in my 2000 Silverado I need a new block for it to rebuild it
So ur telling me this could be my 4.3 00’ Silverado?!?
Yup
If you find a way to shave 3000+ pounds off the Silverado 🤷
So Is that 4.3L a VORTEC ALSO WITH THE TURBO!!! ??? How much HORSEPOWER IS PUTTING OUT??? SWEET LUV PICK UP!!!! Very nice!!!!
pre-Vortec. The Vortec's were trash.

Dynoed to the tires 1700 hp.
This truck used to have a roots style blower. What happened to that? I ask cuz I just might be looking for one for my v6. Atlanta area here.
Imagine an AWD astrovan with that kinda motor
It would have to be built a hell of alot more stout than this one because the van is alot heavier
@@gearhead682010 that and the Astro has so little wiggle room it's not even funny!

thats because the GN engine is an older version of the vortec

Because he wanted to go fast.
@@andyharman3022 yeah and with correct setup blowers go fast as well.
What all you have in the 4.3 engine?
Keep Fryburger away from it. He will break the crank.
I remember when that truck had a roots blower on that 4.3
Oh yeah it sure did I think it was on pinks all out too
@@chuckford4393 yes sir sure was been around a little while
If you have a 4.3 in your daily driver and not the money you have to make it that fast. But want 4-500 hp is it do-able for 4-5k
Lmfao no. More like 10 times that. Ur better off throwing an old 5.3 or 6.0 in there for more power less cost
