To learn and retain new material, organize "Problem Set Parties" with a few classmates (who have their acts together); discussing lecture material and problem sets with your peers is very helpful to clarify ones ideas. For exam preparation, assure that you understand the homework solutions by yourself, do some of the unassigned problems (Undergrad texts generally have a ton of problems.), ask for copies of previous exams and work them in a timed environment.
Agreed. I think it’s also about developing a deeper understanding within a mathematical domain. For me, mastery seems to involve preparing for the unexpected, not just solving a single problem.
This is what I would of wanted to hear about mathematics in my early years of schooling. I agree with what the math Sourcer says . Very enlightening, thank you.
As many as. a person would like to watch. There is nothing wrong with learning, and going back to maths topics that could easily be forgotten. The less complex, the better.

Read lecture slides first and example problems and after do totorial questions on your own
Then try the exercises. If you are stuck take help from your teacher. Maths is all about practice doing the same problem again and again.
I went to math olympiad and my target was solving problems independently.

I think you have forgotten a plenty of Mathematics. Buying books won't do. You have to choose one book and learn it throughly.
