I just love how around 3:21 (of the song), the monophonic synth harmonizes with the vocals. It's a small detail, but so cool. This song is just solid, and the music video is one of the best ever made.

This had an amazing video to accompany it, I think that double sold the song for me when I first heard it.

To answer your question about the lyrics i believe the writer (who is Sam, the vocalist) says its about a time a friend (male) made a move on another friend (also male) but the advances didnt work as the friend was not gay

As a Die Hard Smiths/Morrissey fan .. absolutely adour this particular track. Definitely hints of 'Blue Monday' by New Order from the intro and throughout. And of course The Killers and Placebo influences standing ready. And obviously Non of this Post Punk, Electronic, Guitar base Rock would mean nothing without the SMITHS power of self determination to being independent and experimental from day One. Viva Morrissey. Viva Independent Music.

This is such a great song! It was all over the radio in the mid-2000s, but I never heard anything else from the band. I would've put money on them being from the UK, too! Thanks for sharing, Greg.

You should listen to their other song I really really like, maybe more than this one, the name of the song is Believe, and it is one of the best I've listened in my life.

This song came from their first album, not The Sun and the Moon, which is better imo, great vocals from Sam .

I had this album when it came out, but it didn’t grab me. This is their best track. At the time, probably unfairly, I saw them as British and Editors-lite, who in turn I saw as Interpol-lite. Will have to revisit with an open mind.

Same. I liked this song but their album on the whole wasn't very good to me.

@@ijustneedmyself Yeah Editors-like indeed, who are themselves Joy Division-like. In the best possible way :)

Duran Duran meets dance. Great song. Influenced by 911? read up on it.. the vocalist was quite vain lol but something about 911 triggered him, i read it somewhere. Might be lies ot truth.

If I’m being truthful this is the only song I’ve properly heard from this band, just always loved it!! Didn’t even know they were American, my bad 🤦🏻‍♂️ Glad you liked it tho, it is a real gem of a tune.
As always, appreciate the reaction, keep up the good work 👍🏻 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇺🇦

Yes, I really liked this song when it came out. I thought they broke up. And it does sound like a sped up version of Blue Monday. Good stuff!
It will be interesting to see if they put out new music. Hope it'll be as good as this song
