There are many tribes that decided to attack their system and went down because thz said system had a fonctionnal planetary defense system. But like anything in ork society, if you keep trying, you will eventually win at then end. The first waaagh won't be succesful, neither the second, and maybe not the third, but the forth do the job. For this reason the Imperium underestimate the orks because they see all the failure of orks weaker tribes and think that those dummies can't break throught their wall if they just launch themself at the guns. I find Orks to be annoyingly silly in the technical sense. I can see the argument that the 40k setting needs some comic relief but I find when the Orks start getting to the stage of complicated machines, especially gargants and space ships they have actually made and not just stolen just because they believe it will keep out the vacuum of space let alone warp energies, it is just immersion breaking and exceeds my ability to enjoy the lore. I have managed to accept everything up to that The daft crude accents only make it worse. It would make more sense if their ships were made by captured slaves who landed on the wrong world or the like. Perhaps the Orks intentionally keep a stock of ship building slaves. Perhaps a civilisation of Orks ignored by the local populace were much bigger than expected and launched an attack and took over, stealing their ships or all of the above. Perhaps there is rumoured to be some sorry looking remnants or descendants of some ancient wiser species (the old one race who created them) supposedly to be hiding behind the green tides and are the secret to their success and the source of some of the smarter and augmented orks technical know how. I know they are not the only fluff that seems overly stretched in this manner but they are one of the biggest and probably oldest examples I would like to see altered but I know likely never will be.
Markus Flint I do not really see your problem. As per description, orkz are all something like psykers to smaller or bigger degree able to pool their power together to achieve things. Just becaouse they do not have long beards or elegant movements and instead of staffs they gladly use two rocks does not make them any less psychicaly powerfull. They integrated their psychic powers through their entire culture and war mongery which then leads to machines that operate on thought power instead of common physical laws. Simply, they are even more magic based then eldars.

Well, usually it´s not easy to develope such a bioweapon, in fact it might even be impossible in case of the orks considering that there are many different variations and subspecies which sometimes only come from size or battleexpierience. Also this might convince the orks to organize a straightaway attack on holy terra and while they are usually not very good at managing their waaaghs to be efficient and large armys there´s right now one boss who might just do that. Ghazkull Thraka is probably one of the greatest threads to the imperium of men, maybe even more dangerous than Abbadon the destroyer(because if his gods tell him to attack they probably also want him to win while the chaos gods seem to consider Abbadon more as a source of entertainment than a real chosen fighter), and after he overran and captured Amargeddon he could use the planet as a base from where he just could lead a massive attack to Terra. THe reason he didn´t do that yet is that a successfull attack on holy Terra would probably end the imperium which right now is still needet for Ghazkull to start Ragnarök. But if mankind starts to use species-wiping bioweapons he or the green godz might just decide that there are more urgent matters to solve....
It's funny how the Orks of all seam to be the least evil of species within the WH40k galaxy, since all they are doing is being true to their bestial nature and their only desire is to challenge themselves through fighting tough enemies. I kinda like them.

Lots of people say Orks are the least racist faction in Grimdark, as they will fight anyone. People argue with "Tyranids eat everything!" or "Tau bring all to the Greater Good!" First excuse is wrong. Nids' will not attack the Necron. Necron are machines, and as such have nothing for the gribblies to eat. Second is also wrong. Tau would never accept Orks as part of the Greater Good. Yes, they hire them as mercs but its not the same. Hell, even Chaos is scared of the Sisters. The only truly non-racist faction is the Necron. Whoever or whatever you are, the evil undead Egyptian tomb lord terminators from space (Necron) will vaporize you. Orks have expressed distress when combating Eldar. They also dont enjoy fighting the Tau, as they think the mass spamming of pulse shots is cheating. Because of this, they are racist. Also, Orks seem to be obsessed with their phrase ORKZ IZ DA BEST!!! THAT IS CLEARLY AND PLAINLY INHERENTLY RACIST!!!

+Bionic Tech Once i was the game master for a very stupid and surreal adventure for Warhammer 40k role playing game: Deathwatch. The kill team of space marine had to retrive the christmas tree that some orks had stolen from Valhallian soldiers. The Ork Bozz spied on the humans and belived that "the magic of Christmas" could be stolen and used to get stronga and bigga. He started dressing like Santa and called himself Zanta Bozz. The space martines reached his encampment they saw Zanta Bozz singing "Dakka Bellz" with all the Boyz and saw the Snotling dressed as little elves. It was bloody hilarious.
15:00 the technical term for "WAAAGH! energy" is a "Liminal Gestalt Field" it is essentially the logic that if you believe something hard enough it shall come to be. For example in ork society Red=Faster and Louder=More powerful.

I just love orks. All Warhammer 40k seems to... serious? for me. Everything is so serious, that it's become comic(like with some death metal bands - I love metal but bands like Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath know how to treat themselves not entirely serious, but with perspective). Everything in WH40 is so grim, dark, evil... I know, that's climate of WH40. But it's so good that race like orks exists in WH40 to balance seriousness of the rest. I mean orks are pretty serious danger to pretty much everyone, but they are... so cute. Cute like 3 years old child on steroids, with big knife that's gonna cut your throat but still cute :> And their society is really based on freedom. I mean in Imperium you are basically a slave, but in Ork society you can do what you want. Want to burn everything? Join to burnas. Want to drive fast? Buy/steal/"aquire" vehicle, paint it red and join cult of speed.
"Surrounded and outnumbered"? By my understanding, Orks surround and outnumber everyone else. They're the most successful species in the universe. If the Ork hordes ever properly united it would be an instant game over for literally every other intelligent race.
The most numerous race are humans, the orks are second, chaos is probably third, necrons or eldar could be 4 and 5, tyranids 6 with the numbers they currently have in the galaxy, but should keep growing as more of them arrive and they expand, tau exist and that shouldn’t be a thing
What I like about Orks is that they really represent Warhammer as a whole: the only thing that matters is the fight. The Lore is like a shoota: you don't need a shoota to fight, but it is more fun with a shoota than just our fists. The same with the Lore in Warhammer: we don't need the Lore to roll dice on the table or move figurines around, but it is more fun when we have stories behind the figurines we roll dice for. In the end, we FIGHT!
Arch, I'd just like to thank you for all the entertaining videos over the past year. I've watched this channel grow quite a lot,but I'm going to miss the next 8-9 weeks of your videos. You and Uthan the Perverse. He was an Eldar philosopher who earned his title by offering the opinion that the Ork mindset is more or less the way to go. They want only to fight, so they're always happy because they're always fighting. No internal struggle, no angst, no regrets--all Eldar staples. Of course, the downsides of the Ork way of life are obvious.

The fact that they use psychic powers to make machines is idle introspection from the adeptus mechanicus. Simply put, they do not understand the ork method of "invention" and "creative technology" and thus can only really liken it to random mutation expressed by demons. Rather, the fact is that orks are extremely resourceful and innovative, and are perhaps the best engineers in the 40k universe. Their objectives are what make their technology so confusing. They build war machines for the ENJOYMENT of the orks using it. They also do not build to be superior, only to put themselves on a "fair" level (or just to copy things that they think is cool that the enemy uses, more likely) take Ryza for example, the orks there find themselves using extremely advanced ork technology to match themselves with the skitarii forces there. Having said that, they do not replicate eldar or necron technology, I rather think this has to do with the orks actually liking humans & space marines quite a lot, thinking the smooth efficient weapons the other races use is boring and crap. The orks like big battles, and only the imperium is likely to oblige them. If they were truly simply using psychic technology (as the eldar do, I might add) they would use very basic looking implements. They are entirely unconcerned with the ends, and live by the means. They want their vehicles to be loud and unoiled. They want their guns to go bam the loudest, they want to miss so they can close into close combat and talk to the humans etc (they communicate in a way through violence) and like the way humans shout when they fight, and lean to speak bits of 'uman too. Essentially they think they are playing a game, and probably cant really tell the difference between humans and space marines and gretchins and orcs, other than the taste. *Apparently the orks actually DON'T psychically cause their tech to work, it was solely an assertion that they must have no machine spirit, because that serves humanity and thus must work some other way. It is true that humans struggle to get ork equipment to work, but not that it stops working any more than before when they die out.*
Carbon 12 I never thought that orcs ate humans other than those squibs, infant staged orks & also being capable of survival via osmosis in case nothings protein rich is available, however being a descendant of some not clearly known reptilian species that created them, well i kinda wouldn't doubt it when you observe there hideous long fangs & wide mouths that looks like there capable of biting off a humans face it seems, hell where's my armour piercing explosive round bolter pistol & buzz saw grip, & hell its a good thing also that the pest can be killed, tho w/ a bit more effort than normal but they do get taken out thank goodness for the universe. 👽👍

Hey arch, I have been a big fan of your videos and I was a big fantasy player, but with the summary execution of 8th edition due to End Times and AOS, I was inspired by your Lore videos to start playing 40K. I'm thinking about playing Astrates Militarum.
I remember the old idea that orks were created my intelligent snotlings but the snotlings degenerated to the current state due to mutation or illness if I remembered correctly.

A lab created bio weapon against there DNA structure may be needed to quickly eviscerate those savage beings completely & for good, because every world that they land on gets easily contaminated by there reproductive spores, its pretty weird & frightening if ask me, perhaps that may be a final solution for those highly hostile & dangerous green space critters in upcoming WH epics.
Well, usually it´s not easy to develope such a bioweapon, in fact it might even be impossible in case of the orks considering that there are many different variations and subspecies which sometimes only come from size or battleexpierience. Also this might convince the orks to organize a straightaway attack on holy terra and while they are usually not very good at managing their waaaghs to be efficient and large armys there´s right now one boss who might just do that. Ghazkull Thraka is probably one of the greatest threads to the imperium of men, maybe even more dangerous than Abbadon the destroyer(because if his gods tell him to attack they probably also want him to win while the chaos gods seem to consider Abbadon more as a source of entertainment than a real chosen fighter), and after he overran and captured Amargeddon he could use the planet as a base from where he just could lead a massive attack to Terra. THe reason he didn´t do that yet is that a successfull attack on holy Terra would probably end the imperium which right now is still needet for Ghazkull to start Ragnarök. But if mankind starts to use species-wiping bioweapons he or the green godz might just decide that there are more urgent matters to solve....
It's funny how the Orks of all seam to be the least evil of species within the WH40k galaxy, since all they are doing is being true to their bestial nature and their only desire is to challenge themselves through fighting tough enemies. I kinda like them.
The Tau are a bit better, but not by much. I mean, it's a massive theistic space empire -- but, hey, at least humans still get to worship the Emperor. A little.

Lots of people say Orks are the least racist faction in Grimdark, as they will fight anyone. People argue with "Tyranids eat everything!" or "Tau bring all to the Greater Good!"
First excuse is wrong. Nids' will not attack the Necron. Necron are machines, and as such have nothing for the gribblies to eat.
Second is also wrong. Tau would never accept Orks as part of the Greater Good. Yes, they hire them as mercs but its not the same.
Hell, even Chaos is scared of the Sisters.
The only truly non-racist faction is the Necron. Whoever or whatever you are, the evil undead Egyptian tomb lord terminators from space (Necron) will vaporize you.

The kill team of space marine had to retrive the christmas tree that some orks had stolen from Valhallian soldiers. The Ork Bozz spied on the humans and belived that "the magic of Christmas" could be stolen and used to get stronga and bigga. He started dressing like Santa and called himself Zanta Bozz. The space martines reached his encampment they saw Zanta Bozz singing "Dakka Bellz" with all the Boyz and saw the Snotling dressed as little elves. It was bloody hilarious.

I just love orks. All Warhammer 40k seems to... serious? for me. Everything is so serious, that it's become comic(like with some death metal bands - I love metal but bands like Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath know how to treat themselves not entirely serious, but with perspective). Everything in WH40 is so grim, dark, evil... I know, that's climate of WH40. But it's so good that race like orks exists in WH40 to balance seriousness of the rest. I mean orks are pretty serious danger to pretty much everyone, but they are... so cute. By my understanding, Orks surround and outnumber everyone else. They're the most successful species in the universe. If the Ork hordes ever properly united it would be an instant game over for literally every other intelligent race.
Humans actually outnumber orks by a large margin. Mainly because the main ork pasttime is reducing the overall number of orks in their vicinity.
The most numerous race are humans, the orks are second, chaos is probably third, necrons or eldar could be 4 and 5, tyranids 6 with the numbers they currently have in the galaxy, but should keep growing as more of them arrive and they expand, tau exist and that shouldn’t be a thing

What I like about Orks is that they really represent Warhammer as a whole: the only thing that matters is the fight. The Lore is like a shoota: you don't need a shoota to fight, but it is more fun with a shoota than just our fists. The same with the Lore in Warhammer: we don't need the Lore to roll dice on the table or move figurines around, but it is more fun when we have stories behind the figurines we roll dice for. In the end, we FIGHT!

You and Uthan the Perverse. He was an Eldar philosopher who earned his title by offering the opinion that the Ork mindset is more or less the way to go. They want only to fight, so they're always happy because they're always fighting. No internal struggle, no angst, no regrets--all Eldar staples. Of course, the downsides of the Ork way of life are obvious.

You have made a slightly could be boring series very entertaining and I have and will continue to listen while laughing so very hard, keep up the good work.
The fact that they use psychic powers to make machines is idle introspection from the adeptus mechanicus. Simply put, they do not understand the ork method of "invention" and "creative technology" and thus can only really liken it to random mutation expressed by demons.
Rather, the fact is that orks are extremely resourceful and innovative, and are perhaps the best engineers in the 40k universe. Their objectives are what make their technology so confusing. They build war machines for the ENJOYMENT of the orks using it. They also do not build to be superior, only to put themselves on a "fair" level (or just to copy things that they think is cool that the enemy uses, more likely) take Ryza for example, the orks there find themselves using extremely advanced ork technology to match themselves with the skitarii forces there.
Having said that, they do not replicate eldar or necron technology, I rather think this has to do with the orks actually liking humans & space marines quite a lot, thinking the smooth efficient weapons the other races use is boring and crap. The orks like big battles, and only the imperium is likely to oblige them. If they were truly simply using psychic technology (as the eldar do, I might add) they would use very basic looking implements. They are entirely unconcerned with the ends, and live by the means. They want their vehicles to be loud and unoiled. They want their guns to go bam the loudest, they want to miss so they can close into close combat and talk to the humans etc (they communicate in a way through violence) and like the way humans shout when they fight, and lean to speak bits of 'uman too.
Essentially they think they are playing a game, and probably cant really tell the difference between humans and space marines and gretchins and orcs, other than the taste.
*Apparently the orks actually DON'T psychically cause their tech to work, it was solely an assertion that they must have no machine spirit, because that serves humanity and thus must work some other way. It is true that humans struggle to get ork equipment to work, but not that it stops working any more than before when they die out.*

I never thought that orcs ate humans other than those squibs, infant staged orks & also being capable of survival via osmosis in case nothings protein rich is available, however being a descendant of some not clearly known reptilian species that created them, well i kinda wouldn't doubt it when you observe there hideous long fangs & wide mouths that looks like there capable of biting off a humans face it seems, hell where's my armour piercing explosive round bolter pistol & buzz saw grip, & hell its a good thing also that the pest can be killed, tho w/ a bit more effort than normal but they do get taken out thank goodness for the universe. 👽👍
