Best Video on the tube, Thankyou for making it, just waiting for my fuel pump to arrive via EBay, then can start wrenching it in and get back to riding, Aloha from Hawaii, and Mahalos
@@dustytales5829 hi Rix, did you order your fuel pump in this video from eBay? Or did you get the expensive oem? Wondering cause everyone says the eBay ones die out fast but the oem last years. Wondering if you got an eBay one and how long before it messed up again?
great breakdown on to the point fuel pump replacement ! no extra nonsense , thank you Rick and shame on 2 idiots that disliked ricks time he took to video and post , Shame 2 losers ! Rick again thank you brother!
On this bike how do you properly remove and clean carbs? Thats a video id like to see. Good work. I cam see you took time to find bolts/ harness placement.
Rick , awsome A+ job on video , I had to reply to an idiot that gave u a dislike on this video , he said you had pump on backwards lol!!! what a loser , thank you for taking the time to even post a video to help others with this pump ! jontyrant must own a 250 rebel and cant figure out why he cant wheelie lol!!
Hey great video I've been watching that with interest because I'm trying to do something like what you're doing on my 2001 Honda Ace Honda Shadow Ace 750. I need to get rid of that tool box that's in there and I noticed you took two screws off the top but you didn't take the box out was there a reason for that it seemed look like it might have been attached to the battery holder or something like that. I'd like to take the box out completely do I need to buy a new battery holder if I do that? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sandy
I watched your video I got A completely different pump from the auto parts store with the inlet on one side and out on the other I had to do a little custom mount but now my bike won’t start any idea?
What prompted you to replace the fuel pump, I'm having an issue where, when I give it gas the bike shuts off, and when it runs it won't go over 50 mph, thanks for the video.
I have a 2001 Honda Shadow VT750 Ace Deluxe CD2 and I wanted to ask if you might have a suggestion that may help me. I changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel cutoff relay, battery, 30 amp ignition fuse and spark plugs. The bike turns on, starter/ignition activates, good spark to the plugs, filter fills up, but it won't start unless I use ether/starting fluid but as soon as it burns off then nothing, nada, zip EPIC FAIL, dead in the water. Is there something I'm overlooking? Is it possible I might have the supply/return lines switched on the pump? But then again if I did the pump wouldn't be pulling to the filter.
Hooked up some LEDs to my bike drained the battery. Charged the battery removed led wires. Won’t crank up after charging battery. It turns but won’t start.
Man, that’s not cool. I think your fuel pump stopped working. You probably figured that out. I would check your fuses. Then chase down the wires from the relay and or the relay it’s self. Good luck.
@@THESULET24 I happen to have both of these bikes... A 2005 shadow spirit and 86 VT700C. The 2005 shadow has a fat short fuel pump mounted to the bottom of the battery tray. From what I understand you have to pull the battery tray and second tank to get to it.

You hear so much shit about the cheap pumps from Ebay and Amazon and China, and they are certainly also very cheap, it annoys me we do not in this video hear Rick start the machine up.
My swap went smooth thanks to this! I knew the little tricks before I ran in to the need for em. Saved me a lot of time thank you!

The tip of the needle on the head of the fuel pump does that connect to the coolant hose

Marvin Osoy I would check the fuses.
But the fuses only have to do with lights and stuff correct?
Marvin Osoy in the Honda shadow there is a relay that powered the pump
Where does the smaller hose connect to

The problem I had was. When the tank was full it ran just fine. When I reached about 2/3 full it would not get fuel to the carb.
How did you test it?
Hola... Do you think this will be the same on a 2002 Honda vt1100c2 ? I couldn't find the video.. you are the closest thing
It should similar to your bike. These models don’t change much from year to year. Good luck.

At this point, I’d look into servicing the carburetor. Maybe clean it or rebuild kit.

How did that new fuel pump work out?
Bricklinsv1970 The pump worked out. I don’t have shadow any more.
Good idea with the zip ties.

Looks time consuming but easy at the same time. Same procedure for an 86 Honda shadow??

I changed mine and IT still is not manking a pumping noise when I turn it on. What do you guys think?
Could be the fuel pump relay
Hi, how do u know that the fuel pump was going bad? What are the signs? Why made you replace your fuel pump?
Basement31 , I would fill the gas tank and it would stop running when the level reach 1/3.
Dusty Tales does it sputter/hesitate/die on high speed like 60-70mph??
I think you need to check your air filter. Lack of air..
Dusty Tales air filter is nice and clean. Carbs been rejetted. With short shots pipes with no baffles.
