Im a Vegas fan but love this podcast, I wish the VGK podcast was as good as this, we have some angry ass old man who can barely get a concise sentence together 🤦♂️
LOL 😂, Tony was difficult for me too at first but I stuck with the two guys and finally they growled on me but Eddie is better than the Vegas and Anaheim locked on guys but I listen to all three of them between you and me 🤫
@@andykanani5671 it is a passion. I appreciate all the locked on guys for covering their home teams and often use it as background listening while i start scouting stats and putting together my opinion of opposing teams. I like the locked on series because even though the styles change they do talk about how their team is currently playing at any given time.
Way too much panic and doom and gloom after the injury. Doughty is good, but he ain't no Makar. Unfortunately, injuries are part of the game. They move on
I agree, throw Clark on the 1st line, skill wise he’s probably the best replacement, the coach needs to change plans, you can’t just close your eyes and pretend like it didn’t happen.
What I've heard about Clarke is that he is not well developed defensively, even though he is a defenseman. He's more of an offensive defenseman, whereas Drew is idolized for his defensive skills. Maybe Eddie is right that his development will be jump-started, but it's very iffy, in my opinion. :(
It’s Clarke time …his offensive ceiling is way higher than Dewey’s and it’s time for someone else to QB the PP …loosing in the first round three years in a row means time for change. Clarke first team Spence #2 look for Turcotte to break out get well Drew
we all love drew and know what a rarity he is; but it’s not the time to hang like a hound dog; and if Drew’s absence so wounds the Kings start to a 500 or middle pack team, then once again it’s on management’s incompetency that a team’s consequences lies so heavily with a 17 year veteran. Management didn’t think to themselves the last couple years “Drew shouldn’t be 25min a night, but what the hell!” You knoWthe Oilers especially, but many competitive teams are improving their rosters while the Kings mire in Quicksand. Did you think Drew and Kopi were going to play forever? There’s a lot of young talent out there that the kings didn’t pursue just flatlined. TH
Well, Great what a wonderful way to get to the preseason and lose our #1 defenseman and the regular season hasn’t even started yet 🤦♂️ SMH. At least I can see that it gives the coaching staff more time to figure out how to replace him in the lineup and the salary cap relief does help a little bit in a trade. So let’s go through the depth chart on defense. Gavrikov is going to need to earn his contract money for sure. Mikey Anderson is a stud. Brandt Clarke will be fine in the 2nd pairing for now but I’m thinking the coaches will put him on the third pairing. I got an idea 💡 Blake should call Verbeek and inquire about Cam Fowler because there are rumors about him being traded due to the abundance of great young talent on the Ducks 🦆 blue line. I’ve always liked Fowler and saw him get drafted at Staples Center in 2010 which was cool. Lol crowd totally booed him. The Joel Edmundson signing is looking a little bit better at the moment.
Anyone else get Gabe Vilardi flashbacks when Laferiere placed the puck right on the opposing players stick? I think Spence should play on the top line but i wouldn't be mad if Clarke or even Burroughs played on the top line for balance
Nah, Gabe was never that bad and really only turned the puck over on high risk/high reward plays in the offensive zone. Laffy reminds me more of AI, defensive zone turn-overs, and just poor choices or a lack of vision. But it's the first game of pre-season, I hope he can be more consistent this season and live up to the hype he has been getting ... or else the Iafallo comparisons will grow. AI has a solid work ethic, he's tenacious and almost always comes out of a corner with the puck, and Laffy could be a better fit in a bottom six role as he gets more experience.
I think I disagree with Clarke in Drews spot. I would put Spence in that spot. He is one year ahead of Clarke in his development and has always delivered on the offensive side by with a full year in LA last year I think he would be the better candidate. Putting Clarke on the first line D at his age with almost no NHL experience would be detrimental to his development. He should stay in his spot but get lots of reps on the power play this year and build up this confidence. I think Clarke puts up similar numbers to Spenny last year (approx 25 to 30 points) assuming he gets his PP time.
Definitely sucks... and Clarke's definitely gonna have to grow up real fast but I have a feeling him and Spence will be able to handle it
I am still very pumped to watch our boys kick it.
Eddie as always awesome segment and perfect take on Drew's injury and Brandt Clarke stepping up!!!

So what? That's a typical Vegas person drunk, lost his house in a card game, and wandering the strip babbling incoherently as he looks for company.

Heart breaking
Tons of opportunities for Clarke and Spence. We knew this year was going to be the kids stepping up. #gkg

Where is Rittich?

Wonder Kings claim dman waiver pickup to replace Doughty before season starts

Rob Blake been fired yet?
Bring another player. Trade for one !!!!!! Zaitsev or klingberg!!
Harsh news, my hopes and prayers.
Calm down he's not gonna die.
This will come down to the ability/abilities of Jordan Spence, not Clarke. IMO
Could be a blessing in disguise tbh, maybe a new young defenseman can step up and impress! Doughty is just old and needs to retire
